I just added one to my system last night, I had intermittent but significantly loud transformer buzzing at certain times from my power amp and pre-amp power supply (enough to hear it from the other side of the room). The Audiolab unit has killed it dead, both absolutely silent now. Connected up my Heed Thesis pre, PSU and power amp and a Rega Saturn-R

I have the smaller version of this. It's been a really worthwhile investment. I'm not sure whether it is of much help with a budget system, maybe your money would be better spent elsewhere, but as the finishing touch to a system you're happy with it's a good choice.

I've got one in silver, I had it for a while and of course it's no game changer. But it looks good on my rack nevertheless and it's better than simple mains extension lying on a carpet, collecting dust😊

Tried the Audiolab DC blocker. It did a great job at stopping a very audible transformer hum, but unfortunately it also made the music sound dull, lifeless, with a rolled-off treble. (same results with DC-blockers I tried from iFi and Supra) So, I gave up hope on DC-blockers.

Every power filter I have tryed, and thats at least 10 diffrent have had the same sound. Less dynamics and dull, lifeless worse sounding. Even the reallt expencive Isotek Sigma. Using a simple but well made power strip works best..

@@FranzVonFitzenstrahl Thanks for your reply. It seems I'm not the only one then, with that same experience! Kinda remarkable that most people haven't noticed any of these issues, when using a DC blocker. (lucky for them though)

Can I use an adaptor to plug my standard Type A plug?
