Private den - atmos room. Fill with infinite nitrogen and can eat without mask!
Yeah true, could do a vox only breathing section in the bar for patrons to eat and drink.
fun fact, there used to be a snippet in the atmos guidebook that referenced a Vox-only nitrogen room as a job atmos techs can do
@@Liltenhead Slime and Vox only room for food and drink
It's called a Vox box, ss13 we used to make them all the time for Vox. Plasmaman bars are the real hard ones, pure plasma so plasmaman can smoke.
Literally saw one set up in the bar on a Wizden server, like, on the first day the Vox were added.
Could build a "Vox lounge" in the bar with scrubbers and an airlock to keep it 100% nitrogen only
im sure it's being done as we comment this lol
It was on the first shift I was in after the update! @@Liltenhead
That sounds hilarious, I love it
Now the moths have two predators on station😢
moths and arachnits are the coolest spiecies imo
Humans are primal predators and They like moths so IT balances out
Until they can eat without being poisoned i consider only one
plasma men at home:
Yea
What if I want to be on fire
they cant get a tan at singulo tho :(
There are few things funnier than a medical intern discovering a plasma man for the first time...
But this will also be pretty funny.
now, ss14 can experience the wonders of the "vox box".
Billions must screech.
"Vox doesn't share food!"
The poison damage makes eating in space better than in station wow
true
I feel like they should probably take airloss instead of toxin damage, so it's not quite as brutal. And, as others have mentioned, they probably need some mechanical benefit beyond just having internals on -- which isn't really species specific as anyone can wear internals if they want.
It’s nice to see new species being added, especially one so iconic.
Vox always on life support
wont forgive them "nukies only humans", even if they add something good like this.
already a pr to revert it
I never had time to be Diona nuker
Fiona nukie sucks, but yeah you are right…
@@drakonlegend4452 i know, but i really like them, they so cute and have such funny noises
I mean, I think human supremacy is based, but... Why only nukies?
(I really don't like that CM14 has non-human marines. Pretty cringe imo)
so if they add surgery to the game and we were actually able to change organs and limbs of creatures with other creatures and borgs , we would be able to give vox people lungs that braeth normal air?
I hope so
"Yeah, the surgery went well, but don't take the mask off"
"What, why?"
*suspiciously maskless vox:* "Thank you, kind stranger!"
On SS13 you could take off the ashen lungs from ashwalkers and put common o2 lungs in place and they would be able to breathe in station.
finally, the hardmode species
Vox are a personal favorite of mine that reminds me of the old plasma skeletons. There are certain masks that if you wear with internals on you can eat and drink (mime and clown mask) I see vox speak in a group style using we and us instead of I but that's just personal flavor along with my own Vox Religion.
Average Vox:
"Squawk. Purdy bird! Purdy bird! Honk!
Nevermore. Waka waka waka."
R2D2 and Chainsaw sounds.
Its nice for them to provide a challenge but i feel there needs to be something additional to them because breathing nitrogen on its ownisnt super compelling imo. Personally i'd give them natural barotrauma resistance (not immunity) and the ability to navigate space extremely slowly thanks to their wings but i'd double down on making the normal station less hospitable for example being unnable to wear any helmet or mask thats not specially made for them. The idea here is to really build on the idea that they arent suited for the station like everyone else but can excel slightly in more harsh conditions. Theyll still be incredibly hard to play with the O2 and helmet thing and the ability to navigate spaced environments wont be that useful as everyone else can just use a suit and be immune (whereas these guys may not even be able to wear the suit helmet)
They need Emergency Induction Port™
These guys look awesome!!!
I imagine many station designers will just add a separate room just for the Vox right next to the bar/kitchen, with a simple glass airlock between the two. I can also see "phonebooth" style 4 tile rooms with Nitrogen tanks that are fed from Atmos' supply and pumped throughout the station like O2 is. Just a simple in and out tank exchange or "a quick bite and back to it" idea.
I cant imagine many people playing this race otherwise. O2 poisoning just from respiration is a nightmare.

Lone vox salvagers can drag an N2 tank into the salv shuttle, at least.
Remind me a lot of the Chozo from Metroid in terms of their design, I like the less anthropomorphic look to them as bird people. Looking forward to using them once they're out!
Oh yeah, I see that too . They are playable right now on Wizden.
Oh nice!
I am incredibly spacist to vox’s.
oh
Oh.
having characters that work like this meaning you have to either add more accommodations or just find a way to keep yourself safe is really interesting
the poison tick for breathing oxygen seriously needs to be reduced if only for quality of life purposes.
I usually keep a mask on regardless to stop me from drinking random crap off of the floor.
Whilst the Vox scream is pretty unique, the lizard scream is still my fav 😂
Oh skrek, the space vultures are here.
If you get a mime mask or a clown mask you don't have to worry about your eating as you can eat through it while keeping your tank flowing.
looking forward to seeing nitro bars now (bar converted into an airlocked room with a nitro distro system)
Good video
mime masks and clown masks, works as oxy, lets you eat
Vox eating hall in the sm reactor core
BIRB! BIRB! BIRB!
Do we get chicken meat from butchering them?
Delta has a different bird species I think? Which seems more interesting due to abilities and them just breathing more instead of nitrogen
Harpies I believe? Or Avali, it's one of those.
Would you mind making a quick tutorial on how to make a vox box in med and or the bar?
sure
great day for an all vox station with nitrogen airflow
So human with disadvantage? Like a human can always have o2 on to avoid chems and stuff, it has to has a positive?
Would it be safer as a vox to eat a meal in space rather then the station?
Probably, since barotrauma will do less, and be more easily healed, than poison
yes, much safer you'll just heal it off
Now I really wish we had a method for making tinyfans or long lasting holofans for nitrogen hang out spots
They look like the skeksies from Dark Crystal.
vox nitrogen bars coming to maint near you
is it just me or does vex got some goofy design
Solution for food: Suppository.
Finally a species that isnt a direct upgrade from humans 🙏
Nah, I'd adapt
I feel the fox toxin damage will have to be reduced or removed in the near future. Dying because you had to eat isn't ideal sadly. It's an awesome feature for sure but for quality of life reasons I don't see it sticking around
i wouldint remove it, but instead give them natural poison regen from breathing nitrogen, to help mitigate it while also giveing them a bit of a bonus since they lack any real benefits for being a vox
@@jaycobhughes3932 nah just adopt a medibot lol
WHAT????????????????????????? BIRB?????? UHHH YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
kinda sad that their only thing that sets them apart in terms of stats is litterally a debuff. All other spiecies have something good and something bad. but they only have something bad. Unless you are clown and you want to make other peopels ears bleed
could make their bodies immune to rotting as per their lore
@@Bede__ that would be cool
*sighs* guess I'll just have to make IPC's myself..
There is a server I play in that has IPC's. It is a brazilian server, so the language is Portuguese. There are other unique things, like in the every Thursday, they change the code to others, like Colonial Marines. The name is "Estação Pirata"
@@kaue4783 that's awesome lol
Wouldn't you run out of nitrogen quickly if all you have is an emergency tank?
It looks to be an extended emergency tank, but that's still only about 5-10 minutes, so likely your first stop is still gonna be atmos
they should make them breathe less volume then they are at least good for outer space work
Is this on Delta-V yet?
i have a feeling vox is going to get some insane buff soon. too many downsides with no advantage like other species have. prpbably gonna get toggleable moonboots effrct because their wings.
Vox are specifically designed as a challenging species
It’s intentional. Plasmamen and Vox in SS13 have tons of downsides and I imagine it’ll be the same here if plasmamen are ever added as well.
At least the game now has a weaker race than Dion
@@RetroCube I hope Plasmamen get added soon
@@RetroCube john purple guy gets a head role, immediently self-immolates until failure
Seems very annoying to play.
Could just make the N2 issue just like slimes instead of making it a chore.
KFC
Seems like its a race for an extra challenge. Big downside with no upsides.
can't see why anyone would play as this race. no upsides and the debuff seems really annoying
edit: i am not saying that this is a bad race i just personally do not understand why anyone would want to play as it
It was designed deliberately to be challenging. Plus, lots of people play races for reasons outside of hard mechanics. Some people just like being silly slimes for example and the ability to turn into a geras is just a perk.
Least bait comment
@@loups3190 turning into a slime is a upside for me but imagine a slime but the only different thing to humans is that you take more pierce and pressure damage
That's how original ss13 balancing is meant to be. All the other races suck and are only godlike under very specific circumstances, like plasmemes being immune to radiation, sitting in a SM core soaking up rads waiting to unleash it upon the crew.
@@MutatedOnion Turning into a geras is typically a never. It's the same speed as others despite there being a PR to fix that. You lose everything. It would probably be 'better' for slimes to just not have it because then it wouldn't happen on accident. (I am not suggesting we remove that, that would be dumb. It's just not really a perk at all.)
the most disappointing looking species is the arachnids. theyre just a human with some things coming off the back. even the moths look better. the slimes taking on a humanoid shape to fit in is sensible in comparison
The good races (vox, slime, moth, etc) are all from 13, the arachnid is a Wizden original and was a lazy awnser to the original Nyano's arachnids, which were MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILES better, they had a new diet, more aggravating upsides and downsides, they had an actual spider body, they could drink blood.
Yup, if you could believe it, a lot of Wizden is literally taking stuff from other server, and making a worse version of it just to say they didn't take it from a downstream. I don't hate Wizden but they're clearly *too prideful* and I feel like that hurts their version of the game sometimes.
furry lore
This is garbage
Do you have an actual reason?
So this is just another furry race how fun
sexual deviants that ironically obsess over neo-puritanical ERP rules have irreversibly ruined the spess community, it's been this way for years
Looks less cringe, that's the upside
Y'all are literally playing a furry game what are you guys on about?
Seriously, I have a feeling y'all did not play anything that isn't Wizden-adjacent, which is basically the minority of the hub.
@@romulo2714 believe it or not spess existed before you people arrived and ruined it
@@romulo2714 Yeah it's not hard to tell, the terrible management of everything really gives it away.
what if im going to be a crazy doctor and change out the lungs.
