Whether you are expanding your smart lighting or received a package without a working remote, this tutorial will teach you how to pair a remote.

Since we published our Unboxed video for the Monster IlluminEssence line of products, we have been asked almost daily how to pair a remote to a light. There are a lot of reasons why someone might want to do that. First, you might be trying to customize your home with remotes for the living room, bedroom, etc. That was exactly why our team was so familiar with the process - we customized our offices with the review products.
However, we hear fairly often that the remotes and lights are not always paired out of the box. However, once they are paired, they work as expected. Because of this, we decided to show people the process of pairing. The good news is that it is incredibly easy. Simply remove power from the bulb or LED strip, return power, and within 5 seconds press and hold the Speed Up button. You will know it worked when the bulb or strip blinks 3 times. If you want to undo the pairing, simply press and hold the Speed Down button within 5 seconds of powering the bulb. You'll know it worked because the light will flash rapidly 5 times.

Okay I don't know if this will work for y'all but I was also confused because the bulb worked but not the strip. After long trying, I found that mine didn't turn on because I had plugged in the USB cable to the light strip backwards. Try this incase its also your problem, plug in the side of the strip with the lights and RGB letters to the side of the USB that has the Monster stickers.

Hey, i have the 16ft LED strip light, i have the correct batteries and the LED lights up and so does the red circle on the remote i tried to pair several times and its not working. Any suggestions?
Zoey Esselborn Yes. You likely have a control unit build known to our viewers to have problems. As of right now, we have no real suggestions on the 16ft models as we can't seem to acquire new units.

It seems to be working? I have two sets. Two bulbs and two strips. When I turn on my strips the one bulb still goes to the color from the remote.. But when I turn on the bulbs with the remote they turn the same color. I just got them today so I may just have to get used to them, but besides that this video worked perfectly.
DaintyChimChim If the bulbs and strips are paired to the same remote and both are powered at the wall/lamp, the remote should turn on and off both. If you turn the bulbs on manually after# they will begin being in sync with your next command.
@@PLuGHiTzLive I have one remote hooked up to the strips and one remote hooked up to the lights. The one remote works for one light bulb (I have two) and the strips. It works fine but I thought it was odd lol

Can you do a tutorial on how to pair led strip with the phone app
Unfortunately, these cannot be used with the phone app, so we cannot do a tutorial on it. As the new SKUs that use the app hit the market, we will do tutorial videos, though.

My light bulb it stuck on red and when I slide my finger around the color wheel to change the color it turns the brightness up and down.Do you know how to fix this?
Linda Souza this is happening to me too!! mine is stuck on blue and the remote works with the led strip but not with the bulb.

If you are trying to control two strips with one remote, this video hs those instructions. If you want to splice two strips together, that is not a supported use case.
So you don’t necessarily need to put them together then? Can we place them side by side almost as if it is one and run both strips off one control

keeler life No worries. We've accidentally become the experts on the product. Yes, you can run them off of a single remote control. Follow the instructions in this video for the second light. We ran two strips in our offices with the control cables on opposite ends and met in the middle.

The lights worked fine on the bench test. Once installed... the remote won't pair nor work at all. Because one 6.5' strip had to fit in one open faced cabinet... I ran the strips back and forth alongside each other to use up the full length .... is that a problem?
Joe Vreeland It shouldn't have an effect. See if removing and putting the batteries back in the remote and then touching the remote to the control unit while pairing. Some people have had success.
@@PLuGHiTzLive That's pretty much what I ended up doing - removed and re-installed the batteries and it worked! I don't know about touching them together - that never occurred to me - but that's something to put on my 3x5 card for future reference.

is there any way i can disconnect an led strip from my remote. i have both of my strips on one remote and i want them both on separate remotes.
I too would like to know this. I end up with so many spare remotes, but i cant use them on other sets because they are synced by default to the one you bought them with.

Same thing as the lamp, unplug the LED strip, re-plug it back in, then hold down the speed down (bottom) button to disconnect it or speed up (top) button to connect to different remote.

For some reason purple and red won’t work on the bulb but it does on the Strip anyone know why?
Maysa That sounds like a control issue in the bulb, but it's just a guess. I would try swapping the bulb out and see if it's just a dud.
Bought two sets of the small space led mood light kits @ 20 each and can't get either remote to work. I've tried everything I can think of. I wasn't thinking and didn't test them before putting them up. Seems like based on comments that the company has known for at least 8 months and still has fixed the issue .
Monster has fixed the issue. Unfortunately, Walmart will not take them off the shelves.

My LED light strips work (I had the charger plugged into the pins the wrong way and had to flip it to the other side and now they work) but my light bulb won't change colors. I use the remote to attempt to change colors and it just flickers whitish blue but won't change colors
Ryan Adams Have you unpaired and repaired the remote and the bulb? Sometimes there can be pairing issues out of the box.
I assumed it was already paired since it was the remote that came with it but all I had to do was turn it on and hold s+ until the lamp blinked now I'm all set! Thanks
Ryan Adams There was a batch about 4 months ago that shipped with the remotes not paired. It's actually how we got involved with the product's problems and why we made this video in the first place.

If it still doesn’t work with the led try flipping the plugin (the plug that you plug into the lights with the little small 4 needles) u just turn it n plug it back in it’s weird cause it should work as long as it’s plugged in but it doesn’t try flipping the little teeth

I have a question: so me and my brother got the same led monster illuminessence package and we both set it up in different rooms, as soon as I put mine to different color then his it would change in his room. It's really annoying that we cant have separate colors, is it that the signal on the remote is going to his too? Is there any ways to fix it?
