Also the chronograph did not always work. I also found issues with the magazine.Sentback to dealer and they sent back to daystate just over a month later i got a call from the dealer to say it was ready.Drove a hundred miles to collect the gun, the man in shop told me there was a spare magazine in the gun case, took the gun home, found that the magazine I had been given was the old one which was damaged and the new magazine had a magnet that dropped out, also metal dust cover for the air filler port was missing, I rang the shop who asked me not to touch magazine as warranty would be voided, then got a call from Simon of daystate who apologised when i explained problems, and he asked me if I had sent the magazine back to the gun shop and I said no. He explained that I could use super glue to glue magnet in place and also said he would send a dust cover, I glued and waited until following day before using it. I tested it and realised the ft lbs were only 10.6, but before it went away it was 11.5, so I phoned the gun shop and was virtually called a trouble maker and must have been something I did. I have been shooting air rifles for over ,40years, am an engineer and run s business for over 25 years, and when the shop told me they had tested the gun I was surprised at the problems existing on receipt of the gun. The shop told me that if I sent the gun back I would have to pay for any further work even though the gun was guaranteed for 3 years. I sent an email to daystate and the gun shop and after a lot of stress, time and money travelling back and forth, I eventually got a refund, unfortunately this has put me off the Daystate groups products, and I wish I had listened to my local gun shop rather than RUclips folk

I have also been treated badly by a RDF... You are clearly a sensible gentleman, and accusing you of anything was silly. Fantastic rifle. It's especially important that you explain how it is robustly built compared to others. You need a FAC license. Then you will be able to fully use the capability of this rifle. It seems necessary for a job reviewing modern airguns. The UK should up the legal limit to at least 50ft pounds. Just because modern airguns shoot bigger calibers nowadays. Even South Africa can use a. 22cal without any limitation on power. God bless you brother. ❤ 🇺🇸
Heith, thank you for your ongoing support. I really like reading your comments! I would imagine that a FAC license is on the cards... But I honestly believe this gun can still be appreciated in sub 12 format. Take care!
@@southwestshooters I agree wholeheartedly. I would still purchase the Delta Wolf in sub 12ft pounds. But given the choice. I would love to be able to go from 12 to 40ft pounds in 177cal.
Throughly enjoyed that ,you have showed the abilities of the gun well and shot well. After buying a daystate revere yesterday I can only agree with you on the quality and feel of these amazing guns my tuned airarms s400 has been put to one side for the moment. I’m looking forward to see how it performs next to your red wolf.
I had this rifle in .25 cal FAC but it decided to go wrong a few times, so in the end i got a full refund and bought a fx impact M3 in .25 cal. Even though this happened i STILL am in love with the concept of the Delta wolf and i do hope that by the time a Mk2 version of this gun comes out then Daystate will of ironed out all the silly issues lots of shooters have been experiencing. The fact that you can quickly program a different 'curve' is still a big winner for me .
just to let you know that the DW sleep mode has different settings than just one setting for the sleep mode . Now at the moment I can't remember what the setting are .But with mine if I remember I have it set at 3 to 5 minutes something like that .
Your reviews are simply fantastic. I had to watch this again. Mainly because I remembered you described the robust build quality of the Delta Wolf. I have never held a FX Impact. So I won't mince words. Straight to the point. Do you believe this rifle is built better than the FX Impact?
Well over here in the states we don't need a FAC license .So we can go up a 50 cal or higher if we want . But with me I have the 25 and the 30 cal DW yes yes you can witch out the barrels . and I love the 25 cal using NSA slugs are awesome at 100 m hitting a 2' gong with no issues . Now with the 30 cal don't like slugs because of the slow twist rate on the barrel .
Yes, it would be the best air rifle ever to have a high-flow balanced valve and to have a larger regulated plenum like the FX has( I don’t mean Impact models). The FX valve is much easier to service or modify its features than in Daystate. They would be even better off having a valve like the Altaros M24 that goes on sale in a couple of weeks! ...
@@southwestshooters The problem with the Delta Wolf arises when you need a lot of power for slugs or when you want larger calibers. See how much max. FPEs can deliver for each caliber and on how many bars their plenum works. See also efficiency calculator. With the FX there is a problem with the hammer bouncing when the power is raised high, the FX with a regulator of about 130 bar gives the same power as the Daystate at 190 bar. If they didn’t have a solenoid hammer that has no backlash( bouncing) they wouldn’t be so successful! I want to say that Daystate needs to work on internal ballistics, I mean primarily the valve (and regulated plenum). Their barrels are as great as a solenoid hammer with all the electronics!

That’s a big thing for me .. I do pest control work for the local council and can dispatch over 60 pigeons in under an hour .. that’s 2 reloads of an fx mag to 6 on the delta ,other issue is I service my own rifles and the fx is simplistic and easy to repair .. not so sure about the delta wolf , the electric side of things don’t bother me as I’ve owned and shot for years since my hft rifle the MK3 FTR .. also air wolf NEVER AN ISSUE .. also my MK4 , I had a redwolf Safari and again problem free but just way too long , can’t shorten the barrel on the redwolf only option was to re-barrel it so I sold it on .. such a shame as it’s a truly brilliant rifle , but this review has given me more to think about regarding my decision 👍🏼

@@HeshamALAhdal the content of this video? I'm very happy with all the groups, and it's what I would expect from a gun of this quality. I have expensive rifles. But my Gauntlet and Avenger are just as accurate. Spending more, can be about more, than just holes in paper. These rifles are for enthusiasts. If you simply want a accurate, reliable rifle. I would purchase one of the other used rifles this channel reviews. Plus you will receive a warranty.
After owning this gun for 15 months , I can now say this gun suffers with barrel resonance problems, I’ve tried everything to make it shoot without flyers , you name it I’ve tried it , barrel cleaning, weighted pellets sorted pellets , lubed pellets, at least 20 brands of pellets , there is nothing I haven’t tried , the gun shoots with a standard deviation of 0.2 over 20 shoots , couldn’t ask for better , but still chucks out flyers consistently, so I hung a led weight on the barrel and presto no flyers, so my next job is to drill new grub screw holes in the action to hold the barrel in from both sides , this will make the barrel more stable , and stop the barrel resonance, the original 1 screw holding in the barrel is doing harm to the accuracy of the gun , all you have to do is watch every delta wolf video on RUclips and you will see they all have flyers , not a coincidence, but the most amazing thing is watching them all making excuses for the groups I even did it myself prat , anybody with a delta wolf just get some electrical tape rap it right around the barrel and bottle tight and watch the group’s improve crazy , it stopped the resonance in an instant, great R&D Daystate, I bet the next model or mk2 will have more screws to stiffen the barrel up , you heard it here first
Thank you for this detailed information. Please can you elaborate more on what you did? Is there a simple way to make this modification to the gun? I'd be very interested to hear anything more about your experience on this.
The gun is still shooting amazing after my modification, I took one of the screws out from the front holding the picattiny rail on where the barrel connects to the action , replaced with a longer screw so when you screw it in it touches the barrel , it tightens the barrel down and presto different gun , it’s now my go to gun a joy to shoot
As an owner of a delta in sub 12 it is a lovely rifle. Shame you loose a lot of features compaired to the FAC. Shoots well but not as good as the red wolf I have. It has had to go back to daystate once. Fell disapointed that it took a month to fix also feel mis sold as bluetooth isn't available. The gun is a year old and still no bluetooth. Seems these guns are sold with all the promise but then not delivered.
I can understand you are disappointed Colin - but I would anticipate that there are more upgrades and advances that are going to be made to this gun in the future? I can't guarantee it - but perhaps a firmware update will add this feature? Still, I am pleased you like the rifle.
Enjoyed the video, but I quote your own words (pellet on pellet ) I don't think so 🤔. Keep trying to get a good group with any quality air rifle and eventually you will,ie your 60 mtr. Group. I also am a daystate fan .and I own two of them, but my air arms s510r sub 12ft 1b will do the same grouping, for much less than half the price.
No I agree. But I also believe that the term 'pellet on pellet' is actually useless. You are right, this isn't a single hole - which would indicate pellet on pellet. I guess I was trying to say that they were good groups. Pellet on pellet isn't a useful term. Thank you for taking the time to comment on the video.
Jesus wept, £2400 quid for an air rifle, I run an s400 wich will match if not beat those groupings at 30 -40 -50 and probably even 60m Folk have got to have lost there minds paying that , I'm not anti daystate, but u could buy 3 exceptionally good guns for that. Or you could just gou out and spend 500 on a standard (21 Yr old) s400 and match anything that's out tbere....
I absolutely believe that you might be able to do this! But that isn't the point really.... I mentioned in the video that I suspected people were going to say the exact same thing, however, you are missing out on the options and quality of the DW. The fact that cheaper alternatives exist is a wonderful thing, but you have to remember, they aren't this gun. You didn't mention that these groups were bad, so I assume you were slightly happy with them? Regardless, if you would like to show some evidence of you shooting at the distances I shoot in this video with your Air Arms, then I, and I guess everyone else, would like to see it too.
@@southwestshooters yes I sure will try get the video up, no I'm not saying the groups are bad , but people have to understand there is a limit to what any 12ftlb riffle / barrel are capable of, and it was pretty much reached years ago, now its all a matter of , reinventing stuff to push sales along..... I'll try getvte video up at some point and link it to you, but it won't be as professional as yours😅
Awesome. It can be modified for left handers really easily. You might notice that I sometimes shoot let handed - when I am not on a rest. It felt fantastic - and that was without changing anything! I'd imagine if you swapped the side of the cocking arm and the cheek piece it would be even more comfortable.
@@southwestshooters I have been looking at these , and the ghost, but read and see a fair bit of bad press , and mentions that they are a difficult company to deal with should the need arise ? I do have a question that you might be able to answer which was a small concern , with the settings if a person was to select the shorter length barrel, but actually had the longer barrel fitted , would the computer know ? or could this make a sub12 shoot over , if the computer makes adjustment according to the selected settings, a shorter barrel uses more gas in comparison to a longer barrel .. ?
Hardly. You get almost none of the features on the sub 12 version, that daystate spent 7 months hyping up (also they didn’t bother to tell us that) they were rushed out, and have issue after issue. The amount I’ve seen that’s been returned to daystate is staggering. I’ve seen owners return them for one issue, only to get the gun back with even more. Save yourself £600 and buy a walnut Red Wolf hi lite. Shoots just as good, less issues, and far better looking. Use the 600 you saved to get a decent scope.
I decided not to add anything that I could not prove into this video. I am unaware of the issues you mentioned, so I think it would be appropriate to consider the content of the video rather than the context of the things you gave observed, which, although I am sure are true, aren't things that I have any insight into. But I value your input.
@@southwestshooters no problem. I think when everything has been ironed out, and if it had more of the features on the sub 12, then it would be an incredible gun.
I’m sorry but I didn’t see anything in this video that convinced me to buy a DW. For the money I could buy an impact or wildcat and a nice scope. And have better accuracy and precision.
I expect smaller groups, that is frustration. We do better groups with cheaper rifles. At 40-50 meters with hatsan or kral of course possible to make a group under 10 mm. Ten shot just 1 hole on target.
I totally respect your views, I just question how realistic you are being. I looked on your channel and found a video where you are giving a review on a Kral Puncher Pro 500, and at the 18 min mark you shoot three pellets into a target for a total of three different targets - and you are shooting indoors. I do not see anything close to 10 shots going into one hole - and you are also shooting inside. I am shooting outside in my video, so I am not sure if it fair to make the inferences you do. I would also like to add, and this is from my personal hands on experience, that Hasan and Kral guns feel like toys compared to the Delta Wolf. I agree with you to an extent - you can get close - but that's it...you can only get close.

Very few reviews and in-depth info on the Delta Wolf. Part 1's only.
Thank you! I hope you enjoyed the video. Please consider subscription to the channel if you liked the content. Take care.
Jesus wept, £2400 quid for an air rifle, I run an s400 wich will match if not beat those groupings at 30 -40 -50 and probably even 60m
Folk have got to have lost there minds paying that , I'm not anti daystate, but u could buy 3 exceptionally good guns for that.

How is it for left handers
Awesome. It can be modified for left handers really easily. You might notice that I sometimes shoot let handed - when I am not on a rest. It felt fantastic - and that was without changing anything! I'd imagine if you swapped the side of the cocking arm and the cheek piece it would be even more comfortable.
I'm getting Pulse Rifle Aliens vibes from the looks
I'm trying to get my hands on one of those for review - they are proving difficult to find.
LO> Shooting is so good. The target is literally smoking while your shooting.
how many time has it had to go bk for repair ?
0.
@@aevans692 That's a question I can't answer - but if it were a choice between this and the ghost, I'd get the ghost!
Shot count in .177 and .22?
In 177....way too many to keep track of.
Google it
You better just have a fresh tin of pellets. 🤣🤣🤣

I agree with you to an extent - you can get close - but that's it...you can only get close.

unbiased?
Yes. Well, as much as I can be. I am lucky to be supported by daystate, and I make this clear to everyone. Try the gun and see for yourself?
Im sorry old bean though taste is subjective my FX CROWN MK2 in forest green .177 sub 12ftlbs is as good.
so smart so fancy, but still the need of a lever to reload WHY??? so sad that that can be so hard to figure out........
Plus surely a gun that relies on a tiny chip is cheating isn’t it ?
