It's absolutely devasting what taking off without the proper configuration can do. Those poor people. This is a very tragic reminder of what happened to Northwest Airlines Flight 255 21 years before this one.

It's ironic - even the most well-trained pilot can screw up ONE SINGLE THING on their checklist to the point that the plane crashes. The pilots had to delay the flight by over 2 hours just because their MD-80 had problems. They were so impatient on taking off that they forgot to check the Flaps. During taxi to the gate, even the CVR revealed that, during checklists, the Captain interrupted the Pre-Flight Checks and they never finished.
Haha yes but the animation got the crash wrong. Look at the description on Wikipedia or the final report. The plane's wreckage travelled to the riverbank inverted or on its side, not upright for example.
The plane didn’t crash exactly like that. The plane flew 40 feet above the runway and was banking both sides before it flew to the right of the runway. The landed on the ground just right of the runway. The plane ran off the runway strip and fell onto the ground which is lower than the runway strip. (this lower ground isn’t part of the airport) The plane landed on this ground so hard causing its engines, wings, tail, and all landing gears to tear away from the plane. The fuselage (without its tail and without the wings and engines) continued moving on the ground before crashing into the stream. The CCTV footage and the photos of the crash site suggest that the plane might have burst into flames before crashing into the stream. Source: the final report on this plane crash
@@frost_co nah bro. Also on the final report is said that the plane rotated along its longitudinal axis, meaning that the wreckage was likely inverted or on its side when it stopped at he stream. Also the front part was inverted suggesting the latter possibility (being on its side) is wrong and the plane fully inverted
Besides all the technical errors these can also be blamed on the pressure the company put on the crews, with almost no time between flights. Sanctions on the pilots for delays and such… Add unnecessary pressure for the sake of profit and your chances to make errors will grow.
i tried doing that with no flaps in turbropop and I suffered tailstrike and also in ptfs lol looks like my tail gonna fell off just like japan air 123 😂😂
Yes. ACI often uses these kinds of "Easter eggs". In the XL Airways Germany 888T episode you can see a PSA jet parked next to it. Or at the DC9/727 runway collision there's a Lufthansa 737 parked at a US Airport which doesn't make any sense.
fact: i’m pretty sure on the md-80, they had a test flight which basically ended up horribly. the test md-80 had an engine failure, so they landed, but not so successfully. just like spanair5022, the tail came off instantly.
Fun Fact: in 2007, this crash almost happened in Lanzarote airport, after a plane MD-82 (Same model as JK5022) took off somehow without the flaps & slats configuration.
Hey mate, nice video. Would be appreciated if you could include information about the crash and how many survivors/fatalities there were. I’m getting kind of tired of looking the crashes up
Spanair Flight 5022 was a scheduled domestic passenger flight from Barcelona-El Prat Airport to Gran Canaria Airport, Spain, via Madrid-Barajas Airport that crashed just after take-off from runway 36L at Madrid Airport at 14:24 CEST (12:24 UTC) on 20 August 2008. The aircraft was a McDonnell Douglas MD-82, registration EC-HFP. Of the 172 passengers and crew on board, 154 died and 18 survived. Cause: Attempted takeoff without flaps + the alarm that sounded when flaps weren’t deployed failed. ( Fact: Same thing happened with Delta 1141
I mean no disrespect to any of the victims of this crash, but why does this look like me trying to take off in a flight simulator while knowing nothing about planes
I see that co pilot didn't set the flaps and the captain didn't check it and the warning systems didn't respond to the pilots i thnk that it's the cause of the crash
All of that just because the pilots didn't set their flaps correctly, how simple mistakes can cost many lives
Lapa 3142, Delta 1141, NorthWest 255, Spanair 5022.
There are to many crashes where they just dont set there flaps correctly.

And also Delta 1141 ( 20 years before Spanair 5022 ) crashed because of the same problem: no flaps during takeoff
