Being more blunt or over-the-top can help something feel more comedic, or help convey a specific emotion to the audience. A lot of people seem to have missed the subtlety of Wise's reaction for Belle's more dramatic one. Both of them were terrified it was just expressed differently in ways that inform the player about their character.
