At the time of this being uploaded, I would have been 11, in school near where i still live, would've probably been drawing pictures of cars as that's all i ever enjoyed doing (I never got good at it) I would have never even seen a crown vic in person yet but always loved the police cars in movies and games, and around 2006, It would have been i think GTA San Andreas I would have been playing, always taking the police cars, and just driving it around. Anyways, late 2019, i got my dream car, which wouldn't have even been built at the time this video was released, it was actually built around the time i finished school in July of 2011, it wasn't registered until a year later, and it was in services until late 2017 i think, that would be the same year i passed my driving test. the car once decomissioned found it's way over 4000 miles away to end up here where the guy used it daily for nearly a year to sell it to buy one to replace it and modify, i bought it from him, and have had it since, that is my 2011 Crown Victoria police interceptor from El Segundo Police Department. Used daily and am never unhappy driving it. (Enough of my life story, sorry) It's weird for myself to even think that this video was uploaded in the very early years of RUclips, before my car was built, and to think of where each of those officers and cars are at now, how much has changed, how much happened since then. Sorry for the mass of words. Just awesome to see your comment that you was here when it was uploaded. and from a different perspective, i wouldn't have even known about RUclips.
@@Papa7Bravo Didn't expect to get an answer to my comment only two weeks later on this 15 year old video. :D At the time this was uploaded I was 13 years old. I've also seen a lot of american movies with that car. That shape... Very beautiful, I've loved it from the first day. We are at the same age, but you've got your dream car. I was also dreaming about it and now I would be able to buy it, but I don't have the space for this car. I am living in a big city and my garage is from the 1950s. I wouldn't be able to get out of that car or even close the gate. Thats life... Maybe one day I am living at another place with more space for bigger cars. I wish you a lot of fun and luck with your dream car. The Crown Vic is a very beautiful car.
All the patrol cars here are 2000-2004 Impala 9C1s', 2005 Impalas, and 2003-2006 CVPIs. the Crown vic on the left is a 2001-2002 Model, you can also know which NYPD Units have been around before 2005, when they have Vector bars with rotating beacons, that means they are older than 2005. NYPD Mass ordered the LEDs in '05.
Before The City gave them Golf Carts as Police Cars ,To Diminish ,The Police Officers,The Wants To Always Diminish Our Men and Women in Blue,God's Blessings to you ALL and Stay Safe,Thank You For Your Service✝️📖🙏🇺🇸
37,838 officers plus equipment, aviation, car, truck, mobile commands units, dogs, horses, motorbikes, watercraft and anything else I can't think of off the top of my head ...worth every penny
Civillians, understandably, call it "a waste of taxpayer money" for they really do NOT understand the reason behind it. Ok, with that said, the reason: When you have a "Major Incident", It is so much better to mobilize your forces a distance away, organize your manpower, assign certain jobs to certain units & then respond to the location of the major incident, then everyone knows exactly what they have to do- rather than going to a chaotic scene and then trying to organize themeselves there.
seeing the last of the crown vics, those have been some great patrol units over the years, what a shame that they are stopping making them, main plant is now shutdown. Will miss those cars. The Impallas are still nice as well....
When you posted this comment, I must have been 9 😂, I am an Indian student studing in the Stern school of business, the explorers and the Ford fusion hybrids are commonly seen. The rarest I have seen are the GMC Yukon, The Tahoe, and Prius. Also, there are almost no crown vics left in the cities, the taxis and police cars ofc. The place I live has a couple of 75-85 manufactured crown vics, sadly all abandoned
ok Good to know! I was going by the title of the video. Nobody begrudges training for police of firefighters, it is esential to the saftey of the officers and the community.
Additionally, blue lights are not required on authorized emergency vehicles (defined by CVC §165). They are authorized on emergency vehicles pursuant to CVC §25258, but are not required. Additionally, fire/EMS vehicles are authorized to display blue lights pursuant to the aforementioned and an LEO vehicle may display red and/or white pursuant to the aforementioned, the only requirement is a solid red lamp pursuant to §21055(b) and §21806.
Actually.... CVC §21055(b) If the driver of the vehicle sounds a siren as may be reasonably necessary and the vehicle displays a lighted red lamp visible from the front as a warning to other drivers and pedestrians. CVC §21806 Upon the immediate approach of an authorized emergency vehicle which is sounding a siren and which has at least one lighted lamp exhibiting red light that is visible...
I see a lot of these nypd cars are from 1999-2006 being this was uploaded in 2006 are the newer impalas are the 2006 models and the older ones are from 2000-2005 and crown Vic’s are from 1999-2006 as they were still being made up til 2011 which are probably all retired since like 2017 or 18 and the earlier impalas probably retired around 2010 or 11 not sure if any of the later ones are still in service as the last ones were made in 2016 as the ones I see in this video are 2006’s the first year
That just pumps my blood . i love the NYPD was a MOS back in 1988 we did not have excersizes like this because we did not have terror threats like we do today. all we had were little ones at yankee stadium but that was more for riot control. The surge excersize you just saw is performed at least twice daily payed by the Govmt not the city just to keep everyone on the job ready for disaster. Pretty cool. i wish i was on it.
67 Police cars...Now I live in Buffalo NY and the only times I've seen Police responding in thoes numbers where when 3 people got shot in broad daylight where literaly 40 police cars responded too. The time when 2 Buffalo Police officers where shot and 50+ Police responded and when 100+ Police responded to the killing of a Buffalo NY Police officer just down the street from me in 1997.
You got the name right just not the definition.... Basically the NYPD takes one car from every single precint (76) from across the 5 bouroughs and tells them to go to a certain place and see how long it takes for them to get there.
each car, with two cops, will go to a sensitive location in the city to provide presence against terrorism. In this video they will continue together until the lead car, who is a supervisor, turns off his light. Then each car will go to the assigned location or back to their respective precincts.
Well then the tag line needs to be changed it reads "police Parade" not emergency preparedness drill. So if it was truley a parade then it was a waste of gas since every car looks the same why would you need to take say more than 20 of them out for a parade.
Back when the “new” Impala was their crown jewel...
And this... is where GTAIV falls short.
oh wow i remember watching this video 15 years ago when it was just uploaded. now its historic, thank you

Still my favourite NYPD video after all these years ❤️ What a great day to have been at work driving with all those other vehicles wow 👌 👏

I think the most amazing part of this is having that many people with drivers licenses wake up and show up for work.
Niko what are you doing now?!

Its one car from every precinct in the city performing surge drill manuevers.

Great video of rapid mobilization in one of the five boroughs by one of the best police departments in the world.
How do you know they're one of the best?
Great looking cars
That's an awesome site....must be wicked to be there in person, or to be an officer there....just friggin' amazing.
WOW i'm suprised how no one has commented on how things like this are designed to mould the public into accepting the police state
12 years ago wow
the best NYPD SURGE DRILL video out here! Thanks!
Actually, I plan on being a deputy, but for the San Diego County Sheriff's deparment. I living down their better than in LA.
ok Good to know! I was going by the title of the video. Nobody begrudges training for police of firefighters, it is esential to the saftey of the officers and the community.
This is pretty cool! See, being in the Police looks pretty fun.

lol the LCPD is Liberty City Police Department from GTA IV. This is the NYPD meaning New York Police Department
I think Niko Bellic and Luis Lopez are doing a bank robbery!! XD!
Hey guys, i didn't expect so much comments to my movie. Thx for your interest
And many siren buttons were broken that day
We can't feed the poor,Can't help homeless, Take care of vets. BUT WE CAN DO THIS WITH YOUR MONEY.
Brilliant idea, keeps the gangsters actively aware of the federal power
You're wrong, it's red/blue here for an LE vehicle. Red only is used by ambulances/fire engines.
hot light at krispy kreme just went off
Windows XP Vibes
Theres nothing like the sound of an FS SmartSiren :D
this is called a surge drill the NYPD does this in case of a city-wide Emergency
I see a lot of these nypd cars are from 1999-2006 being this was uploaded in 2006 are the newer impalas are the 2006 models and the older ones are from 2000-2005 and crown Vic’s are from 1999-2006 as they were still being made up til 2011 which are probably all retired since like 2017 or 18 and the earlier impalas probably retired around 2010 or 11 not sure if any of the later ones are still in service as the last ones were made in 2016 as the ones I see in this video are 2006’s the first year
Five star wanted level
to the dougnut shop! hehe I love the NYPD
this are not all the cars, there is just one car for each precinct in the city. 75 in total. That's not including cars assigned to transit or housing
There's only one siren but multiple lights on the light bar so they can stand out when they're on.
in 2006 more than 10 years, it was real cars they had, the crown and the impala
we are the best police..NYPD!!
255 and 259 are Impalas, new ones
there was a big sale at the dunkin donuts down the block.
You just watched 68 police cars drive off.
I like the "machine gun" type siren lol bedebedebe
I am a cop, and even I have to admit. That was pretty damn funny.

Nice Video keep up with a great work and be safe out there.

68 Police cars - Badboi.
lol
i think i saw him selling hats in time square
They deal with tougher neighborhoods like compton, and their training and academy is way tougher. LASD Special Enforcement Bureau owns LAPD SWAT too.

i bet the chief was in the black impala at 1:18 . then there was a jeep that was usung the police to get there faster at 2:27 . thats kool.
Note: Was replying to an older posts.... close to 80 precincts I believe the count is.
Welcome to future
Are they going around in a big circle & rejoining the queue? lol. So many.. Damn! lol Nice Vid though.
not only that they would be the 1st ones to call for the cops if something happened to them
You got the name right just not the definition.... Basically the NYPD takes one car from every single precint (76) from across the 5 bouroughs and tells them to go to a certain place and see how long it takes for them to get there.
i know this is a surge drill, but i think god came to visit new york
American police car is mainly, do you car to say that Crown Victoria?
What car What was said that the American patrol car interceptor?
i like the crown vics the most the impalas are new its just to get jused to
Ok i'm a photographer, how would I go about finding the time of one of these drills? I never see one when I do my NYC photo shoots.
@DutchPatriot1588 ahaha same six cars driving around the block. made me lol
just out of curiosity...what were they doing??
bet someone is saying, Must be going to get some donuts
@tingey103 Probably not many. The NYPD has over 34,500 officers, making it one of the largest law enforcement agency's in the world.
I love the NYPD, there the best
and that's probably not even half of the Patrol cars that the NYPD has.........2:27, how did that Jeep get in there???? LOL
Andrew Silva it was a undercover unit
I wanna work there one day! NYPD 4 Life!!
Are you working there?
Well in some states only a fully marked police car can actually do the take down. In fact if no the ticket can be dismissed.
Is this the rumbler siren?
Thats a Federal Signal Smart Siren, dunno what your smoking.
68 cars passing by... and ppl still jay walk
Must be free donuts in Dunkin Donuts
racing to make the two for one deal at dunkin donuts?
Lots of dope cars!
In the 80's they were no match for crime....
hmmm, must be a krispie cream run
I'll never understand why all police cars don't have dual spotlights
What is This? Busted, real life edition?
naa its just the same cars runnin around in a circle. the black car was the fleeing suspect
Are they driving around in a circle?
this was just one station there is many stations in NYC
Darlin ... it's a surge drill, that wasn't 9/11 related.
that unmarked jeep has only one light
What is a surge drill?
You were lucky, right place at the right time!
Awesome Video
They're just driving around the block several times. LOL
that was a chevy impala
lol at 2:00 you can see a police car that went a little too far on the reverse...
Its called a Surge Drill.
How Many Police Cars Were In This Awesome Video
Constable Sam I counted all of em, it was 69 COPS!! 😯
NYPD has a population of half of NYC.
If not, more.
its every police car los angeles has the best police in the world they have the same siren as the ney york ones the fedsig ss2000
Its like when i play gta iv

Can detective cars pull you over?
I'll do this version specially for you :)
