Intps can be some of the most brilliant types, but some of the biggest losers! Join us on this episode where we discuss how intps can live up to their potential.
INTPs, please don’t give up on life. We need you. Sincerely, an INTJ.
No, you're not my mom. Sincerely, an INTP.
This video is directed at the less fortunate. Some of us INTPs are doing well! 🥰💗
where to find INTJs that need us? You are hard to find anyway 😂
I'm giving up. Sorry.
Remember what the great philosopher Jeremy Meeks said, “Never get up.”
Been waiting for this video for a while. Now that it's here, I've saved it to watch it later. 😏 - INTP
I have 67 Private RUclips Playlist, all max out, how about you?
@@honor9lite1337
NO WAY 😂
I've found my clones 😱
I am afraid that one day youtube will limit playlists, deleting the thousands of videos I've saved for later, and that ill never be able to watch anyways in my lifetime
Soo, ill be sore and grateful, but more sore
good we are the best
@@honor9lite1337 if you like we can share a list of our lists, playlists, files, orders...
hahaha sounds about right
INTP here, slowly dragging myself out of the hedonist spiral with mindfullness. My conscience is always there, present, speaking softly, telling me I shouldn't cut corners or eat an entire pint of ice cream in one sitting. It's easy to ignore. But lately I have been noticing. Noticing how it makes me feel to exercise vs how it makes me feel to sit and binge RUclips all day. I can subvert my desire for pleasure and make myself notice hey, taking a shower every morning with a fancy shampoo feels indulgent! Spending time to perfect my cooking skills is really satisfying! Going for a walk around the block is invigorating! Making an effort with my appearance gives me confidence! So yeah, life hack I guess?
I'm in the same position actually. Finally beginning to realize how rewarding it is to focus on healthy habits and cutting out indulgence in destructive pleasures. Good to see others out there struggling with the same things, good luck to you.
Using the built in purpose of exploration as a way to get out from self sabotage.
It will feel great, but the thing is, this battle will go on forever. In a decade you will still be “noticing” how good it feels to eat healthy, yet you’ll still get sucked into junk food. You’ll “notice” how nice it feels to go on a walk, then get sucked into a new hobby and proceed to spend a month without leaving your desk. The comfort seeking is THIS powerful, and seriously, I think it’s the last boss of an INTP’s life.
Well said, my fellow! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Yeah, it's basically realising that you can get your dopamine from sources other than your typical vices. I still struggle quite a bit, but I notice that when I do well in martial arts training or when other skills that I care about improve that I feel more satisfaction from that than I do from watching "corn" or indulging in unhealthy foods that I shouldn't be having like crisps.
The one vice that I just really can't see myself dropping is gaming, I love games so much that I want to produce games myself, alongside martial arts and cooking this is what I feel the most passionate about. This is something where I need to learn to have a healthy relationship with it rather than cutting it out of my life entirely.
INTP with no idea what to do with life so almost finished a PhD, yet still feel empty and like a loser.
I understand that feeling, personally doing things that appear socially acceptable goes only so far in helping me feel self fulfilled. I’ve learned it’s important to set aside time for personal care and recentering as well. With things like walks, facial and hair care routines ( once or twice throughout the week), trips to the salon every now and then for a pedicure ( as a male or female) is also nice.
Being able to focus on yourself, not critically but in the manner of “what can I do to look after myself?” Again, is essential… hmmm to add to that I would suggest finding an active hobby to share with someone. Say something like photography or bike riding with a friend. Just recently I found out the library nearby has weekly photography lessons and a book club. It may not initially be obvious, but quite possibly your community too has different ways you can be active and involved.
You will dislike this answer, but taking a clue from the ENTJ playbook, look up the occupations that pay the most/have the highest social status, where your PhD will be valued (very important to leverage what you have), and systematically apply to every job opening available. In your downtime learn social skills and business skills like marketing and selling. Once you’ve become comfortable with these basic skills, then think about how you feel about the different options.
@@ABC-jq7ve Good point. I've spent my whole life improving social skills so that's no problem, but definitely status, sales, marketing etc are blind spots. Essentially you are proposing shadow integration? How do I reconcile such action with the feeling of inauthenticity at pursuing status etc?
I was like that for a long time after I left high school, I had no idea what I wanted to do after high school and spent a long time trying to study different subjects and none of it felt right. I ended up studying game development in the end and if that didn't work for me back then I would have offed myself.
30:55 The "loyal to Terraria" really got me, have been playing it since I was 10, lol.
After an unsuccessful relationship attempt with a girl, I found myself binging on stuff again: after months without watching animes properly, I just started watching it every day.
I'll definitely try this "fasting" thing.
I'll have you know that I live in Mom's upstairs room. Not because I'm lazy either. In case nobody has noticed the economy and society is being imploded by government / corporate joint effort so if people have to live together with their parents in this manner I really think the current socio-economic situation should be considered. The Kybalion states that every cause has an effect and every effect has a cause. It may not be as simple as it can appear when these situations come to be. Just saying. 1:05:05 At the risk of sounding like a kiss ass I will say that I truly feel moved and it's difficult to hear your own truths held up for all to see so you can acknowledge them, but very necessary or be stuck in a rut. This is the best thing I could have heard if not the best thing I have ever heard on RUclips. Holy f#*& Thank you Mr. Joseph.
Your point is valid, that's actually true. Nonetheless, it's possible to rise to a position that allow you to be economically independent if you value that more than comfort. (fellow INTP)
I’m sorry but the first half comes across as cope. Even if it’s true the cope status does not change.
It's funny you suggest us to fast - I literally just applied to go to a Vipassana meditation retreat next month, no snacks and devices and books allowed only meditation so talk about torture for the Si child! I applied because I wanted to calm and discipline my restless mind and in contrast, my lethargic body. I'm an aspiring energy worker and my main message is for fellow neurodivergent people to take responsibility for their lives to gain real freedom, so your point on being responsible really hit home for me. Thanks for making this content free, it's invaluable for all us INTPs.
Me as an INTP currently grinding on Diablo IV, Khan academy and IT degree so I can gain enough XP to make it out of the mother's basement realm.
That's literally how you do it, let's get it man.
You will hate this, but you will make massively more progress going out and learning to socialize/sell/dress well than gaining marginally more internet points on khan academy. Keep working on the degree, but switch out the gaming and khan academy for these irl things.
Havn't watched you in years Joseph but nice to see you still rocking MBTI.
Wish you the best and thanks for free teaching!
Called out at the exact right moment
I've chased (no pun) myself in circles about the world and misinformation and political gridlock and what one can do as an activist, and realized suddenly that the reason I do it instead of actually contributing is that I'm not able to accept any work on my part that can't completely fix the entire thing.
If my contribution would only be a partial contribution by many people, and even worse the collective effort isn't guaranteed to bear fruit, then I just can't make myself do it.
Instead I keep looking for that 'even better' solution that will completely fix all of humanity.
It’s highly likely that you will never find a sweeping solution that you can perform on your own to perfectly save the world, and you don’t accept partial solutions or solutions where the effort is shared by other people, so logically speaking doesn’t this mean you should quit this endeavor?
@@ABC-jq7ve Of course, I was talking about what I realize I've been doing after it's done. It's not like we all don't sometimes have mental habits that we can sort of tell are wrong while doing them.
Was waiting for this one for a long time...
This video definitely seems to be more geared towards young, immature, typically male INTPs (porn, netflix, video games, momma's basement, etc), but it's still helpful and interesting.
Have you observed any divergent patterns from this with older &/or less common female INTPs? Being raised in a family of sensors and feeler types, in a spiritual/church setting, and roofing for my dad's company throughout my youth, all added strain but balance to my INTP type. Nature/DNA/cognitive function preferences is one important part of our personality, but there's also nurture/family/our experiences/choices/health/etc. It took years and a deep dive into cognitive functions for me to accurately figure out my type, since this non-conformity to the stereotype and my lack of self awareness sometimes threw the tests off. Your test and videos helped me a lot, as did many other sources. My experience is somewhat different than this video, but still with much overlap. In case anyone else is struggling with not fitting the typical INTP stereotype, here are some additional thoughts on our cognitive functions and tips.
Ti:
We prioritize our logic for conscious decisions, so we can mind-over-matter a situation (suck it up buttercup), prioritizing what makes Ti sense to us (including what's best for others' Fe feelings) over our Si or unconscious Fi desires. The sacrificial part definitely plays into this. If it's better for my kids and family they definitely take priority, and I think that's the way it should be. Too many selfish people in this world.
We can learn from others' mistakes for decisions rather than physical trial and error (we don't need to experience drugs to know they're addictive and a bad thing to avoid), so I disagree on that point, unless you meant intellectual/research trial and error like fact-checking/critical thinking/seeking out multiple sides of an argument before solidifying our Ti conclusions. We do keep revisiting and readjusting our logical conclusions if necessary as new info is gathered. We don't need to physically experiment if something already makes Ti sense and fits in the logical framework of our mind before we move on to the next idea.
I can design and make a great list of plans and intentions, then move on without execution (I'd much rather delegate that part to a doer).
Te & Se users really help keep us accountable & grounded to the real world, often telling us we're impractical/abstract or in our own heads too much (which is true). We also do worry about others' stupidity, lack of critical thinking and how the majority seems satisfied with cognitive dissonance and just believing almost everything they're told. We doubt most people's rationale and intelligence until they've proven it strong. We also doubt ourselves and our own conclusions all the time, but can only rely on our own logical understanding (Ti not Te) to have any confidence in it by default. Even if we think the other person is smarter or wiser than us - even if it's a theory of Einstein's - we need to understand their Te reasons/facts and where they can fit into our framework in order to last in our memory, our Ti being like mortar for the bricks. Blindly believing something others think (Te) would be like just throwing bricks at the wall of our mind. They won't stick without our Ti.
Many INTPs are agnostic or atheist. Faith/trust/belief in God and others is very difficult for us, continually questioning and doubting, so developing/healing our Fi and having our own positive spiritual and relational experiences that build trust (not relying on others' blindly) are necessary to develop and keep faith. We love MBTI or similar systems for giving us a logical map for navigating this uncomfortable world of relationships and social dynamics.
Ne:
I don't understand why the 2nd function (Ne) would be the last developed if it's our 2nd preference with the 2nd highest amount of energy available to it, compared to the child and inferior functions? INTPs constantly use Ne to gather and connect ideas/info/possibilities, and then funnel them into our Ti logical framework for understanding the world. It's a never-ending, insatiable desire to expand & connect our web of understanding. We also rely on Ne for confidence in social situations...exploring ideas with others and joking around.
I'm always learning and "researching" to the point of intellectual gluttony, without using most of it for anything other than my own personal understanding and decision-making. The research gets interrupted before gaining any level of mastery due to new Ne interest explorations that I keep jumping between. So I understand why he would call us ignorant for that reason. I have 50+ tabs open all the time before I reset my browser again and yesterday my phone complained that I was at 500 tabs with no more room, and the day before ChatGPT said out of memory). Committing to one field for a career might feel like a prison unless there are enough interesting things to learn about and logically build on and branch out towards within that field.
Si:
Si is immature and dopamine an issue. I hate working out and don't do it. I would much rather binge-watch learning (or music) videos on my rocking chair (rocking/stimming is my Si habit since I was a baby) and let the dishes sit in the sink. I am sincerely annoyed that I can't just plug in to recharge like a robot rather than the nuisance of eating or sleeping. Throughout my youth I was always a very hard worker able to ignore my body for the sake of getting the job done (pulling all nighters in school until I couldn't see straight, or working very long hours on the roof). I am usually a last minute procrastinator, not naturally good with time management (so I rely on alarms for this). The motivating Fe desire for father's approval gave me the drive I needed to work very hard and achieve that A average degree and get those roofs done well, braving long hours of hard work. I wouldn't drink, try drugs or touch porn growing up because of Ti mind-over-matter for a good decision, Fe accountability and also Fi spiritual experiences and values being raised in church. As an adult drinking slowly became an issue, so I did have to will-power quit that, although I found it very difficult. If I didn't have kids and lived alone without that great Fe motivator, I'm sure I'd be more lazy and less accountable. Fe does really help keep our Si vices in check.
Fe:
It helps us to be sensitive, kind and caring towards others, but we can get distracted from what we were trying to say in person, when our fearful inferior Fe gets in the way. We can worry too much about awkwardness or hurting the other person's feelings. We can be too people pleasing, hiding our true thoughts to avoid any sort of social disharmony. So we do really care, but this can seriously sap our energy, so we can flip to Fe apathy & flight (kindly get the F-outta-my-face mode) for self-preservation. We tend to self-isolate and not want people to bother us to avoid the Fe overwhelm. Someone just showing up at our front door for a visit is absolutely not welcome, but we'd probably care too much about their feelings to tell them that. I'd unfortunately rather jump into the bathtub and make someone else answer the door than be bombarded like that, although I have learned to just deal with it when unavoidable. Unhealthy INTPs (mental or physical) especially have to conserve energy, so they're more likely to run from Fe energy-draining social situations or become apathetic or rude.
TIPS:
Prioritizing mental, physical & spiritual health (Si and emotional Fi) is so important to have the energy to be there for others.
1. Physical/mental: Exercise, sleep on schedule, eat healthy (whole foods), sunlight, fresh air, be in nature (maybe start gardening/growing your own food on a small scale?), lots of water, limit or ditch alcohol, etc. He mentioned fasting, which detoxes and also helps us out of our Si rut (I've tried this in the past...even fasted music, rocking chair and screens once, which was the most difficult but constructive fast I've ever done for getting practical things done (way more than food).
2. Spiritual: INTPs tend to depress easily and can feel like life and any goals are meaningless. I know we don't all believe in this, but God, faith and spirituality really helps balance out the weaknesses of INTPs. Their demon Fi function can instead become their faith function. In the areas we're most weak we can surrender and be most reliant on God's strength, which supernaturally shines through in those weak moments of surrender. Prayer/worship/guidance/believing I do have a purpose higher than myself, trusting in God (not my own strength), and the experiences and faith that followed has lifted me straight out of a depressed hopeless pit many times. The idea of God's perfect love, will and plan (based on a whole, ultimate Truth encompassing all knowledge past, present & future and lasting eternally) seems like the best cause worth the energy to pursue (INTPs need the goal to be very big picture and great to be worth it). To love God and people, to heal, strengthen and limit the suffering of others, to fulfill one's purpose for being here, etc. We need to find worthy goals bigger than ourselves, but that use our talents to help others and keep us spiritually motivated for a lifetime.
3. Emotional: Force yourself to daily recognize and consciously express your Fi feelings out loud to another person (put an emotion wheel or list on your fridge and for 2min daily, quickly go through each emotion saying "I felt sad/fear/joy/anger/shame/guilt/hurt/lonely when this happened today while the other person says out loud "oh really/wow/hmmm" or something else simple to let your brain hear that they're listening) so your mind doesn't keep you up at night trying to process repressed emotions, and so your body doesn't store those built-up trapped emotions, causing sickness and energy depletion. See "Connection Codes" research for more info and an emotion wheel printout.
4. Talk to a friend you trust or get therapy if you need it, but prepare your thoughts in advance and read it out loud if you need to, so you remember in the moment and don't waste the expensive hour in just your Ti/Ne logical ideas & distracted Fe functions. If you're trying to heal/tame the ugly Fi monsters in the basement, you can't just play with the cute pets upstairs. Don't worry about labels or getting a diagnosis (they're often wrong anyway). Focus on solutions and avoid or be weary of pharmaceuticals (they can be a temporary solution if necessary to avoid something worse).
5. Practice being more aware of your own Fi feelings/values and record them in a phone note or journal when they come up to the surface, maybe when you're listening to music that you connect with emotionally, or while daydreaming, meditating, praying, attempting to write creatively, or while fuming angry like a volcano. You can take a photo or edit & copy/paste the notes into an email to send to your therapist right before your next session.
6. Become accountable to Te & Se users to keep you grounded in the here and now, physical world, and to test your theories with someone more practical. Find an Fe motivator to keep you accountable against Si vices (don't live alone, become needed by others with a job or volunteer work, or even a pet).
7. Definitely avoid porn, other mind garbage, too much tv, social media, video games, drugs/alcohol/nicotine, junk food or other things that are tempting for you to binge with nothing to gain except Si dopamine-additive habits. Possibly even avoid some music or unhealthy/toxic social commitments or anything that keeps your mind stuck in the past & from healing.
8. Starve energy flow to any toxic neural pathways/habits/beliefs for a minimum of 21-30 days to rid them from your unconscious brain, while pumping daily energy into healthy neural pathways you want to build. The more you use a neural pathway/thought, the stronger and more automatic that pathway becomes. Meditate (for 13min/per day), being aware of the thoughts that come into your head and taking them captive/questioning and correcting any negative ones with positive, healthy beliefs & vocal statements.
9. If you have an Si addiction (like alcohol or junk food), take advantage of the easiest times to quit (like when/if you ever feel unwell/sick or have another sufficient distraction to get over the most difficult first days). Your weak Si won't feel like drinking or consuming junk when you feel sick. Then use your Ti mind-over-matter skills to get it out of the house and keep avoiding it even after you feel better.
Technology aids:
10. Use technology to help organize your research and creative ideas/thoughts/questions into useful databases that could potentially be revisited, expanded on and used toward your future (Ni) projects, for setting actual goals and for potential career path guidance (instead of just forgetting what you learned years later). Consider asking ChatGPT how to integrate with tools like Notion and Obsidian. Your chats with ChatGPT can upload into these databases, creating a viewable web of your mind so you can make more connections between ideas and see the overlaps of what you're most passionate about that you might want to pursue, projects you could create or invent, etc. You can also prompt ChatGPT to always give you counter arguments and opposing perspectives (Te) to help verify facts and test/strengthen the validity of your conclusions and ideas. You can also use it for self-therapy, for speeding up internet research, etc.
11. To make up for Se blind and how much I suck at any amount of routine or time management, it's really helped me to set automatic phone alarms set to repeat for weekly/daily scheduled things I need to remember for my family and myself. They go off throughout the day to keep me on track...even when to make supper, go to bed, take supplements, stretch, drive my kids to extracurriculars, work, etc. I'm also heavily reliant on my maps app to get me places, and in my phone contacts I write people's names and their spouse/kids/parents' names or whatever else I should remember about them right after I meet them (something I can remember enough to search in contacts), because I'm terrible at remembering names and faces. This has helped me and even my Se-dom spouse (I'll search in my contacts the answer to their question and then text them someone's name or other info right before they talk to them again).
12. Try. You're not a loser. You got this. Life will get better if you try.
@@CricketRodeo that is just brilliant, thank you, I might just print it out and pin it on the wall!
I also grew up in feelers household (plus artistic and unstable) so it took me a long time to figure out I was an INTP. Great to read your input. I was wondering what field of work you are in now and how it is working out for you?
I think your lecturing and pointing out some harsh truths about me is exactly what I needed to hear. I'll probably be re-watching/re-listening this many times before I actually fix most these things.
About the part about INTPs having difficulty participating in education though, I have an inherently negative view of the education system because I know that the systems that most countries use, definitely in the West, are based on the Prussian system which purpose is to pump out basically drones who are good at following orders and are loyal to the state and not well educated and well informed, competent individuals.
I personally think the education system needs to be changed because I think it needs to serve those participating in it first and foremost, I'd suggest cutting taxes massively and then privatising the education system to stimulate competition and through that some methods will be more successful than others, stimulating innovation which will then in the long run result in higher quality education and more affordable education.
This is an amazing video. I could almost see it a flow chard or a skill tree. I feel that moderation is part of the key. Moderation for Si child. Moderation in doing new at first just to get the ball rolling. For me sharing with the world is the hardest part, so I do it in moderation. I don't fully understand why I have to share with the world, but if its my part I guess it wouldn't hurt.
Hilarious when Chase says in annoyed voice: Worshiping Nintendo Switch.
Just about Time!!
As an INTP I'm not normally one to accept criticism without turning it into a civil debate at best and a flat-out argument at worst because it's easy to poke holes in people's arguments...but this was very easy to listen to and take in. your criticisms are more forthright than most which works because...well...you're actually right. 100%. You might be the first person I've seen criticize us without any errors😂kudos, and thank you. This helped.
ENTJ women have it rough. Should be smooth sailing if things get serious between my ENTJ crush and I.
ENTJ!
@ ENFP here.
21:50 you are talking about Vegeta's Super Saiyan Blue Ascended. Also yeah you should see the broly movie. Its quite old now that its the end of 2024 december, but its good. Wonder what type you think Broly is. He is forced to go berserk due to the LSSJ state so idk how you would map his personality since most of his interactions are him not saying much
STOP!!!👀 😂😅 the title. 😂Too good.
Great lecture. Would be interesting to hear further of your thoughts regarding mental health diagnosis for INTP’s especially for things such as ADHD and autism.
While those things are actually very real and can be seen in brain scans (pre frontal cortex has a weaker effect on the limbic system) the symptoms are very much in line with the NTP types.
Not every NTP has these conditions so it’s not causal but the correlation is strong. Surely some NTP’s can be misdiagnosed with these conditions.
I have Aspergers and ADHD. I was typed as INTP and I came to find out that most of this mbti stuff was BS.
It's not real. I have DNA evidence of my prefrontal cortex and limbic system being smaller.
Sad part is, people who are hardwired like me have been labelled as INTP, such as einstein, elon.
These individuals were actually autistic with real brain differences. Random people identifying as INTP do not fit into this category. My behaviour differs from them.
Do not learn from CSJ he is not a professional psychologist. The big 5 personality system is a much better personality test as the data is backed by different brain regions.
CSJ literally went around telling INTPs they can be brilliant and change the world. Truth is, most can't. Not everyone has an IQ in the abnormal range with abnormal personality traits.
I got diagnosed as PDD-NOS which is autism light? It ended up just being my specific type that led them to believe i had signs of autism. Many INTPs are walking around thinking they are autistic while they're not. I see it as a framing of the type to discredit INTPs to an certain extend. Knowledge is power after all.
@@jhinthevirtuoso4886 I definitely agree on this, that's a cause of a lot of misdiagnoses in my opinion. Real ADHD/autism is NOT a character trait, that's the real distinction.
Having a biologically weaker PFC top-down control is not due to character or personality.
@@jhinthevirtuoso4886 Makes sense. This is why I was forced to see a psychiatrist since the age of six because my behaviors confused and frustrated my parents and teachers. Maybe they thought I was "autistic," too? Because I remember that I was forced to see psychiatrists until I became old enough to choose to say "no" to this at the age of 14. Recently, I was forced to see a psychiatrist and misdiagnosed as having a "manic" episode after experiencing a particularly traumatizing event (my "hysterical" reaction to it turned out to be Fe grip, so actually normal in my case), while, when I saw another psychiatrist who asked me a bunch of personal questions (like my past, social life, orientation, etc., which made me uncomfortable), he asked my parents if autism was ever tested and if I was formally diagnosed with it (which I took offense and said no).
I knew there wasn't anything wrong or "different" about me, but everyone pointed out that was socially ostracized and very "weird" and disagreeable as a child, so had to grow up with remarks that I was "slow" or had Asperger's Syndrome. But then I learned about mbti/cognitive functions, which deals a lot with left brain/right brain preference shown on brain scans (or something I've read before), also reading comments from other xNTPs that they were diagnosed with autism or ADHD, and it makes sense. I mean, Einstein's elementary teachers all had similar issues with him, too, so maybe this is a common problem for us. Helps less that we're only 3% of the global population, so of course most people find us "weird."
So: fasten of pleasures and help others (ego), but do it humbly (subconscious) so you accept others' truths and your own value (inconscious). Is that it?
That was an amazing summary, but humbly speaking it’s easier said than done
My biggest problem is that I am mildly successful (I have my own apartment, I have an easy job that doesn’t pay amazing but it’s justified for how ridiculously easy it is, and I have my life long passion of math, and I’m doing ok socially, and I am pretty healthy overall). So I have zero motivation to try any harder. Could I get a higher paying job? Sure I could, but why would I? I already have everything I need. Could I push forward into a more challenging career? Sure I could, but why would I? I already have everything I need. So I am stuck. Technically I have "won" already, since I want for nothing, and have achieved whatever wealth neccessary for my personal contentment. My intellectual needs are met with the challenges of pure math. But I cannot deny the feeling that I am stuck.
On one hand some of this is useful. The best thing that has ever happened to me is losing internet access for a month. On the other hand... If you developed an INTP personality from being parentified as a child, a lot of this echoes what is already driving you to a hikikomori life. Further, the experience of life as a female INTP differs wildly from the male INTP, particularly regarding sex. Personally, sex is not the gateway to adulthood. Also there is a disturbing number of men whose type is hot mess.
Appreciate the harsh truth as always!
What's the point of developing Se trickster, becoming a performer at what 80 yo ?
never gonna move outa this attic, sorry. can't get over the fact that i missed the train of life anyways.
Appreciate you throwing a few bones to the Faith; thanks.
I am typing consistently as INTP on your test, as well as a couple other ones. (I obviously needed proof from more than one source.) I used to type as INFP as a child but T makes much more sense now so I will be adjusting my thoughts/actions to reflect this change in type and hopefully develop myself accordingly. Your lectures are both insightful and entertaining. A rare feat indeed.
I don’t think you're an INTP based on the thought process you expose in your comment. It seems like you're seeking confirmation by relying on a sufficient number of external sources, which reflects a Te process. An INTP’s approach would involve understanding the data and testing it to determine what is true in order to form their own understanding of the type. Then, they would test it on themselves to identify their type. The results of an external test wouldn’t matter as much. That is a Ti process.
INTPs and INFPs are very similar, 50% of their functions being essentially the same. Therefore, it’s easy to confuse them, and many of the things that CS Joseph says about INTPs would likely apply to INFPs as well!
@@marc-olivierhebert5191 Interesting. Maybe, maybe not. Would be curious what my writing style exposes.
@@sarinaOlson84 Not your writing style. You described how you tried to figure out your type. The process a Te user and a Ti user would use to answer this question is very different, and yours is a Te approach!
@marc-olivierhebert5191 I did simplify my process a bit here for the sake of not going on and on. I did not just look at the test results alone or blindly accept them as such without looking into the data. I am definitely a introvert in the real world, intuitive without a doubt and perceiving I am certain of based off everything I know and have seen/read but the T and F are more blurry for me.
@@sarinaOlson84 It is because it’s the wrong way of looking at it. Everyone thinks and feels. ESFJs are Ti users, and ENTJ are Fi users. Even being intuitive doesn’t necessarily make you an N. ESTJs can also exhibit intuition because of their use of Ne. Comparing yourself solely to the letters of a type can lead to doubt, as you may notice that your behavior changes depending on the situation.
I recommend learning more about cognitive functions and how they manifest and interact. There are plenty of videos and good readings on this channel that could help you better understand how your mind works!
As an INTP female you read me like a book lol
Can you drop these kind of videos every three months please.
Hmm, I'm always controlling my addictions, but let's start fasting metal and rock music for two weeks... 👊🏻
I got ENFP on your test. I'm actually an ESTP.
Oh man, posted 3 days ago!?❤ jackpot 🎰
I swear, asking us what we should do etc etc. You can't use that as an arrgument because you're basically a surprize bye bye social battery
INTP here and damn I needed this.
As a male INTP I wonder which of these 6 types will most likely be my life partner: ISFP, INFJ, ENFJ, ESFP, ENTJ, or INTJ.
All is good, try them all and take the conclusion for yourself.
Probabilistically, an ESFJ or INFP.
Esfp is your duality. It last the longest
@@t.6071 where are the stats to back that up? Genuine question
@@yutu... I have several friendships with ESFPs.
iPhone is perfection
Thank you 🙏
I swear intps just watch this content to understand themselves better
My way was by having an INTJ dad, with whom I literally built a house lol
You said, that you gave your INTP apprentice 15 books to read, was it the Entrepreneurship Series on your /reading part of your Website?
I would need to learn your system to better understand some of your revelations here, but there are many truths I can relate to. Do you think being an ENTP makes you more likely to develop your own logical framework for MBTI that diverges from most of the MBTI sources out there? I get gold nuggets from your channel that I won't find elsewhere, which I highly appreciate for expanding my understanding.
I don't quite understand the order of functions we should develop or why that order. Our preferences are Ti, Ne, Si, Fe, but you said we develop Ne last even though it has the 2nd most amount of energy? Why? You mentioned we should focus on further developing our gateway functions first (Ti, Te, Fe, then Fi?) of each of the 4 sides of mind, followed by the parent functions (Ne, Ni, Si, then Se?). How should we go about this and is it realistic to focus so much energy on weak energy-draining functions, or should we just make up for our weaknesses by surrounding ourselves with differing types and technology to bridge the gap? For example, to manage my Se-blind time management and direction deficiencies, I heavily rely on my phone alarms going off all throughout the day, and on my maps app to get anywhere (or I'd get lost)...this doesn't strengthen my Se but does make up for it's weakness. I'm not sure if I'd be wasting energy by navigating without it, allowing myself to get lost (to help strengthen those Se neural pathways to gain better direction awareness?) or not. Maybe I should continue to bridge the gap with technology until my functions are more developed enough to not need them? I don't know if that will ever happen though?
29:26 So true though 😂
Why do i feel hes actually frustrated with intps
Everyone is, even INTPs are frustrated with themselves.
INTP's are tho Coolest :) Shoutout to all the bad-ass INTP chicks out there !
I wonder if my childhood issue, that i somehow overcame, where i could never ever under any circumstance admit to others that I was wrong even if i realized i was wrong and i would gaslight knowingly to avoid the emotional toll it would take to admit i was wrong, is the very thing that ENTJs going into their INTP shadow will sometimes do?
Am i wrong about that?
Not admitting your are wrong for the purpose of maintaining your ego is a non-INTP thing to do. To an INTP, the logical correctness is far more important than how something looks socially, or how it feels emotionally.
@@ABC-jq7ve INTPs aren't invulnerable to ego at all.
The difference is that we value strongly not prioritizing ego when we become self aware of our actions.
Are we getting new content after this series or are you gonna keep dropping old content?
Just curious.
I agree. He keeps repeating the same points
Hello cs Joseph I am the intp you’ve been looking for I’ve even created a new type intf that is all mbti put together and what chat GPT identifies me as
And yes I have paid for your content before and it has helped me immensely
wait why is Vegeta an INTP?
Does that mean Elon Musk is an enlightened INTP? He has a very well developed Ni willpower, Si discipline and Se physics
He is a UD INTP
VAGETA IS AN INTP????
when infp?
Elon Musk (INTP/INTJ) = top Diablo player
He's an INTP
@ yes with an INTJ subtype
@@rajunaidu7751u mean ENTJ unconscious
@@sonicmaths8285 no cos he’s a Ni dom. in INTJ secondary is TE. I’m an INTJ/INFJ but I come across as a INFP fairy
No one fits into one catergory of the myers briggs its a spectrum of inferior functions underlying dominant like turbulent and assertive i should know i was infp then intj till i rounded to a infj the es functions only surface when im engaged in mutual respect
😊
Vegeta is definitely not a INTP😂😂 are you out of your mind?
So what type is he then? Keep in mind that vegeta is UDUF (at least in Z)
@ INTP would be informative/responding + intelectual. He is definitely not the type to be informative(though he is responding and intelectual). So then he would be INTJ on Joseph’s chart interaction style x temperament chart.
And even if that chart is not reliable, Vegeta’s obsession with his pride and competition is a very J thing… if he was P he would be more detached…
I am an INTP and from my observation of myself and other INTPs I don’t think any of us would run around shouting about our “Sayan” pride…. Plus we tend to have verbal diarrhea when explaining things, seeking completeness over conciseness. Vegeta would just go straight to the point and be finished.
That's precisely an intp behavior when in unconscious mode. @@SeekingUltimateSynthesis
@ he is never informative ever. So not really~
Also ENTJ is Initiating, which isn’t really very Vegeta like either~
Yes he is. UDUF ones have a more developped trickster and demon function. For men, it's the Fi demon.
Vegetas ENTJ
Agreed. Lol he threw me off with that one
Your format+demeanor+voice tone and rythm is utterly boring. I wanna know what you have to say but at the same time I wanna off myself at how boring you are.
Anyway. I won't watch it, thank you for trying. I love you.
Some of us think he’s anything but boring.
I just watch at 1.5 x
