I loved this show as a kid. This was my TMNT. I owned all the action figures, and watched it religiously.
Same, among Stretch Armstrong, Beetleborgs, and Guyver.
Biker Mice from Mars & Street Sharks were also part of my childhood, apart from TMNT & X-men '92

This was a big part of my childhood along with the TMNT. Would be nice to see this on DVD.

There where some pretty funny connections this show had when it came to the Voice Cast, Lee Tockar who voiced Ripster best known for his work on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (as Snips and at least 8 other roles), Eugene "Bling Bling Boy" Hamilton in Johnny Test, George in George of the Jungle, Doktor Frogg on League of Super Evil, the titular character of Yakkity Yak, the evil Makuta Teridax in the Bionicle films.
Andrew Rannells who Voiced Streex has voiced some notable Anime Dubs including Pokemon, 4Kid's Tokyo Mewmew Dub, Sonic X, Yu-Gi-Oh! Even that CGI Anime Experiment Cubix.
Matt Hill who voiced Jab.... It would refer to him as Surfer-boy for a reason, Voiced Ed from Ed, Ed n Eddy (Making me joke that Ed use to be a member of the Street Sharks and not told Double-D and Eddy) Kevin from Captain-N, and Surprising to me, Voice Kero from Cardcaptors, And from the look of his Wikipedia Page, He's beeing Doing ALOT of Anime Dubs.
It's a shame this Show never did a Crossover with the TMNT, Would have been perfect for the Red-Sky Seasons of that show, though the tone would kinda fit the 2003 Ninja Turtle series.
You should add that Lee even voiced Haxx in the Extreme Dinosaurs show.

1:50 I didn’t even know show even existed but I had that green worm toy with the jagged teeth and purple Mohawk that shoots little things from it’s hands and mouth. I had lots of toys when I was just a small kid but that one stood out the most

Street Shark is a great but I wished the writer and producer have improve the series before it's ended forever as there a lot of unanswer question about the characters appear in Street Shark like :
1.They father Dr. Robert Bolton during the series the Bolton brother never found their father or reunion in the series, also the viewers like me never got to see what Dr. Robert Bolton really looked like as mutant monster all we got was seeing him in a shadow.
2. Lena is a female allied to the Street Shark beside Ben and even though she appeared mostly in the first season but she only appear in two episodes in the second season which doesn't make sense or why she was drawn out of the series like if she's not a popular character at all.
3. I would liked to know what has happened to Slobster and Slash since they were never seen again after Season 1 and what happened to Killamari and Repteel before the appearence of Dino Venger appear because the writers of the the street shark series doesn't haven't been making sense at all.
4.I still wished Moby Lick, Mantaman and El Swordo appear together in a team up with the Street Sharks and the Dino Venger in the final episodes before the series end.
I loved this show as a teen because I was a fan of TMNT, read avidly about sharks, and created my own fantasy anthropomorphic "shark monster" when I was a child in the 70s (I was a "monster movie" fan for as long as I can remember, Godzilla and vampire stories were my tippy-tops). Well, my childhood creation was to sharks what Godzilla was to reptiles... I believe they are called "kaiju" now.
Even though I preferred and still prefer TMNT, here's what I preferred over TMNT on Street Sharks.
1: Their human personalities were because they lived as humans before mutating.
2: They were not faux ninjas who followed the Bushido code, they were just guys making the best out of a bad situation. I wouldn't have that gripe if the TMNT bros followed the Inindo code and were far more ninja/shinobi than bushi.
3: The Street Sharks universe was slightly more realistic. Slightly. Their "swimming through concrete" thing killed that a lot.
Now, if they somehow made a big-screen version of them, I *WILL* be the first old guy to show up and watch the movie.

I didn't know my dad was an abusive full-of-crap POS yet and just accepted him throwing away my drawings, stats, and hand-crafted model I spent a year perfecting as a "Colossal waste of time." Dumb^ss wanted me to be a clone of him or something.
They had cool toys too
I wish the series was more flushed out and the storyline was expanded. They needed more villains to form a rogues gallery. They could have ranged from military scientists that wanted the sharks for their DNA to make super soldiers to mermaid like creatures who are lead by a ruthless queen that wants to flood the earth to Yakuza gangsters that want to splice their DNA with shark DNA. The boys needed love interests that would go perfectly with their villains. Ripster began dating a girl who's father works for the military and wants to capture the sharks. Willing to use his own daughter to get to Ripster and the sharks. Jab becomes romantically involved with the daughter of the mermaid queen, who wants Jab and his brothers to join her mother's army. Yet Jab tries to convince her to leave her cruel (and abusive) mother and live with him on the surface. Streex falls hard for a beautiful but lethal bounty hunter, who was hired by the military to capture the sharks. A ruthless woman who only cares about money that won't let anyone get in her way, but when Streex saves her. She begins to change her outlook on life and who she can trust. Big Slammu befriends a Japanese foreign exchange student at their old college, who had the flee Japan after her father crossed a ruthless Yakuza boss. When they come after her, Big Slammu and his brothers come to her rescue. When it gets back to the boss in Japan, he becomes determined to capture the sharks to get their DNA so he can splice their DNA with his to become an unstoppable monster. While they finally manage to find their father, he informs them that he has a way to transform them back but it's not completely successful. As the Boltons try to figure out how to fix their new mutations, Dr. Paradigm has gathered their numerous enemies together to finally end the Street Sharks, but all of them have their own motives and quickly turn on each other. It could have also focused on the Bolton Brothers and their fears and insecurities to give their characters more depth.
TMNT meets the Street Sharks would be cool.
I wld love to see a live action version of this.

I never noticed Coupe Colton turned into the whale shark because my hood nerd ass would've been calling that bs out,as they don't have teeth. They could've made him a bull shark and it still would've worked and made more sense.
Honestly, these guys scared me as a kid (I was really young when they came out).
They look so uncanny & creepy with those big mouths, sharp teeth, and evil looking grins making up most of their bodies.😣😖

Don't quote me on this but I think Dr. Bolton was mutated into the villain, Squid, the green multiarmed thing; if that was the case I would have like to seen a story arc where the guys try to 1. Figure out if squid was there father and 2. Find a way to turn him back, the typical my friend/loved one is my enemy trope

Interesting bit of trivia about sharks. Covered in Steve Alten's YA novel SHARKMAN. Instead of a penis, sharks possess two pronged appendage called a clasper. Helps the male shark hold on to their mate while doing the dirty deed. Something that pops into my mind when thinking of STREET SHARKS.

I wasn't interested in Street Sharks. The only thing I remember it for is that one of the storyboard artists, Art Mawhinney, worked on early Archie Sonic comics. He was my favorite artist then.

As great as the show is, now that I'm older and more knowledgeable, I've noticed some inaccuracies between the characters and the sealife they are combined with. On the protagonist side of things; Bobby's personality is at odds with that of a tiger shark; Tiger sharks are one of the most aggressive shark species, this is at odds with Bobby's more sociable nature, but the show never depicts the nature of the sharks the boys became mixed with coming to the surface in any noticeable ways; given his willingness to try any sort of food and social personality, it would have made far more narrative sense to have Bobby combine with the DNA of a Blue Shark, seeing as the known natures and personalities of Blue Sharks are far more complimentary to that of Bobby's default nature; Hammerhead Sharks are known to have a heightened sensitivity to magnetic fields, mostly those found in magma flows beneath the sea floor, so it would have been a bit more interesting to see this heightened sense of direction show up in Clint after his transformation; Coop actually gets it the worst, I doubt he's actually part Whale Shark and the dev team just decided that because he became the biggest and the strongest among them all, my reasoning for this is that he has the same sort of teeth and mouth structure to the others; Whale Sharks are known Plankton feeders, they're gentle giants among their family, but that also means Coop would have the biggest dietary issues among the sharks, seeing as his Shark dietary process and human dietary process would not usually play nice with each other before his changes fully stabilized, and the Street Sharks were stated to have unstable genetic alterations with their shark DNA still being far more dominant than they would like in a few episodes.
Looking back, you can see the series had a lot of great stuff that made it good and memorable, but at the same time, you can also see the team either did very little way of actual research on sharks for the series or was hindered by the executives somewhere along the line regarding better-expressing shark information when it came to the protagonists, or they just didn't care about that sort of thing. If the series were to ever experience a reboot, I would like to see more of that real-world shark info come forward in the main characters as a way of emphasizing the characters in terms of personality and how they are individually coming to terms with being transformed while also trying to find clues as to the whereabouts of their father as they also fight against Paradyne to make sure what happened with them doesn't befall anyone else. Changing Skids/Bobby from a Tiger Shark to a Blue Shark would probably be a fun update that would help to express his personality, and he would probably take to the changes most easily, especially after finding out he can eat almost anything with minimal issues, Coop finding out his dietary requirements are now more specialized and difficult to recreate in the kitchen could make for an interesting mini-arc that helps to highlight the dietary needs of the brothers have changed as a result of their alterations and end with him and the team finding a way to give him some semblance of the diet his shark half feeds on if they decided to continue down the Whale Shark path in the reboot, they might just decided to change him to one of the larger shark breeds, like the Megamouth Shark (which feed on Krill and shrimp, so he could make some supersized protein shakes from the Shrimp they manage to wrangle on supply runs) to keep him as the biggest and strongest member. Also, making Coop go from a Whale Shark to a Megamouth will give his own sort of unique design to help him better stand out from his brothers. Since Megamouths diet on Krill, Shrimp, and Cephalopods, and one of the villains (Kalimari) is basically an anthro cephalopod, it would help with him having more incentive to bite that particular villain in combat, creating a sort of Hero/Villain rivalry between the two.

@@kingofallpie True, but were He-Man and GI Joe, and those series transcended past just being glorified toy commercials; sometimes a series can elevate things well past what it was meant to do. The things I said were ways to bring more in based on the premise that could potentially make things more interesting and thought-provoking.
90'z kid her (EST 85) who is A huge animation lover of it all Anime or western old/new Adult/Kids.. so this is just not my bias or nostalgia speaking the 90's-mid 00's was agruely the best time for animated cartoons both for Japanime Westoons .
Also whats up with Kid demo cartoons I like getting caned (mostly by CN) after 1 or 2 seasons R.I.P The 2000 he-man and the masters of blah blah blah,That Thunder cats show that was very anime imspired ,The Looney tunes show(the one where bugs and daffy are roomates,, Justice league fight, And the Green Lantern cartoon that Cn caned after a season no toy sales of something then replaces it with shows like teen titans go that's utter non since (funny at times} and look how long that show been runnung...R.i.p shows
