@@Chris_Burdick So, you didn't listen to this song I take it. All along the watchtower was written and released by Bob Dillon, but even he considers it a Jimmi Hendrix song. When a guy does it so much better, it's there's!
To all those saying 'Yeeeeah, fuck Metallica, they stole it from Motorhead" etc., get your shit right. This song was a cover of Enter Sandman by Lemmy made as a *joke* between the bands. They actually where in a very good standing, and Hetfield himself liked the cover. RIP Lemmy!
Motorhead and Ozzy each had they're own versions of "HellRaiser". Ozzy's version is more refined but Motorhead's version is Meaner and Darker. I prefer meaner and darker for that song. Also,I think i like this version a bit better than Metallica's version.
Jack Dexter metallica respects lemmy and motorhead, many articles and interview said that metallica grew up listening to their music too and they even played a song with lemmy on stage
I don't really hear any "Fuck Metallica" in this version. Actually, it sounds pretty much note for note like the original, except for the prayer part, you know: Motorhead has a teenage voice doing the prayer instead of a little boy. Other than that, and Lemmy's gravelly "evil" voice, it's pretty much the same tune. Not a "fuck you " to Metallica, in my opinion. Just a pretty good cover. You would have to ask Lemmy if this was meant as anything other than a cover of a fellow band's great tune.
This song was covered by motorhead in response to Metallica's cover of Overkill. The song name is a joke that the two bands have with each other. It was only called this to take the piss. There is no hidden meaning with the cover other than Motorhead having fun with some of their mates.
@@dustyloko2654 from what i understand it was a Napster thing, Lemmy didn't like Metallica being all uppity about it, a real metal band makes its money live,They covered this song released it to Napster, as if too so go ahead n sue us too we dare you.. obviously Metallica didnt bite.
pretty much the same, but Lemmy's voice makes it sound heavier than the original by Metallica... shows how he can make each song drastically unique even if it is covered and sounds the same every other way...
@Arrolito Now that you mention it, you've helped me make sense of the song (thanks) I don't know if I'm wrong, but this seems to be much about his career, the verses "Hey, hey, hey. Ain't no mercy, ain't no mercy there for me" "And i went on, then I went on down that road" I now understand it, really speaks about what they have to pass by choosing this path. (Although I think many have already deducted, is just to say it) I am Chilean, and I'm proud to have grown up with Metallica and Motorhead
OMFG!!!!! I think this version is much better than original one, Lemmy's voice fits in this song! Awesome!!!!! PD: and now, the typical joke about fools who do not like this version: mmmmm... 1679 people died before they wake...
i think Metallica keeps things as fresh as possible considering they have been at this for 30 years. other bands sure seem to have no hesitation at covering their library of songs. i grew up with Metallica and still love them. i mean friends -- who can cut it like Pink Floyd anyway??????. love anna metal peace to everyone here.
They're credited along with Anthrax, Slayer and Megadeth to be the most successful Thrash Metal acts... How the Backstreet Boys come into it, I'll never know.
Much as i think of Metallica as a joke, they did record 'damage case' a Motorhead song written by my late fine friend Mick Farren and the first cheque blew his mind..... more dough in one envelope than he'd earned over the rest of his life... the odd cheque still came decades later.... write songs and get rich!
I LOVED IT WHEN METALLICA GUESTED LEMMY AT ONE OF THIER LIVE GIGS IT WAS FUCKEN ACE AND THE CROWD WENT WILD,IT WAS AN HONOR FOR THEM TO HAVE THE KING ON THE STAGE PLAYIN GUITAR WITH EM ,I DEFO HAD GOOSE BUMPS WATCHIN IT!!!!

before......metallica mainstream......after That's were the the discusion is about, but don't worry they are the best of friends !...peace, metal rules !!!
Lemme never covered any band he invented punk/metal everyone from Sid Vicious to Cliff Burtonsville wanted to be even a Ray of Light in the Sun which was Lemmy! God's of Valhalla needed a Bassist R.I.P
I think Lemmy would send a kid to bed by sitting him on an old radiator, making him listen to this cover.., and then telling him to shut the fuck up or he'll put the puppy in a pillowcase and stomp on it.
austin cutty I think the implication is that the Black Album wasn't arranged like a *real* metal album. You really shouldn't take music criticism that seriously. Most people are full of shit and needlessly negative. Now add in wannabe tough guys and people who think metal is all about being a bad ass, and you'll start to see the problem. It's really not worth your time, man.
I don't mind the black album it isn't aggressive sounding but it is pretty heavy enter sandman and sad but true James sings like he had on the other records a little
Metallica's music fits better but Lemmy's voice better fits the nightmare theme.
TRG They should both do this song together.
Magic- too bad Lemmy can’t make it. He’s busy fucking both angels and demons he’s got a forever hall pass between heaven and hell. R.I.P Lemmy
Totally agree
No one does Metallica better than the guy that invented them...LEMMY!!!!!!!!!!
True shit
Spot fucking on
Allan Ostermann indeed
Allan Ostermann Calm down, dude.
Jon S He is calm,Its a fact that Lemmy and in general Motorhead inspired Metallica with Black sabbath too

The law says - If The Motrohead covers your song it is not yours anymore.
true shit bretheren
That's the law....ROCK LAW!!
Facce Bookk Metallica wrote and performed Enter Sandman. Therefore, Enter Sandman is not a Motörhead song, it's a Metallica song. ✌
Chris Burdick he was joking

hey nice avatar
You know you've made it big when your influences and idols start covering your stuff.
Loved it except for the part at 5:15
Motörhead version is better because of bass
*And the bassists voice
Realy let me think.. oh Jason wrote the bass and used a pick
Agree!
This is what you get when you inject 'Enter sandman-Metallica' with loads of steroids.
Or aspestos, tobacco, and a lot of whiskey
Or shitty production
Lemmy's voice sounds great for this song
R.I.P The King Of Kings!!!
Lemmy: "Hey Metallica congrats on this successful song, sounds awesome! But let me show you how it's done, junior!"
Metallica: *releases Enter Sandman*
Lemmy: "Hush little baby, don't say a word."

Absolutely
I agree
not to mention Lemmy wrote the song and sold it to oz
Without Motorhead there was no Metallica. Even James Hetfield recognized this !
That akword moment when Motorhead does a cover of your song and you instantlly realize is not your song enymore...
that akword moment when you can't spell
Honestly if motorhead did a cover of my song i still would be happy as hell even if it was no longer mine lol

Lemmy's vocals on this song kick ass. This is really well done.
Metallica does a really good cover of this
I like both Metallica and Motor head, so how about we all just shut the fuck up, and listen to good music.
Why all the arguing about who did what......both versions rock!
Amen! Stop arguing, start rockin'. And as far as I remember (I may be wrong, so correct me) Motörhead and Metallica are kinda friends?

I like to imagine that The Grim Reaper himself sounds like Lemmy when he sings.
Have you heard Metallica ex bassist Jason Newsted sing Seek and Destroy
James is a great friend of Lemmy.
Lemmy is like a father to him.
A great cover of a great song by a great band. More than does justice to the original.
Just in case you didn’t know, Lemmy was a friend of Metallica.
Also he sang with Metallica in a show
Then why does it say “fuck Metallica”?

Pantera, Motorhead, Iron Maiden. 😎

Hard to ever top a Metallica Original IMO, but, this along with Machine Head's "Battery" are damn close to doing it.
@Kevin Minnick you strike again! 🤣
This version separates the kids among through men.
Покойся с миром ВЕЛИКИЙ ЛЕММИ !
I'll never listen to the original again!!
I just love how the person who called this fuck metallica actually names himself metallicaddict13 xD
This cover is great, Enter Sandman should be a heavy & dark song! Motorhead did a great cover!
Sin Metallica esta canción no existiría dejar de criticar a Metallica!
my Like/Dislike is confused
Lemmy was made for this song.
Jukka no. Lemmy was born to live fast and die old

The Metallica one is better
Who cares? Both versions are awesome
i hate this version. nothing like good ol' metallica if you ask me.
Ozzy and Lemmy are arguably the founders of heavy metal
Change my mind

Literally just bought the ECW CD a few weeks ago just for this song, although there are some other good ones. Rest in PEACE Lemmy
one of very little covers of a song that dosnt ruin the oringinal..... this is class
Lemmy helped write it which is why both Metallica and Motorhead have a version.
the singer sounds like he lost his voice
but the guitar, base, and drums are phenomal
Dude, it's fucking Lemmy. Nobody can't sing like Lemmy!
funniest thing of all is that lemmy doesn't give a shit bout what you guys think of this cover, he just goes on and record music, very good music
Metalica should cover this.
Anyone who knows Metallica will tell you Motorhead was a huge inspiration on Metallica. You can really hear it on the whole Kill 'Em All album.
Badass. Wish this was on iTunes.
Why can't people just like both versions? They realize Het and Lemmy were good friends right?
Because hetfield vocal sucks!
i like this way better then metalica's version man
2020 anyone 🤘
@pROTPANDA Having a song Covered By Motorhead is an Honour Mate
I love how a dude named 'Metallicaaddict' posted this doesn't everyone else.?
"We are Motorhead and we play Rock and roll"-Lemmy.....thats what Lemmy says every show......Motorhead=Rock and Roll
I think most people here are upset at the fact that the title says “fuck Metallica,” which can instantly turn someone off.
