If you have an Infinity Sound System, you need to install the other connector because it turns on the amp, otherwise it has sound but it won't output very much volume. If you have a base radio then you don't need that connector 'cause the car doesn't come with an amp.
@@mercutio3333 hey what other connecter do I need to instal? I have the infinity system and I’m struggling with getting sound through my new aftermarket touch screen
@@Xezthos So if you buy the same wiring harness kit as he did in this video, it should come with a mini iso connector with an amp wire coming off of it. You need to connect it to the connector shown at 6:56 (Yellow green blue). I'm actually making a video on how to build a wiring harness that retains all the OEM accessories (USB, AUX, microphone and steering wheel controls). Hopefully I'll have it up in a couple of weeks. I've been procrastinating on it.
I did this install with so many issues I had to add blue wire to turn on my factory amp because my 2010 has a premium audio system with a factory amp first I had no sound till I added the blue wire and turned on the factory amp though my head unit now my left driver speaker doesn't work couldn't figure that out I also have subwoofer pop every time I start music and whenever it ends. also, I have a hiss or static noise that hurts my ears all my connections are soldered really well so it's not that if anyone has any thoughts I would love to know before I put my old radio back in.
i hate the interior on genesis coupes, so plain jane. That and the looks makes me lean more towards an infiniti G37. Much better interior and better sound system.
Why... Why you buy a dual radio!? Terrible brand. You could of gotten a pioneer touchscreen for the same price! But good job on a clean install 👍.Will probably be installing a touchscreen in my Genesis soon!
Great video very helpful now i know what it takes to change the head unit on my genesis.
Bruh thanks this helped a ton
im glad it helped you i ran into a lot of issues before making the video because i couldnt find info anywhere
Great video Im looking to do the same thing to my car. Can you post the links so I can find which bezel and carplay work together
How do u hook the amp up tho? If u skip it will the sub still work
I have an after market radio but do i need ground cable?
How is the stereo holding up?
Did you have to get a by pass for it ?
Any updates on the bezzel? I heard about short fitment on the manual climate control thats why im not so sure :( I have 2010 Genesis coupe 2.0T Base
So far I’ve had no problems with thi I actually like how it looks and fits
Their anyway u can send the links to all the stuff you bought to do this?
Did all the speakers work? Did you use the other connector that the wiring kit came with?

I've finished my video on custom wiring harness. Check it out my channel.
@@mercutio3333 are you selling this ?
Did you end up using the buttons on your steering wheel? What about the usb and aux connector inside the center console
I didn’t have any buttons on my steering wheel and I deleted the usb on the center console and put it where the cigarette lighter was

My 2011 comes with a nav system already but I want apple car play instead idk if it’s gonna work
It might be different
Can you link the wire harness you bought
I’ll try to find it but I bought it from Best Buy they have exact fit
have some questions based on install?
Yes sorry for the late response
Are the steps for 2010 Genesis 3.8 sedan ?
yes they should be the same
What is the size of the deck? 7”?
Yes 7
I’m kinda new with radios but I hate that my 2010 doesn’t have Bluetooth except for phone calls and stuff
I’m switching mine out rn 😂 bit of a challenge if u have the premium infinity sound system
What’s the link to buy the stereo ?
now after some time of using that stereo i realize that it wasnt the best but therere a ton of options out there any radio thtas 6-7 inch would work
What about the top screen. What happens to that
The top screen is useless so I did an tablet install
@@backyardprojects. can i see what that looks like?

You get 2 and only use a few wires I believe
@@backyardprojects. so the orange harness for the amp you don’t use :/
@@ceddthakid9732You don’t need to use the other wire that comes with the metra kit unless your car comes with an infiniti stereo amp system
