Great saw when it's new. When it's 8 months old, not so great. New motors are around 70 GBP, blades cost a fortune and replacement "supercut" blades don't last anything like as long as the one they supply with the saw. Really bad customer services ensure you can't get spare parts and have to buy a new machine when it breaks. Really isn't worth the money.
Does anyone know of a (UK) replacement motor for the KS 230. Mine has gone intermittent after 18 months of use. Purchased May 2018, Installed May 2019 after a house move and went pop yesterday after around 150-200 cuts. It failed cutting 10mm square spruce.
Today I fitted new brushes in my saw...which proxxon won’t supply..they want round about £70 more a new motor..I fitted some after market brushes which are 6mm x 5mm they were a bit long but you can shave them down..and now my saw work perfectly 👍🏻
Hi, I'm sorry to hear that you were unable to get the replacement parts needed for your KS 230. I've never been asked for replacement brushes before so I think it must be unusual for them to wear out. Did you try Brimarc Tools as they are the main UK distributor for Proxxon?
@@Nocturnes1984 The machine was used to cut thin oak and walnut sheet, 3mm up to 8mm. I've since bought a small minicraft saw and it's been fine. I've noticed that the blade that came with the Proxxon lasted a lot longer than the genuine Proxxon replacement blades - a 12" rip cut in 8mm oak left the blade pretty blunt - the TCT blade a lot better in this respect.

This saw works perfectly with my work with model boats. It's been a dream to create lists, etc.

There's a mini table saw!!??? Sounds like mixed reviews tho
Una domanda,la lama si può regolare?intendo il taglio più profondo meno profondo!grazie
The problem I had with this is that the guard was not aligned with the blade thus I couldn't cut beyond the guard, had to remove it.
I've just got mine today and found this right away. I need to figure out how to remove the guard now...
This saw has changed my life and made model making a joy ,,
I notice that a 2 pin plug is attached to the fs230 saw, can it be used with 240volt uk household electricity
Regards

Bromley Craft Products he could buy a new motor either from Germany for about €60 or about £70 from uk
The motor in mine burnt out too, I will never ever buy a Proxxon tool again either. Rubbish indeed!
