Carmen Berzatto, a brilliant young chef from the fine-dining world is forced to return home to run his local family sandwich shop - the Original Beef of Chicagoland - after a heartbreaking death in his family. A world away from what he's used to, Carmy must balance the soul-crushing reality of trading in Michelin star restaurants for the small 'business' kitchen filled with strong-willed and obstinate staff and his strained familial relationships, all while grappling with the impact of his brother's suicide.

The Bear really set the bar high to me so much that even House of The Dragon seems low tier to me now

Probably cuz the bear is a unique sure, house of dragons is game of thrones at home at least in my opinon… it’s literally operating on some of the same plot lines we’ve already seen play out in this world… drama about who’s going to be king yeah we seen that, rivalry between houses yeah we seen that, incest between siblings seen that, outside of seeing more dragons which we absolutely won’t see cuz of budget, what is the reason I need to watch house of dragons or even should want to watch it when everything about it feels so similar to a show I spent 9 seasons watching… I’m dropping it until it’s over maybe I’ll feel differently if I binge it

I've worked in food service for darn near 40 of the near 50 years of my life. This is, while still fictional, hands down the closest I've ever seen on film or TV to what this life is like.
Started watching it last week with my husband's friends last week. And I said "This show is me. This is my life. I've been every character." - The s1 episode where they loose power and freek out about the food? Yea. That happened to me.
I grew up in Ohio. So the Midwest Chicago setting still screams home to me too.
I swear when season 1 dropped, I talked about it to everyone and some peeps got it and most ignored me and I had a hard time finding anyone on you tube talking about it. S2 got a lot more attention! Wow. Been so weird to watch this thing blow up that I loved 3 years ago and no one knew about.

That's awesome. I'll try to do a full episode by episode discussion. This show deserves it. And it would be fun to talk about.

Jeremy allen white got pioular for hus role in Shameless. Hes insanely good at playing characters who are stressed out angry assholes but have a sense of hunor and likeability to them lol

I think the trouble with the writers of the Bear is that they're too good at writing characters, to the point where it's going to become increasingly hard to write any future episodes because of how much needs to be balanced at any time
(semi) jokes aside, the Bear has got such a grip on me and has left me so, delightfully, hungry for more
it's a constant consensual anxiety attack with such a fun and human group of people that I will gladly get back on the bandwagon yearly as a summer tradition
Also it really makes me want to go the Chicago lmao

It is my understanding that s4 is likely the last season. And I'm good with that if they end this as amazingly as each season has been.
Stories need a start and a finish. TV is bad for wanting to milk the cash cow of success. I respect clear starts and finishes.
