Just so everyone knows... I'm not a yarn snob. I always use big box store yarn. I wanted to support a couple small businesses. I will be giving all this away in giveaways except for four hanks that I will keep, and I will never use it for tutorials.. only big box yarn for tutorials... What I make with my four hanks will be only for me. 😊
People need to chill out. You do this to educate people not because your snobby...ugh people
You deserve to work with a higher quality yarn once in a while. Your work is lovely so treat yourself!!
I can't imagine anyone would call you a yarn snob or have a right to. There's plenty of box stores that have yarn for that price. They are really good prices. I don't have any yet but a hank from hobby lobby and would actually like to see a tutorial but I understand where you're coming from. Though I think you should keep them and enjoy them.

I just bought some of the Malabrigo Mechita when we went to Kansas City a while back. Was able to get 3 hanks. I love them.

I lived near the store about 10 years ago, before I was a yarn person. I'm so glad that you're supporting small yarn shops that may be struggling. I love Malabrigo and Hedgehog Fibres. I have one skein of Hedgehog Fibres that I'm holding onto for something special! It's good to have a variety of yarn for what you like. There is nothing wrong about big box stores or small dyers. Just stick to your budget and do what is right for you.
Malabrigo is my go to yarn when I want to make something extra special. Their colors are GORGEOUS! Hedgehog sounds really familiar, that pink is beautiful.
This was actually one of your BEST unboxings! Just remember "Those who mind don't matter; and those who matter don't mind" Anyone who thinks you're a yarn snob obviously doesn't know or watch you. Keep the yarn you like for yourself! You paid good money for those and deserve to keep them 💞
The first time I felt a MadTosh yarn I was like ooooohhhhh that's why it's so expensive 😂 and your reaction was just about the same lol I got lucky and found a stash from someone selling who had lots of high end yarns for super cheap, so I'm thankful for that!
I made a shawl out of Mrs. Crosby's yarn, the sport weight one, and it's so wonderful and squishy. I've been known to pay $28-32 for hand dyed yarn from Etsy sellers, so honestly, all those prices sound really good for ethically sourced yarns. I love my acrylics, too, but I also love the fancy ones!

Malabrigo's awesome, you don't want to go back to the big box store yarn once you get into the natural yarns, that's what happened to me. When i was learning to knit i stuck with the Red Heart because it was cheap and easy to find. Then I find a LYS near me and discovered the Malabrigo - i haven't gone back to Red Heart since

I was talking about this with knitter friends a little while ago ... when people crochet they mostly stick to acrylic 4 weight, then when they switch over to knitting its like opening a whole new yarn world.
I didn't know about Michael's until a few years ago. I knew about Joann's and of course Walmart. But I love learning about new yarns.
Wow; you just pulled the first Hank out of the bag and I almost fell off my chair! Purple is my favorite color and that yarn is absolutely breathtaking! Keep going. I can’t see what I can’t wait to see what else is in there. 😄 The price was better than I expected, too.

Malabrigo is a very well known company of hand dyed yarns. Another company that carries their yarn is Webs. Worth looking into some of their other yarns. Madeline Tosh is also a big name. As is Mrs. Crosby. Webs carries all these & when you spend a certain amount you get 25% off.
I am glad you did this video. I love hand dyed yarns & would love to see more from other stores & companies.
I think both Hedgehog & Black Cat are independent dyers that you can purchase on Etsy. One is Canadian I think. These were all great. Please do this kind again.

I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase any of that yarn as the colors are awesome. Crystal you have taught me to appreciate better quality yarns from your unboxings so I have ordered from the higher end yarn shops and really enjoy the yarns. Love that Quarry.

Finally an unboxing I can get behind! You bought some great yarns!
I love Brooklyn tweed, I made a cardigan out of their fingering yarn (loft) and hedge hog fibers, I just bought their yarn advent calendar. It was expensive I think around 250.00 but you get 25 mini skeins of their amazing colors!
And malabrigo is a great yarn! I’m currently knitting a sweater out of it!

Hiya Crystal, I am a lover of hand-spun & hand-dyed yarns, so this video was extra fun to watch.
Currently, I own three spinning wheels and love sitting in front of one for hours and hours spinning away and filling my bobbins. My love of spinning got started from my philosophy of “Slowing Down” and enjoying the “Process” of how the fiber/yarn came about for me to knit & crochet.

Local yarn shops have some of the best yarns. Indie dyers are so creative with color and texture. They all ship in bags. This is one of your best unboxing’s As your joy and excitement was real. There’s a yarn for everyone. You did incredibly well with pronunciations as they’re all not in English. Kudos to a fabulous yarny.

The prettiest yarn I have seen in a long time. I think it is wonderful that you are supporting the independent business shops. With some of the big box stores going in to compatition with the small independent yarn dyers and yarn shops we need to support them.

I love to hear about all the different yarns and yarn shops. Imo any yarn is fine, as long as you like it and can afford it!! I am not a yarn snob either and I would never judge anyone by the yarn they use. You never know if someone, who ALWAYS and ONLY uses acrylic might simply be allergic to wool. Let's be happy that we all enjoy working handicraft!
