I Cut These Air Jordan 1 Union's Into Low Tops

- From High to Low! The BBS Union Jordan 1 released not too long ago and became a love or hate sneaker. Some people love the flyknit texture on the leather and some say this release could be much better! Vick and multiple people around the office picked up these shoes, but our photographer wanted to be different, so he relied on Vick Almighty!
After seeing other customizers take this sneaker from a high top to a low top; Vick was eager to try it out.. But not on his own pair! To start the customization we had to do some deconstruction to this beautiful sneaker. We started by removing the stiching, tongues, and swooshes too make sure the sneaker was fully ready to make a low top. This process is complicated and you have to be very careful.
Once the sneaker was deconstructed it was time to move onto the detail work. We started with creating swooshes for the sneaker in a beautiful teal colorway. The details on this sneaker quickly became the best part by making the edges of the swoosh yellow. Once the swooshes were prepped and ready to go it was time to attach them to the shoe. IMO the custom could've stopped here! Those teal swooshes add so much to the sneaker as is!
Now it is time to get to the lining. Fun fact... Vick has rarely done this! Putting the lining on the outside to line up the cut before moving it into the inside is a solid move! Now these low top Union Jordan 1s are ready for the finishing touches. We started by securing the liner in the shoe and making the shoe totally wearable. Now it is time to fix the tongues of the sneaker, so that is doesn't look too crazy! Once the finishing touches were completed this sneaker was looking top tier!

Amazing as usual man, thanks for constantly innovating and sharing with the rest of us the process along the way. We still need to figure out a good/easy way to replace normal sockliners on lows without taking the entire shoe apart. So many old dunks are ripped apart in the heels, and adhesive patches never usually cut it. 🤦♂

came ouyt very fire. Only issue I see, and usually see when they replace the swooshes, is that the swoosh needs to be thicker so that you can't see the shoe print underneath it.

Everything looks better as a low imo. 😎 would it have been possible to use the wings logo on the ankle collar of the high, as the back tab wings logo on the low to really finish the low conversion?

Outside of fashion, most performance sneakers are only low tops. It would be cool to see them get updated from low to high.

A tragic story! I like the Highs
Seeing those lil holes after stripping the paint on midsoles is normal. The resason why you don't see them before is because of the caked on paint from the factory fill them.. Use a filler before repainting.

@@RESHOEVN8R No problem... Yeah, I remember when I ran into that issue a few years back. The midsoles on my DS 2019 bred 4s have that issue big time. You can see it through the paint. It is a quality control issue from the factory. I mean, when thousands and thousands of pairs are being made, stuff like that will happen, but not "soo much" with limited pairs. If the paint on the midsoles isn't cracking, I would fill whatever imperfections using a light filler of your choice or what you mention and remove the shine by lightly sanding with a 600 grit sandpaper... I love helping my brothers and sisters. Keep those videos coming!!! Oh, and this pair looks a lot better now... 💪🏿😎
