By watching these live performances, I just realized how good the Night of the Stormrider album really is.
That part at 4:25 is insane how fast and tight it is. Few bands would be able to pull this kind of tightness off with almost no mistakes at all throughout the whole concert.
You sure you got your time stamp right? That part is the most straight forward part as far as the strings go. It’s the respite you look forward to after all the galloping punishment.. and the cue for drums to come in as he counts on the hats is straight 4/4 on a cliche picking pattern. Quite easy to glue together with the rhythm section. This is the least punishing part of the song, but it is easily the coolest sounding part 😎 All that epic rhythmic tension builds to an epic rhythmic release 💦
Pure historical moments right there.
One of my favorite live performances for sure! the sound is just perfect and their performance is incredible. Iced Earth in their prime.
Probally the best libe album i have ever heard. This song got me into iced earth.
You should listen to "Iron Maiden, Live After Death". That is on of the best live albums ever.
For a really superb live recording you should also try "Alestorm Live in Tilburg - 2019 video" There you can see how good the video and audio engineering is.

I love Barlow's work with Iced Earth. I love Night of the Storm Rider (Album) especially.
That being said, I don't dig the re-working of the opening vocal melody. Everything else rocks but re-working the songs intro takes away from some of the terror and buildup.
