While Journey and Steve Perry have many amazing songs, Wheel in the Sky is one song that gave me some insight into how difficult touring and being successful can be in a person. Thank you, Steve, for being true to yourself and doing what you needed to do to take care of you. You are a blessing to so many people. My heart goes out to you now and always.
Love this! It took me back to the best decade of my life. Steve Perry is a legend with the voice of a God. Truly gifted and that is why he was and will always be called the voice. Thank you for sharing.
Yeah. NY Channel 4 News had a show Live at 5 (apparently from 1979 to 2007) and Sue Simmons cohosted it along with others like Jack Cafferty back in the day. It aired before the 6pm news and often featured cool interviews like this. Thanks for sharing.
Nice posts!! I haven't seen this or the GMA interview in YEARS!! My copies are stuck on a VHS tape in the basement right now.......very cool to see again!!
@@wheelinthesky4208 As I recall my versions are about the same as yours quality-wise. If I ever get my VCR hooked up again I'll have to revisit those tapes. Some of that stuff I probably haven't seen since the late 90's!
That's a great question! My guess is that this tour wasn't as popular as the 1981-1984 tours and there really wasn't as much of a demand for the concert. I know that I wasn't as interested as I should have been and I never saw this tour.
This is a hidden gem - thanks for posting!

Yes, this is New York, and that anchor woman interviewer. I grew up with her face on TV.
That is Sue Simmons.
I was thinking of the Aloha from Hawaii concert when they were discussing the Japan concert & then Steve brought it up!!! Loved this interview

Journey was the first live streaming band!?
Wow Patrick...I didn't think of that but YOU are right...they were the FIRST live streaming band. Great catch.
They played the Brendon Byrne Arena where the Nets & Devils played.🎼🎹🎸🥁
this is from nbc new york 100 percent
Why isn't there any concerts from the 1986 tour.?

It's NY
I'm a huge Journey fan, but what the heck was Steve Perry thinking with that leather outfit with red bandana? So cheesy.
That was the 80's ... I have a lot of questions for many artists fashion choices.😂😂😂
