Well Dave once again you have done it.. You have moved me enthralled me and inspired me to keep plugging ahead with learning to solo, I am 55 years old and have mainly stuck with rhythm sine I sing as well. I have only decided to try soloing only last year and I have learned a lot of box shapes and scales but my solos lack soul and sound so robot like🙃🫤 But like I was saying you have inspired me to trudge on and keep practicing.. Yesterday I discovered your video about the Jet Strat and today this Les Paul. Remember a video from Colin from guitaristas channel about a tele. Seems like decent guitars. RUclips shows me your videos all the time. I love how you can get exited about affordable gear. I have a Eko LP in ‘gold’ Wich looks a lot like this one. Had to do all the work on it you didn’t but hey it was cheaper.

Dave in 2003 Total Guitar had two adverts...one gibbson les Paul platinum.. This guitar reminds me of it...the other a cream 1950s spec maple neck Strat. I bought the strat..... But it was a close call... Thinking this axe as got my name on it.... Thanks for showing it... Had to play this again. Perfect Dave.... Slightly on the dark side Where rock blues should be..
How can I put this? The playing here full blown smokes. No doubt capable and wildly expressive, but its clear things go well beyond that and are about something so much more important, immediately finding purpose like unconscious code built into the blood stream of a creature crawling through the orb of this sonic space. I really enjoyed this one. This guy's talking through the strings and it's rare when you hear a wizard cast a spell like this as if it were as simple as breathing air. So good!
I really like that guitar! It is an LP, but it has it's own thing going on too. You did it justice, Dave. So glad you got the word out on those! That thing has a great raw bluesy rock tone...
I just ordered one an hour ago, gonna change the plastic and knobs to black and the chrome to gold from my old Samick silverburst LP. Have a set of spare Klusons laying here too. Maybe I do the Green mod and put in some orange drop cap's.

Got the JS400 last year, been gigged or rehearsed every week, solid and reliable, replaced the stock single coils with IronGear pups, stock ok, but not quite there for me, rock solid guitar, only thing negative was the trem springs, a cheap fix, for money, very good guitars, tbf it has its own unique character, I think the Jet LP needs to be played against the HB 550, the Jet looks more true to a Gibbo,?

Seeing the Jet JL500 it does seem to share a lot of similarities with my Artist LP59,the rounded bottom horn,the rosewood fretboard,which I believe is probably eco rosewood and my Artist LP is not a tear drop burst either which like you ,I would have preferred,so I do wonder if they are made in the same factory.I removed the neck pickup on my Artist and was surprised for the price of the guitar to find it had a long tenon neck,I wonder if the Jet would be the same.
I wonder about the necktennon too. I have an Eko LP with this exact body and in the ‘gold’ Dave mentioned. Artist uses the same color on their model. My Eko has a long necktennon. Different wood and cheaper. Must be the same factory too. Was looking at an artist but they don’t sell here in the Netherlands and UK doesn’t ship to us.
Looks lovely Dave. But can't really justify it as I'm in double figures collection wise, and have a nicely playing Pelham blue Epiphone Les Paul. I've got the sunburst Strat and Tele by Jet though, they are great! ☺

Your Jet Strat is a JS 400 and your Esquire a JT 300.btw I bought a Jet Tele after you recommended their necks and love it (JT 350 with neck humbucker)and fancy an LP for a change of tone .This one sounds great so no reservations buying one as long as its not too heavy .Do you know the weight of yours?

I hate people making comments about my appearance/hair. When I was in my late teens/early twenties I got lots of hassle for having long rock/metal style hair when it was a bit out of fashion and made me stand out. Got told I looked like a girl, insulted for being ‘gay’, got called a hippie, got told I was greasy, got told I looked like a dirty gypsy, all sorts of things. People I didn’t know seemed determined to interact with me in a horribly negative way. It was deeply unpleasant, unnecessary and none of their business.

Personally the gold and cream hardware on the silver burst drew me in, love the combination of modern and vintage style it pulls off.

There are good budget instruments. Aria etc. Then theres a few that are taking that budget price to whole new levels. And Jet seem to be one of those

Shaved heads look awful and brutalist. Enough people walking around with extreme shaved short back and sides. Can't stand the sight of them.
