Earlier in the season alot of the deep throws were caught because our WR are who they are Will under threw them sooooo many times in the regular season but now hes putting it on the money most of the TDs have in stride not the WR stopping the catch it then making amazing runs after catch. So i agree they didnt decide to hold this stuff back for the sake of holding it back i dont think it was there how they wanted it to be now its flawless so far in these playoffs #GoBucks

Nothing will convince me otherwise that it was the more 'critical' fanbase after the Xichigan game that had a huge part in turning Day into the coaching monster with the killer instincts we all knew he and this team had in them. This is extremely a wild year for Ohio state. The worry and frustration is gone and it really feels as if there isn’t a team out there that cant stop the train from rolling. Now does that make me naive, delusional?? Maybe, but this really feels like how it felt watching Bama in the 2010s when there was no stopping them.
It really felt that way early on when they were running away in the recruiting class war. If they do win the National Championship it will help in recruiting as well.
We are in the middle of possibly the greatest season in the history of The Ohio State Buckeyes. We gave the finger to Michigan and the SEC beating Tennessee like a drum. We stomped the guts out of those pretty green uniforms. We are a freight train rolling down a hill.
No doubt it this team beats Top 10 Penn St., Indiana, ND, Oregon, Texas, Tennessee it’s the single greatest Ohio State season in history. Went to see the locked on ducks podcast to see what the other side had to say and it blew my mind. They thought they simply lost bc of coaching, planning, and bc it was an off day rather than bc they got man handled and out talented. I'm dumbfounded that that's what they gathered from that game

In less than a month I went from "Fire Ryan Day And Justin Frye" to now where I feel like both have done incredible jobs in the playoffs, especially Frye in patching up that line. If they win it all I will never call for Ryan Day's job again (Frye simply needs to offer more scholarships earlier to highly rated kids instead of trying to be too conservative in offering scholarships to the elite kids). I won't promise that I'll never say they need to replace Frye because although he's done an incredible job in the playoffs I just don't like the way he recruits at all. I will say that it appears that he can develop guys so I'm just confused with him. Go Buckeyes, we want this National Championships as much as you guys want it.

As a general statement what you say is true. It does not apply here. We have seen a total 180 in what they are trying to do. This was not a situation of 'they tried this all year and it is just now gelling' together.

Ryan Day has reeled me back in and gaining some of my trust in him alongside the coaching staff, I'm pumped he changed things for the best and has them playing pissed and doing what they were built to do!
2014 was the year I graduated high school and enrolled as a freshman at OSU. I like to joke around that me being on campus that fall was the good luck charm we needed to win the championship, because it felt so extra special for me in my freshman year at my dream school to get to experience that. So hey, maybe you starting your buckeye coverage this year is our good luck charm for 2024. More fantastical things have happened, lol. In all seriousness though, this year really does feel different. Hope our gut feeling is right about this.
I want to know what went down in the player/coaches meeting after the TTUN game. Whatever happened seemed to change things. It will be interesting to see if Ryan Day carries his new mindset forward. Let coaches coach and let players play.

I watched the game. Ugh. ND was my surprise pick from the start of the yr but I had osu/ga as the 2 best teams. Don’t fool yourself, GA has much more talent than ND. Right there with TX and right behind OSU. Actually better SpTeams than osu except they loss their punter. In saying that - I AGREE 💯 with you - i went on a rant in 2022 when everyone was saying GA a dynasty after 2 NCs. Ridiculous. I have a pod from that time that I’m going to tweet out where I ranted that GA was not a dynasty yet and may never be! I’ll be making a vid about this today.

This is probably way out there....but most people accept that Day stepped in and said "fix the D" after Oregon 1.0. I wonder if after TTUN he got more involved with the passing game and freed up Chip to focus on adjusting run game to the revamped line....because for the last 2 games that downfield passing game sure as hell looked a lot like 2020-2022
This is what I have been saying all season. Day has always focused on what the opponent doesn't do well and attacks that regardless of his own teams strengths. We are now seeing Day focus all on OSU and the strengths of his team and say try to stop it. How many times did WH throw to JJ when Oregon was in two high and it didn't matter. Sure throw in some wrinkles that are good against Texas but focus on yourself and your own strengths.

Law of averages says it will eventually happen, and what's ironic is it will be the toxic fan base who think they can fire their way thru tough times or harass players and families cause someone dropped a ball, that will bring on the down years. This is exactly correct. He deserved every bit of criticism and questioning he received just as he deserves all the praise he’s is getting for his response to that. It’s all valid and may have been necessary to be honest
