- An 1969 TV special designed to make viewers excited for the 1969-1970 NBC Television Network schedule. Shows promoted include: "My World.. And Welcome To It", "The Debbie Reynolds Show", "Then Came Bronson", "Bracken's World", "The Andy Williams Show", "The Bill Cosby Show" and "The Bold Ones". Most of these shows obviously cannot be uploaded, so this promo is the next best thing.

I can remember watching "My World and Welcome To It." A great, but short-lived series!
NBC's profits were worth $56.4 million (and later $43 million) in 1969, CBS was the most profitable (because of it's status as the No. 1 network at the time).
6 minutes in and I want to read a book.
Read "The Thurber Carnival".....or "My World- and Welcome To It", for James Thurber at his best!
this was very good !
This was when tv was worth watching.
from back when NBC, CBS and ABC made these prime-time specials to promote their new shows.
RIP Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher
Let me go back to this time
yup, they put star trek on in the Friday at 10pm slot for the 68-69 season, thus ensuring cancellation. they spent 3 years finding intelligence in the universe, but were unable to find any at NBC HQ.
I actually remember the series about the cartoonist. I also remember _The Bold Ones._
I am ready for an updated remake of Then Came Bronson.
Beats the heck out of any schedule on any channel today.
+Chad Quick you obviously weren't watching that horrible Debbie Reynolds promo .
+jsilence418 That was painful, and I love Debbie Reynolds. She must've had some bills to pay.
+coffycup75 Total misuse of her talent - it was awful.
She had faith in the format (it was created by Jess Oppenheimer, who was the "architect" of "I LOVE LUCY")- but after she went ballistic over her primary sponsor, American Brands {American Tobacco} scheduling a cigarette commercial during her premiere episode [when they insisted they WOULDN'T schedule any ads for their tobacco products], they pulled out of the series.....and NBC was unable to secure another major sponsor. Plus the fact that the show was opposite the second half of ABC's "MOD SQUAD" just about guaranteed its cancellation after one season.
Barry I. Grauman That and the fact it was just bad.
Banter like vinegar and oil, it's fun to see this as an adult
25:00- the closing music was originally heard during NBC's Fall 1961 promos.
The program started at 15 past the hour .. at least the clock without the hour hand read that on the Today show desk
i love the old peacock
BurkeDivine66+
I miss the old tv too
Too bad the ending with the NBC "Snake" was cut off early.
Then came Bronson looked interesting. Wish I was old enough to have watched it. Could see that one getting rebooted for Netflix today.
It WAS "interesting". But (the original) "HAWAII FIVE-O" on CBS attracted more viewers, and the series was cancelled after one season.
The footage of Andy Williams (and his guests) performing were from three specials he did the previous season, as his new series hadn't begun taping at the time this preview was prepared. That "closing theme" was also heard during their 1966 fall preview {"Two in a Taxi"}, when the returning Saturday night shows were quickly mentioned, Jason; that music dates back, at least, to the 1964-'65 season...
Hey that was José Feliciano
On the Andy williams show
I love old tv Brasil 66
Donavan this is like amc pop
Rogar millar
Those were excerpts from two of Andy's 1968-'69 specials.
Sad memories too bad nobody spoke up about cosby back then who knows how many people would have been spared the Pain and suffering but I still love the shows sorry I don't mean to be Judgmental only God can Judge and the Court Systems PS I Think Brackenworld should have been aTVMoviethenashow
Unfortunately, Star Trek won't be coming back this year. You'll just have to wait for 12 motion pictures, and 4 spin-off series lasting more than 20 seasons that will be starting about a decade from now.
This cosby show
Reminds me of the white shadow
Well, "Chet Kincaid's" job as a high school gym teacher and coach was only a part of the overall stories. There were other episodes involving his family, friends and acquaintances- and the occasional absurd and touching experiences in his daily life.
Beautiful all except for Cosby and you know my feelings on Him and that ps don't call me surely or Shirley 🤣😂😆😅
Too bad those women lied
@@adambrickell6425 they didn't he did but will never know for sure And only God can .Judge. ps he shouldn't have Lied about being at the playboy mansion and then appear on the History channel on documentary about it and how he went their for carnival fundraiser s and his weekly poker night for 38 years since he Also said in statement After this all came out that he had never known Huge Heffer .But like I said will let God Judge who is lying ps Hope you have a good evening 😃🤣😂😀
In the 1980s Denis Cole was
On the young and the restless
As Lance Prentice I also saw
Timothy Hutton of Ellery Queen
Not tim. His father Jim
"Your hair is a wonderful shade of dingy brown." HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHHAHAAHHAH
Now THAT tickled me! That sounds like something a woman would say to me!
Between Disney and Bonanza, was Bill Cosby sponsored and ensured by Procter & Gamble?
YES. P&G sponsored Cosby for two seasons, then dropped him in favor of "THE JIMMY STEWART SHOW" for the 1971-'72 season.
Someone noted that P&G sponsored the 8:30 to 9:00 program for eleven years. The previous show was "The Mothers-In-Law".
Cosby with his storys...
How Many Stories about Innocent Women Those Stories He Couldn't Tell Except In Court and Even Their He Lied Shame Nobody Else Know That Even At That time He May have been Ruining Lives Including Is Own But The Law Has Finally Judged Him Not I And Some Day God Will Judged Him Too.
Ask Him The Stories About Those Poor Innocent Women
The only thing that "... And Then Came Bronson" teaser needed was for him to give that lazy dame a good backhand and for her to then swoon and throw herself at him.
Then Came Bronson was a good show. Bracken's World looked interesting but only lasted a season before it was revamped and then killed.
The Debbie Reynolds Show looked awful. They should have called it the Debbie Reynolds tries to be Lucille Ball Show.
Mark Johnson And this was supposed to be a highlight. Think of what the rest of the show must have been like.
That's because Jess Oppenheimer, who co-created and co-wrote "I LOVE LUCY", created and produced Debbie's show.
In fact, her show's opening title was parodied by "MONTY PYTHON'S FLYING CIRCUS" as the opening for "The Attila the Hun Show".
@@baronvonnembles true but she looked beautiful
Looked pretty tame for a "fall porno special"
The NBC fall preview specials became somewhat "predictable" in the '70s, because the same writer/producer [Philip Minoff, of the "NBC Advertising Department"] and editor [Alan Smiler] worked on them. In fact, the 1974 and '75 previews are virtually the same- even though the "hosts" and new series are different. That's one reason why NBC lost ground in attracting new viewers in the mid-'70s, and why CBS continued to be the #1 network [until ABC upset the others by "winning" the 1975-'76 season].
Did Hugh Downs really say Debbie Reynolds' looks we're "bland" ?
i think william windom's great grandfather was a member of abraham lincoln's cabinet.
R.I.P. Joe.....
Set em.up joe
Notice anything about the closing theme? Sound familiar? It should be, as this theme package was also used on continuity at WNBC-TV during that time frame.
I remember that the law enforcer segment of The Bold Ones was replaced with a segment where Hal Holbrook played a Senator.
Jason Jones y
Yes. That was originally used as far back as 1962 or so. The "closing theme" was previously used in their 1966 Fall Preview special.
That was during the 1970-'71 season.
then Quentin Tarantino re-found michael parks and put him and his son in his films.
Nice!
at least they new then that Gen .U.S. Grant was a drunk.
Read James Thurber's "If Grant Had Been Drinking At Appomattox" to appreciate the full satire of that story.
If only They Know what Cosby was .or did they but I'm not one to Judge only God And the court's can.And one has.
Burle Ives
All of those actors are
Dead
I hate technology
Computer
Cable tv
Cell phones
Yet...thanks to those things...you're able to watch this 50+ year episode again!😂😂😂
awful
A show about a cartoonist who hates his family .Yeah I could see the appeal of that one 🙄
The Debbie Reynolds show 👎" Her appearance is bland but she's really peppery " wow
These shows are atrocious-
The writing and acting are sub standard- worse than day time TV.
RIP Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher
