Thank you for explaining so well my lived experience of 'living with death as a present reality'... I have been 'living with cancer' (as I describe it) since early 2015, no chemo, radiation, surgery or pharmaceuticals. Just me and the tumour in my body going thru the ebb and flow of life after my initial radical overhaul of diet and lifestyle. The still healing / healed tumour is an ever present reminder of death as a reality and that 'life' is ultimately fatal. I am not scared of death, my main preoccupation is to not suffer in the process (of dying, which we all are) and with that comes a huge amount of growth and transformation traversing the underbelly of my own darker nature in order to understand it and integrate it in a healthy way... Aquarius sun and rising, Saturn is the helmsman of my chart and Pluto is finishing up a thorough excavation of my 12th House as he approaches my 1st, and the house of my Sun... ✨💚✨ Thank you for this validation of my experience that led me to the darker reaches... Only when we shine light on the shadowy depths can we fully see and truly accept ourselves as we are and with Love.

Powerful. Thank you. In Dec of 2021 Anne Rice died and it felt impossible to articulate clearly to others how much her passing affected me. I can’t help but think of the movie “Everything, Everywhere, All At Once” and how the *bagel* might be a good allusion to Pluto, and Evelyn’s approach to the same type of thing is a very Solar, Golden light. The juxtaposition of those two things in one movie.
Sun/Pluto native here - I LOVED "Black Hole Sun" in high school. This current Sun/Pluto conjunction is occurring on my ascendant. The song I've recently been listening to on repeat is "Arsonist's Lullaby" by Hozier. Music has always been my passport to the underworld.

When Pluto exactly opposed my 4th H Cancer Sun on my 46th birthday/solar return, my Mom, who was dying of cancer, suddenly fell into a terrible delirium and didn't know who I was, let alone that it was the day she gave birth to me. Feeling her suffering and my own grief was heartbreaking.

I started to listen last night, and kind of decided to return today. Read thru the comments/interesting. I’ve xperienced many deaths/ near deaths. Leo Sun conjunct Pluto. This discussion inspires me as I listen and will tune in to the next exposition on Pluto and other transits. My encounters w/ ‘dark teachers have stretched me. At times it felt like a timely escape. At other times, I contemplate “What’s to be explored/ learned from this.” In one of my Ayahuasca journeys n the eighties, Our Mentor an acclaimed musician & journeyer. The first night, I met two of my ancestor brothers from an earlier incarnation. One of them transmitted the language (Quechua) to me. Later, when I was on a team retrieving info in Louisiana after Katrina in 2005, while documenting survivors and interviewing holdouts there who required services/food, shelter, help door to door in the partially swollen waters, I heard myself singing n Quechua. walking thru the debris/beauty of death and destruction, I could sense:feel the bodies floating on the waters edge. A rather sensitive student team member asked what language I sung. I simply told her it was one my grandmother taught me. It was an active channel to deal w/dead bodies that I saw out of the corners of my eyes. Couldn’t fully disclose to our group as we all lived and travelled together for 14 days processing applications for assistance & arranging stays out-of-state for those who were willing to travel. Plutonian aspect of my self, in my world was activated once again.
I recently started watching these YT videos on a regular basis and I just love the authenticity and realness from Adam. I love watching him laugh at himself for some of the stuff he says. I crack up too because it's so real and raw and I completely resonate with it. I've quickly become a huge fan of this channel. Thanks for sharing your wisdom! ❤🙏
I've experienced the Sun-Pluto conjunction in my fourth house. Lots of purging and donations this past year. Clearing the home from clutter. I also acquired an interest in NDEs to the point where my husband noticed I was talking (more than usual) about death.
I have natal Sun/Saturn/Mercury conjunct Pluto in the 4th.
Beautiful take on the "Dark Sun." I can clearly imagine a painting being created and formed of dark and light flowers, while Bach's music playing in the background...all IS as IT IS and maybe "needs" to BE and IT IS Beautiful and Mesmerizing.... in a Lovingly Painful way 💞

When I was born in a present moment, my mother passed away. She did revive after going down the tunnel, and was spit back without memory of her previous life. We felt like twins from then on. In some of my dreams, I have played like a child in the tunnel, and have gotten scolded and told to leave the tunnel and go back. As a child, my parents owned a cemetery, and there were burials in the front yard of the home. We had to play out of sight in the small back yard.

This was very powerful when you talk about living with death as a present reality instead of an eventuality! I think that book you suggest sounds interesting. I would also suggest a book I have just ordered to allow these 'dark sun' times to feel better. I haven't read it yet but I have it on good authority that it might work in cheering me up a bit so would like to share the title : Outrageous Openness by Tosher Silver (can be purchased on Amazon, sorry for those who do not support monopolies!). It's time to share ideas, that much I do know. Thanks for this Adam, you are always very compelling in your synopsis of things.
What transformed me was the awareness of Death's infinite patience. It will wait forever to meet me. And with that awareness, it was really easy to imagine It always by my side, sitting on the couch with me, enjoying me having my moments... and Always. There. Reminding me that my time would end.
Memento Mori is such a powerful state of being. It opens us intensely, makes grief a continuous process, yet in that grief we allow so much more feeling in our lives.
Life needs contrast to be worth living, and Death is the ultimate contrast.

Two nights ago I watched a movie I knew nothing about and it turned the whole movie was about a woman dying of cancer. Then yesterday, I was interviewing a woman to as a volunteer worker and the conversation turned to her desire to be a death doula and we talked about societies denial of death for ages.
And I just looked up the transits and found that back in 1991, when I was at Uni, I studied Death and Dying as a philosophy subject... Pluto was trine my Sun and opposite my mars that year.
Great book. The black sun is true numinous experience. That is how I came to the book. This is such an important topic. The Nigredo is a powerful source of healing and creativity.
I’ve got a doozie of natal Pluto placements….Pluto trines my Ascendant, Jupiter, and Venus in the 1st. And, squares my Sun and Moon in the 12th and 6th, respectively. This talk validates and brings such insight. “Scared out of complacency.” That’s money. Thank you Adam!! 💕

This is reminding me of NDEs. I have had a few and some included dark Spirits that lead me to safety. This video is giving me reawakening thoughts. The Sun shines brighter after an NDE.

Man, #grabbed for sure. My natal sun is at 29 degrees of Capricorn so this is speaking to the slow Pluto transit over my sun as well as the energy of the moment. I’m changing my appearance, going from grunge to square and back again. I’m giving up nicotine (trying). And my best friend and I aren’t talking because I’ve come to realize that the live I offer her is just not reciprocated (her Venus is at 29 Capricorn by the way). Over the past day or two I’ve been feeling this grief fill me as I see through the idealized version of her and recognize the reality of the situation. It’s the dark sun archetype for sure-somehow the darkness is luminous, enlightening. There’s this sense of transformation, death, failure, pain; still light shines through, helping me understand that I’m not good nor bad, I just am. What really seemed to capture the feeling of this transit is a May Sarton quote: “This cup holds grief and balm in equal measure. Light, darkness. Who drinks from it must change.”

I live in sunny south Florida, on my Pluto/ DC line. I came here w/ my partner for his job, after we spent 3 years in Fairbanks, AK, on my Uranus/Neptune line. It’s strange to live in a place considered paradise by many yet it doesn’t feel that way to me…anyway, our kitchen window faces west. There’s a nice, almost cool breeze today, and I love being in the kitchen, washing dishes as the sun goes down and shines on my face. So, that’s what I was doing as I listened. As I neared the end of the video, I watched a vulture swoop down into the road, grab something small, dead, and visibly flattened, and then begin to tear into it on the side of the road. “Everything eats everything in this world.” 😁👌

My Mother passed last year within this week, unfortunately her death date isn't precise and off by 48 hrs or so. It would seem the chart just showed me the precise day...when the sun crossed pluto in my 5th in opposition to my natal north node in cancer. I'm thankful for the insight and lessons. I don't know if I would of found the date if it wasn't for what I've learned from you over the last year 🙏
Thank you very much! This episode has given me a way of contemplating Pluto transiting my Natal Sun over the past years. Tumultuous, deeply transformative and life changing. I used dark art to express and process these experiences which gave me an appreciation of the richness of the underworld.
I have a close Sun-Mercury-Pluto conjunction in Sagittarius here, I feel that I know the energy of Pluto very well, I blame my Mercury-Pluto conjunction for my astrology obsession haha. As Pluto progresses over my midheaven, I have started to actually give in person astrology readings at a spiritual shop.
Same. Pluto 0° conjunct Sun , Mercury and Saturn. I love astrology. It kick started my spiritual awakening.
Right now, the heuristic that comes to my mind is something like, "Have I taken time to send Death a thank-you card for the food that came to my table, the gifts of the butcher and the farmer, the paving carpenter and the sanitizing homemaker?"
Maybe that's a little heady, but I do think it allows me to share it with my children in smaller doses and by more accessible means than, say, screening horror films for them.

Thank you, Adam. This meant a lot for me. Layers and layers of experience. I am almost exactly a year younger than you and I have the natal Sun-Pluto square not to mention the long transit of Pluto opposing my natal Sun. Death has been a daily meditation for several years now.

I’m feeling all of this right now, the sun and Pluto are exactly squaring my ascendant from the fourth house, I won’t go into it but I had a horrible nightmare last night about being chased out of my house by this evil person and I have to deal with a situation right now involving a family member and me feeling horrible about myself.

Only just caught this talk, but all week I’ve been watching Tim Burton’s Wednesday series. I really enjoyed it and it really encapsulated the feel of the black sun for me.
In quite a profound way, I guess i'm a medium, but things I've seen and see on the daily would scare the shot out most people.. I'm talking everything from angelic beings to ghouls to animal human hybrid to clearly the so called "dead". Writings and images on the walls/floors/shower curtains/mirror fog images.. the list goes on its intense. I also have sun square Pluto. I didn't know whether they were "for me" or "against me" ., but it seems mostly "for me". Had I labeled everything I seen as bad sought to banish and remove the "bad guys" this would not have been a fun time. But because I embraced it with curiosity, yes still a little fear at first, now, how ppl talk about "making friends with your shadows" really comes to life for me. I've become friends with my biggest fears and now realize that that scariest looking spirits/beings could have the greatest compassion. I now can finally sleep in the dark lol and I have a new found respect and relationship for/with the "dark".
As someone who thought it was all about the light ... I see there is another world which can't be cast aside because it is where light and love originates; and if Pluto is associated with power it's clear the darkness is where true power is. This IS where the light is. "Out of Darkness, came forth light". If we reject the dark we reject the light. We look at the light with awe and obeisance but forget where it came from. We dishonor and take for granted a very important aspect of life/creation... that's when the darkness starts to haunt you. ... my life lesson.

@@butterflyprinses1342 true. I guess i don't know if I'm a medium or not, I just thought people who see these type of things on the regular are. Pluto just made a transit over my natal mercury and I thought it had something to do with that too.

This describes what last year felt for me! Recently I was reflecting on it because I'm standing in the sunshine of 2023 and I was wondering if I had been depressed or a deep hole of grief and despair. I decided no, it wasn't and that it was just a dark year for many reasons. I like this description for it though. Even if it wasn't that, it's a perfect awareness. I have Pluto conj lilith and Pluto sextile my MH. But I don't know how to do placements etc but yeah, this awareness is profound thank you.

I really enjoyed this lecture. I dealt with a Pluto opposing my natal moon for a few years and I felt yanked to the underworld. It was scary and confusing. I used to call it my house of ghosts. Yet I would agree, when you hit bottom and you have made a transgressions that wasn’t the best, it is life giving. Thank you for your lecture.

My ex husband passed away in his sleep Saturday night. He was only 44. I have never left anyone I was still in love with but I could no longer handle his abuse. I am having very mixed emotions. We had a very deep soulful connection. He struggled with alcoholism. I hope have peace knowing he isn’t suffering anymore. I will always love you Michael. ❤
I was born with Aquarius Sun,6th house, opposite Leo Pluto retrograde conjunct Leo Moon in 12th house. I’m old, 78 in a few days. Living through Pluto moving through 12th, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and now 6th, nearing my Sun. All those transits…. I believe I am a fire walker. ❤
This is exactly what I needed to hear today. I realized (duh) that I am a Sun conjunct Pluto native although it’s a 12 degree out of sign orb, and Uranus is between them.I don’t know why but I’ve never really contemplated that it my life but it makes sense. It also reminded me of a 3 day weekend, 12/31/1997 - 1/2/1998 when some neighbors left town and the album Black Hole Sun was on repeat loudly the whole time. It hammered itself into my bones. Look forward to the 2nd Sun conjunct Pluto episode.

Moved to tears, ain’t gonna lie! You told my story! Bink. On the nose. (My cap sun is directly opposed yours at 23 degrees cap to cancer.) I hear we represent each other’s shadow. I’ve had the blessed fortune in my lifetime to have Pluto conjunct both my sag moon and cap sun, which are in antiscion. My natal Pluto is in 7 opposed my Venus. Wheee! Yarks! The dark is noooo stranger so I’ve learned to make space and peace. And sometimes fun! Ain’t no planet can match the passion of Pluto, either. Thank you for all your heartfelt work.

I am born with Sun trine Pluto … my Pluto is in my 12th (I am Scorpio rising) and my Sun is in my 8th … this is an underneath self destructive energy that I am trying to keep on the surface and be aware of (I have a Pluto tattoo so I bring him out of that 12th) Now Mars (Lord of my chart) is also in Gemini in the 8th (aligned with my Sun and powerful in that house but still a hidden one )
Regarding this conjunction, the sun is activating a beautiful sextile from the 3rd to the 12th to natal Jupiter and Saturn (healing, transformation, mental clarity…) and a trine to natal Uranus sitting on my rising (maybe I’ll find the words to express, innovate, transform on an outwardly manner)
Whatever Sun/Pluto bring now, I wish for a positive tower by the time Pluto reaches my South Node (early aqua degrees)

Adam, wow! It makes great sense, I'm actually kinda floored by ur statement. Cause when I was about 16 yrs old I started becoming an addict, and I remember these re-accuring dreams..of an old man with long grey hair and a beard that looked ancient. (Somthing in the bible) anyway I always thought he was a bad spirit. He would look disappointed and mad at me. Now that I'm 43 I'm reflecting... he was just trying to protect me from my choices at the time. Like a Father since I didn't have one. But it was terrifying. 🙏

Oh wow. I had to check the chart for when I had a powerful reaction to the death of Maya Angelou. I didn't see any Pluto transits of note at all that day but I did see two strikingly powerful transits on the day she died--NN exact my Jupiter/Nadir conjunction and Venus conjunct the SN and my MC at the anaretic degree of Aries 1-2 degrees away from the SN and my MC. Pluto right now is opposite my Sun which is at the anaretic degree of Cancer in my 12th and I am really struggling. Major intro to death when I was 5-9 years old approx from both parents--two striking and completely different stories. Jupiter and Saturn were making a grand water trine with my moon that day Maya Angelou died, too, lol! Boy did I sob. Cried more than when both my parents died combined X10 maybe X20. Love this. yes even since I was a child I've always spoke about death and dark subjects - I think I freaked my mom out. Drawing black/dying flowers & asking about death very young. I like the occult, investigation, transformation, and secrets & truth, and strategy. I think for a long time I did not see my own shadow side and tried to shine out the darkness, but actually it is empowering to know the truth and utilize it. My venus also conjuncts pluto/my sun and I find a real beauty in the darkness, the secrets, the truth, the power. I think it transcends this life into soul stories and past lives and speaking/understanding the dead. Or being so positively solar even in the darkest of times and what I have been through that people are inspired or shocked. Yes! The power that death brings for NEW LIFE. That's interesting how you said these spirits come to tear us apart and build us up stronger. It's helped bring deep true understanding of past lives and current motivations/disempowering thoughts that need to be changed into empowering ones. I love that you called it the soil! Like the dead things that turn into fertilizer.

Psychopomp indeed. The album, Ssuperunknown, was in the house from the time it came out. I was 8. I still listen to that album and their others in very constant rotation (I refuse to upgrade from a CD player in my car).
About once a year, I dream that I'm sitting on the floor of an old classroom, like a child at school, and Chris Cornell sings to me with an acoustic guitar.

Thank you. I love the idea of music/musicians being a psychopomp/s. It puts words to my experience of what Nine Inch Nails was for me for several years in my young adult life. It's kind of embarrassing, but it's true.
Alright. I need to get a reading from you regarding this specific subject. I have posted and dove into this very thing over the last few months since learning about my Pluto in the first placement. And now… he’s going into my 5th, and my sun in Leo will be opposed. And Lots of other things. I decided to ‘lean in’ to my darkness.
This is very insightful. I have Sun and Pluto conjunction 7th house in Leo. NATAL I am living with death as all of you are. We can not escape death. This is so funny too. I am laughing with all of this.. NOTHING IS NO LONGER;. LOL. I am good with the Darksun. I have been with this for a long time. I am comfortable with DARK/Sun. I feel very comfortable with the darkish entities.
For some reason, I think about fluorescent lighting and how it makes our bodies look grotesque, amplifies our wrinkles and blemishes on our skin. I think about a blacklight and how it makes things glow and shows blood or bodily fluids. Seeing things in a different light can push us to make a change or see something differently. Change is a version of death.

I do. I live with death close always. This is the first time I’ve heard it mentioned outside of my circle of teachers. I was born with my sun in 4th house of Scorpio, along with my N. node, mars, mercury and Uranus BUT with Pluto in libra se tile to both my Leo rising and Sagittarius Venus. I still don’t know what all of this means but I’ve lost almost all that we’re close to me by death, drugs, violence and suicide. I love deeply and in the moment, grateful for nothing beyond that moment and all others I’ve been given. It is a different level of love. Natal 1st house Scorpio Pluto square 10th house Leo sun. 2022 was one of the most intense years of my life. My marriage gruesomely fell apart, my father almost died, I had an extremely public fall from grace, i was the target of vicious cyber bullying and real life harassment and stalking. Two different people I trusted including my husband laid allllll my shit out there to their audiences. And so i released 12 hours worth of video tapes of my husband’s narcissistic behavior. And it was a horrifying experience. And once it was over i was no longer afraid and no longer embarrassed because there was nothing left to hide. I grew SO much in that time period, and I would never trade the experience away if it meant not being in the space i am today, spiritually mentally and physically. The black sun has been guiding me for quite some time and continues to do so. It’s giving me life.
Worked in a cemetery for about 6 months. Some of the guys there had worked there for 20, 30, 40+ years. It’ll definitely change your relationship with death.

Thanks Adam! Pluto’s been going back and forth over my natal Saturn sun conjunction. I’m a Leo rising with Jupiter conjunct the ascendant so I grew up being pretty moral/self-righteous. However in recent times I’ve really been acting outside of my moral code and probably most people’s moral code. Definitely self destructive and a bit scary. It’s hard to know what to do with it since I used to always assume I was a good person. Recently I’ve actually been questioning the moral paradigm in general and thinking things like “maybe life isn’t about good and bad or right and wrong. Maybe morality is artificial”. I’m thinking about the world before justice and law, the furies etc. It’s very disorienting and stressful and I do feel almost exiled from the light and from everything “nice”.
Try to make decisions out of love not fear/darkness.. love for yourself especially.. step by step you'll pull out of that state of mind.. sorry to hear you're going thru that, I've been there many times too
