You are my therapeutic fix. I lost my mom in May and have turned to gardening and so I am fairly new. This will be my first year planting bulbs. Thank you for all your content. I have a new greenhouse that is my escape as well (as I am also my husbands full-time caregiver. (yes, it's been a year lol). Again thank you for your videos. I look forward to them!
I'm sorry for your loss. I really dug deep into gardening after I lost my dad in May of 2020, I am new to this channel but I got into Garden Answer therapeutically.
Daffodil daffodil nothing fails. No squirrel, no doe, no foe prevails. Love the Jonquil for their strength and cheer, brings me happiness year over year!
My husband was inspired by your vegetable garden and made me a lovely (and deer proof !) garden this year. The tulips are most appealing. I've never been able to have them before because of the deer. Thank you, Erin.
Hi there, I'm from Lansing, MI and I just bought my very first and own house (YAY). I'd love to have those Daffodils to start filling up my bare garden. Thank you so much.🌻
I also live in Wisconsin, and watching your channel inspires my gardening and keeps me on track. I especially appreciate how you encourage viewers to strive for what’s doable and enjoyable, rather than aiming for perfection. So refreshing. Love your show and I love alliums!
You are quite an inspiration to me. I have way less yard than you but still have learned so much from you. I really enjoy your approach to gardening. Thank you.
Thank you Erin! The first year in this new house has left me trying to see the bright side of all this negative space. I’d appreciate Longfield’s daffodil collection- those tend to be super tough in our area!
Your garden is transitioning into fall/ winter so gracefully Erin. I am so drawn to the natural and ethereaI beds you have created... a perfect contrast to your more formal and "organized" areas. I really took in all the principles and theories you've laid out. Thanks for inspiring us!
Tough for a gardener to pick one flower, even when it's free...but, a girl can never have too much allium. 😁 Thanks so much for sharing your flower gardens and expertise Erin. You are an inspiration. 🌻
Erin- how wonderful that you’re offering a giveaway! Thank you so much for this generous donation to your subscribers! I am very interested in the daffodils that bloom early! I added a few last year that were mid bloomers, but like you…. The idea of early yellow in e garden sounds like heaven!
I've been planting all three for the last two years. I would love to incorporate more alliums into my flower beds where deer have been a problem. Thank you Erin and Longfield Gardens.
Alliums are other-worldly! I'd love to try them in my garden! Erin, I look forward to your videos; your experience and HUMOR just make my day. Thank you for that.
Alliums, alliums, alliums....Thank you so much for the opportunity. The Serendipity has been so successful I have already divided them twice in 2 years. Last year I splurged a little, I bought Gladiators. July pre order. Big beautiful bulbs. I was so excited. Planted them among orange tulips....Here comes the daffodils then the tulips omg the foliage of the alliums was so big and bold. I can't tell you how invested I was in anticipation for their striking beauty. When the leaves were about 8 in tall the tips started dying...It was weird how exact the die off was.. 2 inches on every bulb, just one leaf and the tip of the leaf started rolling. Time to check. Cut the 2 inch rolled area to inspect. IT WAS AN INSECT! One I have never seen...We immediately cut the foliage and burned it. Bug was an elongated stink bug looking thing...Might have eaten the house...LOL....No blooms on the alliums....I don't know what I did wrong. I would love to try again.
Daffodils are my heroes, and what I'd love more of! Bunnies & critters have left what I have alone. Love all your thoughts on where-to-plant-what, have never heard someone go into that much rationale on the subject. Thanks so much!!
I just moved to a home with an empty canvas of a yard and I am excited to start the foundation of a garden that will grow with me in the years to come. Your videos are so helpful and informative. I like your "loose" approach to a more natural looking landscape. Thank you for all the tips!
Daffodils. We moved this year to a new state and left behind hundreds of bulbs and missed them this spring. Thank you for your videos, even my husband watches.
I love how the area you were showing looks soft like a moving meadow AGAINST the nicely manicured garden areas in the background. So beautiful and well-designed. And Mount Hood is a beautiful daffodil! Have to say I would love the tulip mix. Thank you for sharing your gardening expertise.
I would love to try the Alliums. I have not planted any of these types of bulbs and would welcome them to my garden space with a great big smile. Thank you for your time in teaching us all you know.
Alliums! I also made a new garden this past season, and deer are in my area also so adding these bulbs would be so much fun. Love your frank approach to work/ time/ effort/ rewards in gardening.
Barb The flower Lady here and l love alliums and love all the inspiration shared. I salute the impatient gardener! Always enjoy the knowledge and lessons learned on patience as a fellow gardener. 🙂🌺👍
Tulips! I adore tulips! Bought our first house this year and so we have first year garden beds and I can just imagine a sea of tulips come spring. There's a 100 percent chance I'm going to get belligerent with them.
I planted 25 'Ambassador ' bulbs last Fall. It was one of the best decisions I made. Incredible Impact, and color. This year I am planting more variey of alliums as well. Deer resistant too.
Hi Erin! Great advice in planting bigger impact bulbs further down the property and saving smaller flowers for walkways and such. Tulips have been my favorite flower since I was a kid. Thanks!
I would love the daffodils! I look forward to seeing all the daffodils come up each spring. They are so cheerful and remind me of my daughter who was born in the spring. You have left me inspired to get out there and plant bulbs in the new gardens we created this year! Thank you so much!
Perfect reminder that I have a box of hand-me-down daffodil bulbs in the garage to tuck into my barren garden beds. We moved to a property that hadn’t been lived in since 2002!!! There were no “flower beds” to speak of… just a bunch of grass. Over the last two years we’ve shaped beds where we couldn’t easily mow. I get so excited when my husband says, let’s just make it a plantable area since we can’t now. More canvas for me!!
I’ve never grown any of these bulbs before, perhaps daffodils might do well in my zone 10 climate? You’re such an inspiration. Thank you for sharing your love of gardening!
Here watching this video because I'm quarantined with covid, I plant bulbs late, too. Tulips are my favorite. I like to plant 50 to 200 together. My yard is small but the impact with tulips and all spring bulbs is something I continue every year. Thanks for your channel.
Daffodils! I find your videos so entertaining and informative. Love your sense of humor. I quite like the daffodil varieties you picked to plant. Your choices would do quite well in our wooded lot here in northern Ohio.
I would love the Alliums! I was going to buy some to incorporate into my garden. I enjoy your channel and you have a lot of great information. Spreading joy through your flowers must feel amazing.
Daffodils!!! Definitely! I've tried to plant them for the first time in my life last fall and I am absolutely in love. Going to plant as much as It can this year:)))
I would love the alliums! I have a fledgling garden and need some bulbs to help fill in my beds. Thank you for all the great advice for all of us zone 5 folks!
Oh my GOODNESS, what an opportunity! Alliums are what I would like the most! Thank you for all you do, Erin! I love watching your videos, I've been watching for a very long time and I always learn something new! So thank you, again, for everything!
ALLIUMS! I also need those deer resistant bulbs. 😉 I have many garden borders that I've been renovating as the third owner of this property The first several years we lived in this house were spent hacking back the jungle of overgrown shrubs and trees that had become out of control from a decade of neglect by previous owners. The adjacent woodlands and meadows had grown up to the house, complete with blackberries and poison oak. It has been like an archeological expedition discovering what the original owners before them had developed and installed with what appears to have been a Japanese theme. Occasionally, I uncover a buried tag from 20 years ago with a date and plant name to give me further clues. At last, I have reached the point that I can begin planting my own perennials and bulbs. Thank you for being such an inspiration and much appreciation to Longfield Gardens, too.
DAFFIES - please and thank you !!! Thanks for the offer & opportunity - love your channel and partnering with Longfield (I have bulbs from them!) is a good thing. I too have deer who love to munch on and pull up any tulip I plant. oh my - those grasses - brilliant !!!! so excited to see the garden come spring with all those bulbs blooming !!!!
Thanks so much for your suggestions. Amen on ideal time to plant- in a new garden, but alas that isn't possible most of the time. I would love the Daffodil package to add some variety to my gardens!
This is my first year planting tulips and daffodils. I’m in MN and love seeing those first pops of color in the spring! Decided I should bring that joy to my yard and for the neighbors to be able to enjoy as well. I would love to start some alliums and share some of the bulbs around my community!
LOVE THE MOVEMENT OF YOUR GRASSES!!! Had to rewatch your video because I was so enjoying the grasses playing. About your generous bulb giveaway, thank you by the way, I pick the daffodil package.
Tulips!! 🌷🌷🌷my husbands favorite flower! Love your garden and your videos are always so instructive! My garden is in its infancy but it’s so fun to plan and dream.
I'd love the ALLIUMS!! My biggest challenge is to plant them so that other plants will grow up and cover their less than beautiful foliage after the bloom! Great video, Erin. Thanks!
Erin thank you for collaborating with Longfield Garden to surprise us with a giveaway. Who would not love the happy yellow heads of Daffodils after a long stretch of winter!! So, daffodils for me would make me very happy! Thank you for a ice walk through your garden!
