Your car might need a software update. Try taking it back to the dealer. It’s usually done for free.

THIS is the vid I was looking for. All the rest were of keyless fobs or ones that did not remotely look like mine. It works for the 2023 Santa Cruz. Thankfully you did this so well that I could stop it and see exactly where you were prying and honestly until I noticed those little indentations I was at a loss as to how easiy you popped it with a tooth pick. Just hard to come to grips with just prying stuff apart instead of removing a screw. Thanks!

NOTE: I didn't have to re-programme the key or anything after changing the battery, just changed it, put the case back together and it worked.

Look for the little tabs at both ends of the FOB where the toothpick was inserted.
