- Hello and welcome to episode 5 of Adventure Now aboard sailing yacht Altor of Down, our Moody 44. Please join us on our adventure as explore Bodø in Norway and then visit Nordskot. Then we sail on to the Island of Skrova in the Lofoten Islands and drop the anchor for the first time in Norway in a beautiful anchorage in Raften. The next day we sail on north with a ripping tide to an island called Brottøya where we anchor for one night and fly the drone. We visit the beautiful little town of Risøyhamn, then sail on to an island which is home to muskox - Ryøya, where we moor on a floating pontoon with a little cabin and a wood burning stove. Finally we arrive in Tromsø, our push of point for our trip to Svalbard, where we reconnect with Ed and Beth on Lia and meet their crew for the Svalbard adventure - Sam Holmes!

Beautiful and love watching your adventure. Keep them coming!!!
Thank you Liz. So pleased you enjoy the adventure 👍👍👍
wonderful scenery and brilliant narration as usual 👍
Thank you so much! We are so lucking to see all those places, very inspiring!
Still can’t fathom you skipped Trollfjorden passing through Raftsundet, but maybe you save some gems for the journey south again? 😉
Skipøyosen is a spectacular anchorage, and your drone footage actually swiped over where I grew up. 🥰
Have a nice journey south again, hope you don’t get to much rain.. ⛵️
Hi Arne. Thank you for watching and happy we managed to capture your old home land with the drone. It’s so beautiful and we definitely want to spend more time in Norway in the future. We either discover places by chance along the way or take recommendations so next time we will try to visit Trollfjorden! Thank you again for watching. Asha & Mark
@@AdventureNow Great 🙂
I don't know how you plan this trip and how far you have come going south again, but the western side of Senja and the islands in Vesterålen (Andøya, Langøya, Hadseløya) should definetly be on your list, before heading for the regular tourist spots like Trollfjorden and Lofoten - Svolvær, Henningsvær, Nusfjord, Reine, Værøy and so on...
I am new to your channel and I really enjoyed this video, thanks for sharing the beauty you experience, looking forward to more. Nice to see Sam at the end!
Hi Rudi 🙃 Welcome onboard! Thank you so much for watching and your kind comment, really glad that you have enjoyed it! Sam is a very cool guy, we had a great time together on the adventure to Svalbard. Wishing you all the best! Asha & Mark
Drones are becoming a very useful tool for selecting anchorage
They certainly are! We found a couple by using Google earth but in some we spotted power cables joining some houses across some nice little spots. There was usually another way in but it’s worth keeping an eye out for them. They are marked by signage on the land and also on navionics so shouldn’t be any shocking surprises!!!!
great scenery guys, what work does asha do on the computer eg while on the boat, sam Holmesshowed some good footage of your boat on his channel cheers rob nz.
Hi Rob. Thank you very much. Glad you enjoy the videos. Asha does contract review work for various companies. I don’t profess to fully understand it but it’s great that she can do it remotely!! Mark 😀
Looks fantastic. What is my cat doing on Skrova? I always wondered where he went! Keep up the good work.
I think your cat got the message - Adventure Now! Follow the cat 😉
Just discovered your channel, great stuff. Will be visiting Tromso this summer…maybe by boat from W Scotland (Woods Gypsy cat, 8.5m)
How did you find pilotage. What guides did you use? What are the pontoon fees like, I will be solo on a budget.
Hi Mark. Glad you found us! Thank you for watching. Pilotage isn’t any problem at all. Navionics is very good although we rarely strayed within the 10m contour lines and we didn’t really need to anyway other than on approach to harbours and the entrances seem to be generally well marked. Tromso mooring fees for us were about GBP 40 per night and we are 13m. Sounds like a great trip you have planned. It’s beautiful up there so enjoy! Asha & Mark
Life is a gift. Open it now. 🎁
Indeed, still marvelling at what's in the box! Thank you for watching 🙃
Where was that dock with the little house? It looked really cozy and I wanna go there too.
It’s a cracking little place just off Ryoya island near Tromso. You’ll love it! Thanks for watching 😀
