these worshipped God in their FLESH
in what they thought was best,
how they felt
but God is a jealous God,
He is not to be polluted or disgraced by other filthy token useless gods,
God is to be worshipped in Spirit
and in truth

The Lord is not an ADD-ON condiment
nor is He a little of this, and a little of that
God and His glory is not to be shared -
unless their is pure honest and total devotion
This is the problem today with many religions,
because for them it's a la carte God,
I like this part, but not that one
or just give me the love, but not the discipline.
For this reason people like Oprah say,
my God will let many ways to Him,
it's not 50 shades of grey
or 50 ways to leave your lover
it is - Jesus is the WAY, the TRUTH, the LIFE.
ONE WAY
Amen Spurgeon had it right - God doesn't want a token pittance offering
He doesn't need any part of that, after all - shouldn't the giver know all is His
God wants ALL of YOU
not 1/2 of you
nor part or a piece of you every now and then
you are either on FIRE and CONSUMED by your love for Him as Pastor David,
or you are going on each day, happy go lucky as you will,
but without prayer, without opening the Scripture, without study,
without being involved in fellowship, alert to the needs of others to be helped and encouraged, well sorry to say, you are pretty much living then every day according to as you will, your own dicates, your own edicts, and the question remains, where is the Lord in your life?

We either live for God - according to His will
or we live for ourselves, as we please (and some hope for the best)
A lot of good people as Spurgeon points out are not saved people.
we are either being sanctified or mortified and sinking.
Choose to start anew with Jesus today, ask Him to forgive what you have been negligent in or abandoned - we know in our head often, but not in our heart.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you do - the right thing.
Powerful! God is in control.
The beginning of wisdom...

Few are the ‘preachers’ honouring the God of Israel
And the message of SALVATION
The speech this morning was on some swimmer and his tough training 😷
All the martyrs of the faith
The Apostles who were beheaded and the Prophets who were sawn in two
None was seen fit to mention in the church of the living God
Instead we had to listen to the speech about some swimmer😮
