This kit works, but if you want to know what it really takes to patch your tire, this video shows the realities. This two dollar kit does not come with rubber cement The rubber cement helps the plug glide and the place better. The handles are kind of small, and you’ll see that it’s a challenge to get enough leverage to get the ream into the tire and put the plug in. Plugs like this are really intended for a temporary fix, then a plug that requires removing the tire could be installed later. fyi the rubber cement is acting as lube when you insert the plug and make it much easier, then when dry everything bond together.

I never used rubber cement and the plugs always sealed properly , but I should stop driving over any kind of debris on the pavement

This is the first time I’ve tried it without rubber cement, it’s still working just fine. At some point I’ll probably have the tire shop put a real plug-in. I believe the warranty on the tires covers it. It’s just a real inconvenience to take it in and wait for your car. I think one advantage to rubber cement is that it would make the plug go in a little easier. It’s a bit of a wrestling match without it.
