I have mentioned in one of your videos, wood anemones have a two year cycle from planting - year 1- they put down roots and the second year you should see flowers - good luck
Really beautiful flowers ! Because of your videos about spring bulbs I got really excited about them and in autumn 23 I planted lots of tulips in my garden. They start to flower now and I’m really enjoying them! Next autumn I will plant lots of daffodil and more crocus (I have a lot of wild ones which flower very early but I want more bigger crocus for later in spring). It’s so inspiring to watch your channel.❤ greetings from Dresden, Germany 🌷
The mini meadow has come on beautifully! I have also seen tulips growing in amongst the grass in swathes, surprisingly stunning and in semi shade. I hope your poorly duck made a good recovery.🙏
Watching you from the SE part of the USA, Zone 8. I'm so envious of your garden because cottage style is my favorite! We just don't see them much over here. It was very warm when my tulips bloomed, so the petals shattered pretty quickly. Snapdragons and pansies are really giving us a good showing. Thanks again. I LOVE your videos!
Thanks so much for saying that 😊 That’s really cool you’re all the way over there! Shame the tulips were over so quickly, always feels like a game of luck with them doesn’t it? Snapdragons and pansies sound beautiful though.
This is wonderful. Your garden is an absolute dream! I’m adding fritillary to my list of bulbs to try. The soft yellow of the daffodils next to the deep purple of the fritillary’s is magical! And thank you for spending time discussing the disappointments in the garden-every spring we have to deal with a few little heartbreaks, but then, there are often a few pleasant surprises to balance things out.
This year my pickwick crocus lawn apparently was in full bloom, looking like 500 of the 700 or so showed up. But I had been home sick and didnt see them appear and when I went out so se them the rabbits had eaten EVERYTHING but three lonely crocus. I soaked in the beauty of those poor three ones like no tomorrow lol. Damn… the raskals eat them ALL.
The narcissus and snake head's meadow garden is a show stopper! I was keeping my eye open for the Rambling Rector. I hope you will capture some blooms this year. All that new fencing would be a nice home for some Clematis. Do you like Sweet Briar?
@@monalogueI just saw You in Gardener's World from 2023. It was really informative. I knew You had been diagnosed with autism, but I didn't realized what difficulties it would bring, because I see You as an extremely calm and joyful person. Thank you for telling about it. Greetings. Agnieszka
I don't think your crocus foliage looks messy at all. I found you via your crocus lawn video. You're one of the few who have footage of what the lawn looks like when it grows up (gotta find the motivation to plant all those bulbs, right??) After the crocus video I watched an earlier video of yours when you were just starting!!! Absolutely incredible work. You've cultivated an amazing and beautiful garden. I see your vision and I think you did a great job tackling it. You may have these videos up already and I just haven't found them yet, but want to see a pond update since that is gardening on hard as well as how your cacti are doing. I'm curious about your zone and where the cold hardy cacti are from. We have prickly pear in MN and they are a very cold hardy.
Viridiflora are tulips that are perennial. They are like parrot tulips with a green streak running through them. They come in several colours. Sarah Ravens catalogue is good for finding tulips. She says which ones are reliably perennial. K
I think the mystery narcissus might be Pheasant Eye. Do they have scent? If yes, that might be the one. Your garden is looking fabulous, especially the mini-meadow which is so much fuller and richer than last year!
I always look forward to your garden talks. The details you provide are very helpful. Picture me watching with a notebook jotting down tips. I love your ducks, are they Indian Runners? Hoping to add a pair here at Vicky's Cottage. You are so right, looking at your garden is like viewing g a beautiful painting. 🌿
Your mini meadow makes me happy. So pretty! Do you have Darwin tulips in UK? I have found them the most reliable for returning year after year. I always plant few patches of doubles, because I love the big full blooms, but the most of the tulips are Darwin because they rebloom for me.
Always love seeing what's happening with your garden, your patio at the back door, with those gorgeous steps, that view I love too. I'm in states, on the shore in Maryland, I checked out ITV, we need a VPN or it's a payed subscription for us. Sorry I don't recognize the daff, Tonya with the flowers just had a huge daff tour on her channel, you might see yours there.?
Thank you so much ☺️ looking forward to the Erigeron flowering on those steps again soon. Thank you for the heads up about VPN and Tonya’s video too - I will look forward to watching that.
Such a beautiful garden…loooove your videos!!! I ve just looked a video from the channel „Apple, Pea, Fern, Sea“ also UK based, and they showed a narcissus variant called „cool flame“ Maybe that’s your as well? It could be that the orange middle is not that bright as cool flame, but it could be also the lighting in both gardens and videos 😊
YES, it's getting going again. I was doing things this weekend in my small garden at front of the house (3x4M). I'm extra optimistic for results this year. I love to watch your youtube channel and see how your garden develops with your successes and things which didn't work. You're rubbing shoulders with some big names in gardening, so you must be pinching yourself. Next stop, you'll be one of the hosts on the Chelsea Flower Show. I wouldn't be surprised.
The garden looks stunning. Most of our daffodils and narcissi have disappeared and can only assume it was either the wet or rodents. The dafs look a little like a type of Pheasants Eye?Do you treat your water barrel with a preservative?
Thank you so much 😊 oh that’s a shame they have disappeared. It sure has been a strange year for bulbs hasn’t it? I’ve not treated the water butts so far but perhaps I should. Would love to keep them going as long as possible
Looks so Stunning. I love Spanish Bluebells, they are more native to our area than the English. I do wish my Fritillarias would take hold...only 8 plants growing out of 200 bulbs! Congrats on being a guest of Alan T. ;I've been watching him for many years, a big fan here.
That’s really nice you can grow them with less of a worry. They are so so beautiful. Fingers crossed the fritillaries multiply over the years. And thank you so much ☺️ very excited.
I planted crocuses- a mixture of them for the first time in my yard after being inspired by a video of yours - so glad that they bloomed and they are so beautiful. None of my other neighbors have any kind of bloom in their landscaping at the moment. Also, after seeing you plant snake 🐍 head plants among daffodils, I may consider growing them, but I never thought I would like them as I am afraid of snakes lol. I have to move to a zone 9A in a year or so, I am a bit sad, but I will enjoy what I can before moving to a hotter area (Vegas).
That’s so beautiful, I’m really pleased they did well! Snakes head is a funny name for them isn’t it? 😂 but they are very lovely little flowers. Hope the move goes well. It sounds like it will be very different. Amazing to have experienced such different climates for gardening.
None of my crocuses came back this year. I thought maybe it was because they were in pots but it’s less disheartening to know that loads more people had the same issue
I have both narcissi and anemone nemorosa in my garden but they like completely different conditons so they are in different parts of the garden. If it is the other beautiful anemones you have I can’t grow them here so maybe that is why your success rate is low. It is a gorgeous garden you have 👌
Love this meadow! And in 2022 I started my own. 😀 curious about the cow parsley. Do you sow seeds? For how long does the cow parsley flower before you mow the lawn? Does it reseed itself or do you need to keep sowing seeds every autumn or spring?

Your garden is an inspiration. We bought a 100yr home, with a very, very, very, unkempt garden. It has what you are doing in your garden. At first a tried to rid the garden of as many bulbs possible. It was sooooo overgrown and overwhelming. Nothing was in order. Just random bulbs anywhere. Every spring I watch your garden trying to tell myself it’s okay. I love them but need some order. Watching you in your garden I think I actually need to add more in spots to create order. It’s literally a madhouse!
Thank you for saying that 💕 Sounds like an amazing journey with your garden! But totally understand that feeling of overwhelm at the start. I can imagine it’s even harder with removing bulbs as they are so hard to find under the soil.
Can’t tell for sure because of the filter/lighting of the video but Are the mystery daffs maybe Barrett Browning? Can’t tell for sure but if they more of a pink center maybe Accent or Pink Charm? Absolutely loveliness all of it!❤
