【四つの民】
十九世初めに作られた京都の手事物です。
作曲者は松浦検校で【宇治巡り】【四季の眺】【深夜の月】とともに「松浦の四つ物」と呼ばれています。
四つの民は、九州系地歌の貴重な伝承曲ですあり、秘曲として伝えられてきました。
歌詞は曲名の通り民に対する四つの分類、すなわち「士」「農」「工」「商」に携わる人々を歌います。
「士」の部分では鎧に桜が降り弓は袋の中にある平和な時代の武士の姿を描写しています。
「農」の部分では安心して田畑を耕し月を楽しみながら薪を担いで働く農民の姿を描写しています。
「工」では雨露霜を凌ぐ宮殿や神社、庶民の家も建てる大工の姿を歌い、機織りや染織にいそしむ職人の姿を歌います。
最後は「商」の部分で姿や言葉は賤しくとも衣を売る商人の心は優しいと歌い納めます。
Yotsu no tami
This is a tegotomono from Kyoto composed at the beginning of the 19th century.
It’s composed by Matsuura Kengyo.
“Yotsunotami” is a valuable piece of Kyuushukei jiuta lore, and has been handed down as a secret piece.
The lyrics, as the name of the song suggests, describe the four categories of people: samurai, farmers, artisans, and merchants.
The "Shi" part depicts a samurai in peaceful times, with cherry blossoms falling on his armor and his bow in his pouch.
The "Noh" part depicts farmers working in peace, plowing their fields, enjoying the moon, and carrying firewood.
In the "Kou" section, the song describes carpenters and craftsmen who build palaces and shrines that shelter people from rain, dew, and frost, as well as homes for the common people.
The final part of the song, "Sho" (merchant), sings that despite his appearance and words are lowly, the merchant who sells clothes has a kind heart.
