Tropical Storm forming in the Gulf of Mexico

- A potent tropical disturbance is developing in the southern Gulf of Mexico, and is likely to become our first named storm tomorrow as it heads towards northeast Mexico as a very broad system. Tropical Storm Watches are already in effect from Port O'Connor, Texas, southwards into northeastern Mexico, with warnings likely to be issued soon.
Rainfall and flash flooding is the primary concern from this system, with wide ranging impacts expected and maximum rainfall approaching 16 inches (400mm) in South Texas and northeastern Mexico. The GFS model is currently indicating highest rainfall west of Victoria, and totals of 10 inches (250mm) near Monterrey, Mexico.
Additionally, another storm this weekend into next week in the same area cannot be ruled out, along with another area of interest heading towards the US East Coast from the open Atlantic.
The Western Hemisphere has been suffering from its slowest start in 30 years.

@@KorZen10 if another hurricane was headed towards me, I'd be sitting watching the whole thing go on. Some people, like me, like the thrill of being in one of these storms, but what the storm does itself is absolutely devastating as I've been in 3 storms. If I see a strong storm making landfall I'd say it isn't any good too.
