I've watched so many interviews about Perry's new music. This is my favorite one of all of them. The questions were great. He answered them with more ease and let out answers that seemed honest and heartfelt. It was as if he were just having a conversation with a friend.
Wonderful interviewer. It's always great hearing from Steve. He's "The Voice" whether he's singing or speaking. Steve let those critics outta your head. You're a perfectionist I guess but too tough on yourself. No worries- you're the best
Listening to this interview, it is obvious that Steve had real guts to walk away and admit he needed to take care of himself. In the language of 2021 people are now more understanding of this issue but not in the late 1980'a or 1990's. He sounds very real and very grounded and I am so happy he found love with Dr. Kellie Nash and I am thankful she convinced him to not stay in isolation and now we have him back. Why is it so hard for people to get the fact that no one can work forever all the days of their lives without rest to preserve one's health and sanity?... Machines break down, parts wear out and have to be replaced or turn to scrap, this man is using a human instrument with cords and using those cords nonstop year after freaking year, don't they know that they can get damaged or go bad and they cannot be replaced.OMG😳

I'll add my 2 cents to all the positive comments about the young lady that did the interview BRAVO, JOB WELL DONE! She deserves a big pay raise. Steve never looked better, happier and as always a handsome man.
Long time fan, but not fanatic. I have admired the way Steve has crafted not only his songs, but his singing. That he is rediscovering his joy and passion, is a gift to all of us who share in his musicality. I am drawn to Steve as a singer - I used his voice to warm up with all those moons ago-but not just to mimic-when you are into your music deeply as I hope I was at the time, I listened to his vocal craftsmanship. The nuances come from life experiences; already nearly 30 when he joined Journey - his voice had experience, depth. His vocal shadings, control, range and style on his newest album continue to mesmerize me; I listen with headphones on. Only by living a life of love and loss - if you are a singer and lucky enough to articulate through writing - do you get the subtleties of phrasing he has. I am drawn to him as a singer, but also as a human being; he is someone you can talk with, and someone who listens. I have also learned so much from him regarding music and songwriting; I would think he'd be a great teacher - one that inspires and offers life-work-experiences over one who preaches. I'd give anything to have his presence in a recording studio and share coffee with.
I just saw this and I have to say that this interviewer did such a good job! She was intelligent and caring and she didn't show any kind of nervousness around his celebrity.

Isaiah , I think it was you who thanked me for my comment for your beautiful sister, she and Steve May not have had long together but I get the feeling they packed as much into that short time. I truly think Steve is now more comfortable in his own Skin and I think that’s down to your sisters love for him. Even though he was a broken man when he lost her , he now new what real true all encompassing love is like. So he I think feels free to open up and let people in . What a gift she gave him and I’m sure he’d agree that Dr Kellie Nash bought more to his life before he met her. Not only was she beautiful inside and out she had the greatest smile, and she looked so happy too be where she was on his arm. That was a gift too her as well, because his love for her new no bounds and she had that great love even if too us it doesn’t seem very long. He didn’t speak about the 2nd time he left? Originally, he walked away after 10yrs 1977-87. He did another Solo album 94, toured for it 95 & returned with Journey to record and release “Trual by Fire” in 96!! It was then, that he went to Hawaii & hiked up & mtn. He got the excruciating hip pain which was diagnosed a Degenerative Bone Disease! He was told to get a hip replacement & wanted to find an alternative. He could not tour & 1998 Jonathan Cain called him a said if he wasn’t getting the hip replacment, he had started interviewing a replacement. Steve contacted his Attorney & never contacted them again.
Everytime I listen to any of Steve's interviews, my respect for him just grows . This man is so humble and sincere and that is so refreshing . I can't remember anytime when a man have spoken so openly about his feelings. He is lucky to have had the upbringing that he did because it shaped who he is today in a positive way.

BEST INTERVIEW ! Out of the many interviews I've watched--same questions, same responses just worded differently, this by far was the most revealing of Steve's journey (that pun was not intentional-really!) back to music. Welcome back, Uncle Steve !! 💖😊🎶
I have watched alot of people ibterview Steve. But this was the best hands down. This young women very professional but also the same time very personable. She knew Steve and both very relaxed.. 👏👏👏👍👍👍 I love her dialog with him.. He is so down to earth..love u Steve I hope you find love again... Wish more were like u.. Honest.. Nicely done...

Long time fan, but not fanatic. I have admired the way Steve has crafted not only his songs, but his singing. That he is rediscovering his joy and passion, is a gift to all of us who share in his musicality. I am drawn to Steve as a singer - I used his voice to warm up with all those moons ago-but not just to mimic-when you are into your music deeply as I hope I was at the time, I listened to his vocal craftsmanship. The nuances come from life experiences; already nearly 30 when he joined Journey - his voice had experience, depth. His vocal shadings, control, range and style on his newest album continue to mesmerize me; I listen with headphones on. Only by living a life of love and loss - if you are a singer and lucky enough to articulate through writing - do you get the subtleties of phrasing he has. I am drawn to him as a singer, but also as a human being; he is someone you can talk with, and someone who listens. I have also learned so much from him regarding music and songwriting; I would think he'd be a great teacher - one that inspires and offers life-work-experiences over one who preaches. I'd give anything to have his presence in a recording studio and share coffee with.
I just saw this and I have to say that this interviewer did such a good job! She was intelligent and caring and she didn't show any kind of nervousness around his celebrity.

Isaiah , I think it was you who thanked me for my comment for your beautiful sister, she and Steve May not have had long together but I get the feeling they packed as much into that short time. I truly think Steve is now more comfortable in his own Skin and I think that’s down to your sisters love for him. Even though he was a broken man when he lost her , he now new what real true all encompassing love is like. So he I think feels free to open up and let people in . What a gift she gave him and I’m sure he’d agree that Dr Kellie Nash bought more to his life before he met her. Not only was she beautiful inside and out she had the greatest smile, and she looked so happy too be where she was on his arm. That was a gift too her as well, because his love for her new no bounds and she had that great love even if too us it doesn’t seem very long. Do you know he still talks about her with such love and respect it eases your heart a bit too know just how much she was loved . 🎼♥️🇦🇺♥️🇺🇸
Steve stated that you never get over loosening someone, it gets better, but you never get over it. Can you imagine the thousands of women that Steve could of had,yet he chose Kellie. This proves that true love comes straight from the heart. He said that he felt something when he saw her smile. He let his heart lead him to true love. He said he loved her before he met her. 😅
I hadn't seen this interview. I love the interviewer!!!! She had great questions and though much younger than "Uncle Steve" LOL she was terrific!!!! LOVE Traces!!!!! A very important album in my life now. The connection with it is very deep and it has comforted me in the worst time of my life. Thank you Steve.

He didn’t speak about the 2nd time he left? Originally, he walked away after 10yrs 1977-87. He did another Solo album 94, toured for it 95 & returned with Journey to record and release “Trual by Fire” in 96!! It was then, that he went to Hawaii & hiked up & mtn. He got the excruciating hip pain which was diagnosed a Degenerative Bone Disease! He was told to get a hip replacement & wanted to find an alternative. He could not tour & 1998 Jonathan Cain called him a said if he wasn’t getting the hip replacment, he had started interviewing a replacement. Steve contacted his Attorney & never contacted them again.
Everytime I listen to any of Steve's interviews, my respect for him just grows . This man is so humble and sincere and that is so refreshing . I can't remember anytime when a man have spoken so openly about his feelings. He is lucky to have had the upbringing that he did because it shaped who he is today in a positive way.
