Goodnight California is - IMO - her absolutely most stunning song. AND the mastering is also brilliant!!!! - must have listened to this song hundreds of times - and at times three times in a row. An amazing 6:30 minute song -- Big thanks....
Kathleen is seriously talented. And like many great artists she's rather complicated too. I hope she can find her balance within a music industry that honestly doesn't deserve her.
Not just a great singer/songwriter, but also a great musician. The fiddle work is not complicated, but the writing, syncopation, melodies, and professionalism is really impressive. Just great musicianship all around.
I just adore this song. You can just feel it and she had to have lived it. It helped me in the past and I still love the way it makes me feel when I hear this song.
I was hoping the violin part would go on a bit longer but when Gord starts with the at solo, I was lost. Time expanded and slowed so as to allow me to live inside that solo. Time restarted when it ended and I was so much older...
When music hits you in the gut like this,it reminds you that you are alive and that there are other people hurting in the world..but what they do is turn it into art that looks and sounds like this..
Oh but if only I were good at writing as she is at her music! So much I see and feel and hear in this piece. I have watched every video she has on this number, and each is great and each is different! There is so much going on in these- the raw emotions are so intense. I feel I am seeing something that is not just a song, or just a video. It is a look into Kathleen's soul, and its awesome. All I can do is ramble on, loving her doing it. Its close to intercourse.
Where has 10 years gone? Why is Kathleen Edwards not recognised for the shining star that she is? Will she ever tour again? So many questions So few answers
Yes, absolutely! This was one of her last shows before "quitting". Her three encore songs were especially poignant. If you can find it, "Mercury" finished the show and while it didn't get the same kind of views as this, it's still my favorite!
@@paulelliott3220 Yes! A dear friend recently did pre order a digital copy for me! Such a lovely gift! Since I live in Argentina getting a copy of the album in any other format is really complicated... So I'm really looking forward agust 14th.
VicToria M Ah that’s really lovely to hear ... it’s a wonderful gift and very thoughtful of your friend - I’m sure it’s going to be another Kathleen Edwards record to cherish Sorry that getting hold of different formats in Argentina is so problematic Sometimes the digital copy is a lifeline Stay safe
That's ok, I think I was probably 200 of the first 300 views. I got some great video from what was one of her last shows before "retiring". It was exceptional and really poignant, especially the last 2 songs - Bellevue 12 and Mercury. Aleksandra, feel free to watch it another 350 times - Kathleen's music deserves the attention. It's great to have her back!
Burnt out and mansplained out of the business this amazing talent is working a coffee shop on the outskirts of Ottawa. So many things wrong with this world.
She was dealing with a lot of depression issues due to not just the music business but also the breakup over her marriage. She decided to take a break and open a coffee shop. She seems much happier now and has been doing a few performances here and there. I see her coming back at some point.
How dafuk is this artist not better recognized? It's one of life's mysteries.

Gord Tough can lay it down
This song never fails to pierce my heart. So great to see it played live. ❤️

Just stop by every now and again to watch this. One of my favorites. Kathleen is awesome on the violin and Gord Tough, what a solo.

Ich kann nicht mehr aufhören dieses Lied, diese Version zu hören.......einfach Mega.....eine Künstlerin der man ansieht das sie Musik lebt und liebt

Absolutely wonderful version
Kathleen’s fiddle playing on this is fantastic
Wonderful in every way
If you look up the Ken Rockburn interview with her, you’ll find out that she was in lessons as a kid, and even played with the local youth orchestra.
I am glad I have seen this. I am glad there is a musician who feels music like this.
My new favorite artist :)
Simply love her 🤠🎸
One of the best ballads by anyone...
Original studio version is a thing of beauty, this goes beyond that
can this be downloaded to i-tunes
Check out Blue Rodeo, "5days in may"
You know Michael, this song makes me cry my eyes out, no kitting. It's so amazingly beautifully painful.
YES studio version is beyond stunning - amazing mastering as well.
Perfect song !! And with the sound of Hammond organ a Great moment.
This is one of my best video list! So beautiful!
The violin solo from 2:50 to about 4:20 is a thing of wonder. Gorgeous and heartbreaking.

Absolute, haunting perfection. Glad she's back after taking time out for herself.

OH! So powerful. All of it. xo
too much perfection.
No words........just...........x
I felt there was some Neil Young influence on this. A lovely track👍
Beginning harkens back to ‘Cortez the Killer’.
"Mint" also has heavy Neil overtones.
Wonderful!
I think I'm responsible for the last 350 views. AMAZING!

Reminds me of Low PQ, Martindale Road in the early 70's
Why isn’t Kathleen Edwards a mega-star???
She’s an indie?
What a babe! .. Wish I was young enough to marry her
I would love to see and hear Kathleen with Sara Harmer and Sara M.,

JoAnn Evans I had no idea, that is absolutely criminal...
Yep...mind you, she OWNS the coffee shop. facebook.com/QuittersCoffee/

She has come back stronger than ever.
Jesus Christ!!!!!!!!!
All her music sounds the same-dreary.
