I wouldn’t even call this an exploit. Seems like a legitimate feature added to reward the most difficult possible throws
Weirdly though, for the past couple months I’ve been trying to only hit the smallest excellents just to get more accurate. Haven’t payed much attention to how often I’m getting crits tho

You can also get critical catches with great throws
The buddy bounce back works, but you had to already hit the ball in the target circle for it to count as a modifier.

Yes, I wanted to point this out myself. If you would throw an excellent, but it's invalid because the mon dodges it, but your buddy bounces it back to it, only then you get an excellent throw.
Your aim was TRAGIC on this vid🤣 also, I think the bounce back feature only gets excellent if that’s what you threw before the pokemon attacks you
Some times I’ve definitely had what would be excellent throws get bounced back and be excellent, but I’ve also had complete fails become excellent.

Man if i see how a pro PoGo player struggles with catching pokemon or missing excellent throws, it motivates me even more, props to him for making this video for us.

It's been so long since I've seen a Mystic Phone throw and that trash can throw was a wonderful return to form
The buddy bounce always hits the same spot as you threw. So if you hit excellent, it hits it too. If you dont, it never does it either
It's weird, as I could've sworn the buddy would make me hit excellent providing I had the circle set properly (even if I was off center). Now, since last week or so, it never does. Test it - I guess can test with nice throw too.

Congrats on your work here and I done this test myself using an Ultra Ball on a Galar bird and I was lucky to get it.
I still try it out on pokemon but some good catches, others not times not so much.

Well, I just caught 2 pokemon in a row and had one of these shake once and caught throws and while I was trying to hit an excellent, none were even nice throws and I still got the animation of catching within 1 shake

The buddy only bounces to the place where you throw the ball, if it was inside excelent, you got a buddy help with excelent, if you miss excelent than the buddy Will give you great, nice ir nothing, based on where you hit the circle [4:40 timer]

How you got the bounce back sableye was exactly how I crit caught a Galar Zapdoes.
Also to get an excellent buddy bounce for the ball you'll have to have hit within the circle before it's knocked away and your buddy will hit it back as an excellent only if you did first
My experience with Excellent throws is that you have the least chance possible to catch the pokeon out of all "special type" throws UNLESS you get the smallest for the instant catch.
It'd be better if it said Perfect! when you get the smallest excellent throw but I'll take what I can get.
On a related note, I encountered a galarian moltres and tried to do this only to miss horribly, it then not only didn't run but the next bad throw got me the 1% critical capture.
I just caught a Squirtle and had a great throw instead excellent , is it a glitch?

I know how it works. When you get a special throw like nice, great or excellent u dont get it. But when you hit it on the edge of the circle and still get the special throw thing u get a critical catch. Try it for yourselves.
Hey guys! I just restarted playing Pokemon go a week ago, is there any tips you have? I stopped playing in 2016 so I basically know nothing about the game. I’m mainly struggling against the event raids Pokémon’s, like mega steelix or shadow ho-oh, even the tyranitar raids… there’s no one from where I live that plays pokemon go (at least that’s what I feel like lol) and my strongest Pokemons only have 1909 cp. I’ve got a few critical catches on legendary raids so it is possible, but I think you need to use a Golden Razz berries instead.
It worked for me for a random dusclops edit: you know that u can get shadow shinies from grunts since cliff had shadow dratini

All my buddies think I'm crazy for this but other than my Golden Razz I save all of my Pink Nanabs & when I go to catch my raid Encounters (even Legendarys) 80% of my throws I'll use the bananas. I almost always catch the mon using the nanabs, rarely do I lose one.

When I have gotten this, just 5-6 times, the circle was very small but I did not get the “excellent” animation.

It can work on a tier 5 raids, you need to use a golden razz berry instead of nanab berry. I had made like 1 or 2 critical catch doing a tier 5 raid.
This method is confirmed by myself and a lot of others to not work with premier balls. If you do get a critical catch on a raid pokémon it was only that random critical catch without this method.
@@antson03yeah, definitely doesn’t work with T-5 raid boss. Tested out myself on Landorus, three times where I hit smallest circle all burst out in one shake - player since 2016 and have been throwing excellents since they scaled the excellent throw XP
I, as well of thousands of others, have proven this to not work.

@@einherjar3095 what I’ve gathered from personal research and stuff I’ve read. Doesn’t work on legendary, mythical (not 100% sure) or ultra beasts. And not with premier balls.

if your native refresh rate is on the bounce back does not hit inside the circle. Also, critical catch does not work on legendaries.
just know you can get critical on shadow pokemon which ive been knew, i had a shadow cranidos & hit the little circle & got the critical catch like that just so you know since you couldnt do it but yeah it works
I opened POGO while watching this to test it out, got an excellent throw and boom critical catch. It's definitely a high chance for a critical catch on an excellent throw, whether or not it's 100%.

I managed to crit catch a latios on my last ball by getting the smallest circle, thank got i did because I'd used a remote raid pass and am free to play 😅
I hope I’m wrong, but my prediction is that if and when Level 60 comes out, critical catches will be needed in much the same way we needed 999 excellent throws to reach Level 50.

I actually did this by accident earlier yesterday. I don't necessarily think it a glitch bit a feature that's difficult to get but possible. I got a 100% iv ralts and another 100% as well I forgot what of because of these

if you have a gyarados that is high cp that means it only does dragon type moves

did 50+ excellent throws on the smallest possible circle on Thunderous and still not critical catch. think the set up prevented it imo
I found that Pokemon will jump if you feign-throw the ball at them twice. This worked for 9/10 Eevees that I tested this on.

I have to disagree that the critical throw only happens with the smallest circle, I've personally seen it with a nice or great throw
Every throw has a very very small chance to be critical. Hitting the smallest circle is just a guranteed critical (except for 5star and so on)

Makes sense to me. I wouldn't be surprised if this was less an exploit and more just an intended mechanic. It's a reward for hitting an incredibly precise shot. I struggle just to reliably hit excellt throws; no way this will help me.

i usually try throwing excellents for the exp too, don't get me wrong i'm not flaming, but you seem like you usually don't do that 😁 understandably so, you get your exp in other ways ... anyway, my point is that i throw a LOT of excellents and crit catch is not 100%, it just has a higher chance of happening on excellent throws 😅
No it is literally 100% if you hit the smallest possible circle, not just an excellent throw. So if you think you hit the smallest possible circle and you didn’t get a critical catch, you didn’t hit the smallest possible circle.
Alao what Imve read is a random critical catch is like 1/500 chance, so if you got one without the smallest circle it was just random.

I'm pretty sure its not a glitch, this is just a theory but I think the game is just programmed to increase your chance of getting a critical catch when you hit an excellent with a smaller circle so its practically guaranteed if you make your circle small enough. However, again, this is just a theory.
