Tabaxi are as "cat-like" as you want to roleplay. I personally play them as just very hairy humans, because I don't want "cat" to be their primary personality trait. This might be an overreaction on my part, after witnessing another player spending all their time purring, climbing trees, and rubbing against things. I can't even remember their class, because all they cared about was "cat." But tabaxi are a fantasy people like dwarves and elves, and it can get irritating when someone leans into the tropes with those too much. Dwarves can be more than drunk, vengeful, and Scottish. Tabaxi can be more than Cat.
Ye I tend to more or so commonly see tabaxi PC's or npc's look like khajiit's unless they are explicitly explained to either be more or less like a cat, as well the concept of just deciding how cat like the pc or npc is, always intrigued me.
I play Tabaxi as pretty normal people, but my warlock Tabaxi (with a bit of madness when away from civilization) did have an irrational fear of cucumbers, and behaved more cat-like when in this mad state, but in towns, cities and such, he was an absolute gentleman, and quite jovial too. He just became cat with cucumber fear and when not being in a town (and no, travelling didn't count, it mainly counted during dungeons and such)
That last collection of stories is the kind of thing that has me acting out that scene from shrek 2, where he goes "could ya just not be yourself for FIVE MINUTES!?"

As someone with PCOS, I'd tell them to stfu and leave the table because my period is killer but does not "debuff" me, I still go about life like everybody else.
I'm a woman. Have been for a long time. I can tell you that cycles vary *greatly* between women. Some are incapacitated with pain, some get bitchy, some you will never know unless they actively tell you. How we each deal with it can also vary. For me, I am blessed with minimal interruptions to my day and a general lack of pain. If I was to implement it mechanically to a game, I would follow something like what the anime Slayers did. Lina Inverse would lose her magic powers once a month. It could also be a good Werewolf red herring plot device too "Why is this adventurer so withdrawn?" That said, I don't think it would ever need to be brought up, period. (Yes, I know what I did there). A guy trying to RP a woman at her "time of the month" is just ludicrous. It's not like we become completely different creatures at that point. Another "for me personally" is that I get hyper-focused and short tempered for a couple days but I'm also aware of it so I'm careful not to show it. I think that's how most women are - you will never know (except in extreme cases) if something is going on with one of us because we just deal with it.
I just see no need for it to exist in a magical fantasy world. I see no possible use for it in an adventure. Plenty of stuff is already just not a thing becauseof convenience or irrelevance. This should be that.
Some cycles change over time too when I went from cramps then to extremely severe depression during periods then heavy periods (but the depression is gone so worth it😂).
Yeah, my girlfriend is one of those hardly know unless they tell ya. Which is either good in it shows it may not be so painful to her or speaks volumes about her pain tolerance. Not that it would change her mood much I imagine, she always wants to cuddle me or steal my tuxedo cat anyway, lmao
On the red string story: I feel both player are being the problem to some extent. The OP is certainly being petty, but the rogue's behaviour makes it funny even if it's not 100% justified.

This is exactly what I tell people. You're free to say whatever you want to say, but you can't control how people will react to it. Describing necrophilia as 'something dubious' is a master class in understatement. Funny how these male players of female characters never think to actually, you know, ask a woman about any mechanical in-game effect, she might consider monthlies to have. While every woman is going to be a bit different, it would be some guidance, at least. I wonder if he's been called out in the past on not taking menstrual pain seriously and this is his misguided but not ill-intentioned attempt to be genuine about it.
That first story - weird that periods is the first thing That Guy thought of and obsessed over for a woman. The comments are gold - someone asked what would be used to remove Bane of the Menstrual Cycle, and the top reply is "Remove Curse". As a person with periods, absolutely that fits. That last story, though, yiiiiikes. Glad the racist ended up kicked but goddamn, what a QAnon of a statement to go "I can be racist, it's free speech!".
It's always the stupid people who throw around the flag of "it's my right, i have free speech" without actually leaving in the part about "from persecution." Sure, you can say whatever you want without getting arrested, but that doesn't stop someone from punching you in the face or firing you from a job, ect.
Kinda feel the red twine thing depends more on what level of rp is involved by this I mean Rouge sounds like they were just wanting to throw dice , cause rp wise it would be easy to say you insulted my God no heals fer you
RE: that last story regarding "pvp when it was supposed to be disallowed" - I think the bigger issue was that the reason was that the orc claimed "In his tribe besting somebody in a duel means you get to claim them". I mean, if the character was not interested, how is this NOT a situation that would end in rape? Yeah, I think the issue here is that one of the characters wanted to rape another and covered it by claiming it was a "ritual of their people" and not blatant SA. And if you want to get technical and say the "claim" could mean any number of things, name one instance in which a person thinks of that for their background without first going over it with their intended target above board and wouldn't also think that the claim entitles them to sex?
I once played in a 2e campaign and considered playing an Amazon from the fighter’s handbook. The Amazon kit had a special ability that when fighting a man they got a +5 to hit and damage on the first hit because they male underestimated them for being a woman. If you missed, you would keep getting that +5 until you landed your first blow. After that everything was normal. My Dm and other players joked about giving her the traits of a berserker once a month because during that time she would be “Emory, short tempered, and irrational”, but I wouldn’t be able to control when that happened. It would be up the the dm to decide when something angered my character enough to have that happen. Could be in a fight, a social situation, or anything in between. I ended up not playing that character and went with something else, I don’t remember what though.
People need to stop using the Bard class as an excuse for all kinds of misconduct. I have a Teifling Bard in Baldur's Gate and I am beyond reluctant to try and port her over to tabletop D&D because of crap like that.
Story 1: Oh hell to the no dude! I played a female cleric fighter warrior nun character and I NEVER asked that of dear Eris. Story 2: Oh god; WHY! (squints eyes) Story 3: Weird. Awww! Hello Alice. Story 4: Time to nope out of there! Good on you OP. Story 5: Whoa, whoa, whoa! That's a hard nope! At least DM tried to stop it. Story 5a: 1. Dude; not all cat girls need oppai! Although ... my favorite ones do (Lynette Bishop, Hanekawa Tsubasa) but that's besides the point! I would never berate another player characters looks cause they don't have enough oppai (bosom). 2. WHY is is always the kitsune?!?! Good on OP for leaving that group! 3. Oi, you (censored). Good on DM for kicking her! 4. Da hell DM!!!!!
Coulda sworn you used that face in a previous thumbnail, that or maybe Critcrab used it in a thumbnail years back. I honestly can't tell who used it, all I know is I remember seeing that ubersmug before and can't remember where.
2:36 Depends on the woman. Some women have little to no discomfort, and it doesn't have an impact on their lives at all, aside from having to use feminine hygiene products for a few days. Some experience extreme discomfort, even debilitating pain. And though it is often lampooned in various media, some women DO become moody and borderline irrational. So her having a negative to her ability checks isn't really all that unreasonable. But my question is, why in the hell would you want to roleplay that? I don't see a reason to include it at all. I've played female characters and never even thought about it. It's just... weird. I guess I have to give him props for taking his character's physiology into account, I guess. 5:46 That's just creepy and weird. If his wife were there and he made the reference, I guess I could understand a bit, but she wasn't. Still not nearly as bad as wanting to SA a 'living' NPC or PC, but definitely worthy of an objection and a few raised eyebrows. 9:46 Dude insulted his religion, and the cleric found a passive aggressive way to get him back. Sounds legit to me. You don't mock the faith of the person in charge of keeping you alive without expecting some form of retribution. There are religions in fantasy and reality which have done or would do far worse. 13:31 Look, I'm of the belief that people can put what they want in their bodies, and that most recreational substances shouldn't be illegal. But risking the academic future of someone who doesn't partake like that is inexcusable. Do it in your own homes, folks. And for God's sake don't drive anywhere.
I can't help but think of what someone added to a comment I made in either another episode from Doge or Crispy that these people doing these actions? Assaulting people in various and all that? They're thinking these things through. Fantasy or not it's incredibly gross and at least half these people should've been booted like the paladin
Had a guy who wanted his character to be a smoker, and when he didn't get a smoke often enough, he'd have disadvantage on things during his "nic fits" lol wasn't any problem for me, as he'd roll these himself and just let me know, and impose these negatives without me having to say anything
Regarding that second story, I'm sorry, but I'm having serious doubts that was intended to be a "joke." It felt more like he was scrambling for an excuse once he realised his behaviour was extremely inappropriate and made everyone at the table uncomfortable. It wasn't posed like a joke (I can't fathom what the punchline would have been for something like that...), or seemed as if it were intended to be taken as dark humour; he was roleplaying assaulting a corpse and only stopped when people responded negatively to it. Even if he does have an "inside joke" regarding necrophilia with his wife, I'd still go out on a limb to say that more than likely, he just has a necrophilia fetish and was embarrassed for being called out on it.
Story 1: Assuming you don't want to boot the guy for being such a jerk, simply tell him that in this world women don't have menstrual cycles. Story 3: No, you're not the a**hole. You played in character. Your magic has evolved and you can now only heal people who agree to wear Ilmater's symbol (whether a game mechanic or just your character's belief) -- the player had a problem with it because he was meta-gaming. From the sounds of it you got the best result, edgelord quit -- now go enjoy the game with the other players who aren't a**holes. Story 4: Playing stoned, high or drunk is something that needs to be discussed before hand and *everyone* involved be cool with. The DM handled it 100% properly.
No one rational actually gives a damn what gender you and/or your character is. So play female characters if you want. It’s only creepy if you yourself are creepy, in which case it won’t matter even if you’re playing a guy.
Never in 15 years have I had a player be creepy to a female player, I'm not saying it doesn't happen but it seems more prevalent online and in frontal cortex lackning age groups.
To be clear in the Ilmater story the OP was 100% in the right. The rogue player not only insulted gis characters god but also used offensive, bigoted language to do so. OP was justified both in and out of character.
Yeah , nah that cleric in the Red rope is petty dick. Op and the rogue honestly sound like “that guys” , it was very dickish of OP to tie the red rope on him when he was dead.
C'mon, Doge! We REALLY needed some emergency kitties to help us recover from the six d4 psychic damage of the "NecRogue" story!😱🤢😭 Alice's appearance later on was all that kept me from failing my last death save!😳😅❤🐱❤ P.S., as soon the other player killed OP's micro gryphon familiar "for laughs", I would've John Wicked it dead-assed said "I draw my dagger and f🤬king gut this b🤬ch!"🗡
Changing things up, and not letting everyone know the significance at the time you do it especially, isn't great. I don't think it necessarily makes you an a-hole, but it's not exactly a great thing to do. I'd say at least let the players know OOC what you're doing for the sake of roleplay when you decide to do it. That's not to say the other dude _wasn't_ an a-hole, but it's understandable that they would become frustrated.
"I want my female character to have periods because it is realistic female biology!" How about the magic and dragons? Is that realistic for you as well?
On the third story, yes, OP is the a**hole. To be honest storming out then is not even a bad reaction concidering that OP just kill his character to make a point that did not exist before. This kind of players make the game bad for everyone and then blame the rogue for being edgy? But hey... Nice kitty.
Don't know what being a guy has to do with playing an estrogenized character any more than being a lady has anything to do with playing a testosterone'd character. Unless you're sexist or something. Which would be a personal problem, Chief. Hardly a horror story, maybe this is an important aspect of this person discovering that they're trans. What a weird situation to fixate over.
my god, I feel that the horny bard trope is one of the worst tropes in the game. lets stop assuming that bards are sex fiends, it leads to games getting ruined as a result, also I will say as a GM, it's insanely stupid to do drugs and drink before sessions / during sessions. that kills games too!. there is nothing worse then dealing with drunk / stoned out players who suddenly become a liability to the game it's self. have some self control.
Regarding that third story, very BS reason for the cleric to not heal but I can sympathize with their motive. In the end, it does fall to their alignment and whether their religious teachings would humour helping someone who speaks ill words of their conducts. My Twilight Cleric would but not every holy healer is obligated to do so. Both sides were a-holes but it is very obvious who was more so.
I don't think it's all that bs, if you want your character to be healed, don't be a dick to the healer. It's a simple concept and easy to accomplish. A lot of people seem to think in both ttrpgs and mmo's that healer characters are whipping boys required to be on demand heal bots. Yeah, it's a little petty but petty is the perfect response to a whiny little edgelord crying fag to look like a big ol toughy.
Pretty much the moment he threw a slur he solidified himself as the prick imo. Cleric was a bit crappy for the attitude but the rogue was far more in the wrong
There is a saying throughout all gaming mediums, and that saying is, "don't piss off the healer." Granted as a cleric main and someone who often chooses a healer class in games, I usually heal no matter how I feel about a player/character. But if someone crosses a line, I only give one warning, and they will be on their own.
Tabaxi are as "cat-like" as you want to roleplay. I personally play them as just very hairy humans, because I don't want "cat" to be their primary personality trait. Or a midget human.
Now we don't need tabaxi and dwarf lol

Funny how these male players of female characters never think to actually, you know, ask a woman about any mechanical in-game effect, she might consider monthlies to have. While every woman is going to be a bit different, it would be some guidance, at least. I wonder if he's been called out in the past on not taking menstrual pain seriously and this is his misguided but not ill-intentioned attempt to be genuine about it.
Or just don't? A Magic world surely has a way to remove any effects.
Second story, that's a new one for me. I thought that we had heard it all, and there would be nothing that could suprise us anymore, boy were I wrong.
The guy only said it was an inside joke with his wife because they didn't find it funny. He 100% expected a different reaction and lied to recover.
The kitty buys you a like and a subscription. I just can't say no to fluffers.
The Bane of the Menstrual Cycle?
😆😆😆
Was that tabby Alice? You have some nice, and supportive kittens.
I was thinking that the story called "Red Rope" would be about red licorice.
Why?
@@informitas0117 Because Red Rope is a brand of extra long licorice.
That's easily the weirdest part to me, that he said it was the first thing he thought of when making a female character
Thanks 4 all the hard work.
Kinda feel the red twine thing depends more on what level of rp is involved by this I mean Rouge sounds like they were just wanting to throw dice , cause rp wise it would be easy to say you insulted my God no heals fer you
Haha for the coke one I understand the guy bailing, but I would of jumped head frist into that snow. God i miss my 20s.
RE: that last story regarding "pvp when it was supposed to be disallowed" -
I think the bigger issue was that the reason was that the orc claimed "In his tribe besting somebody in a duel means you get to claim them".
I would've potentially said they were a reeeeally mild YTA, if the guy hadn't said a slur beforehand. It was deserved just for that
People need to stop using the Bard class as an excuse for all kinds of misconduct. I have a Teifling Bard in Baldur's Gate and I am beyond reluctant to try and port her over to tabletop D&D because of crap like that.
nice! new content for the work day ❤
Wait, was the first OP read the first story about "player giving maluses to their characters due to period" and wanted to play this rules ?
?
Story 1: Oh hell to the no dude! I played a female cleric fighter warrior nun character and I NEVER asked that of dear Eris.
Story 2: Oh god; WHY! (squints eyes)
Story 3: Weird.
Awww! Hello Alice.
Story 4: Time to nope out of there! Good on you OP.
Story 5: Whoa, whoa, whoa! That's a hard nope! At least DM tried to stop it.
Story 5a:
"good player becomes THAT GUY", from about a year ago on this channel!
13:52 You'd better be kidding.
I often play male characters to avoid creepiness, but i guess its no surprise that it doesnt grant immunity to creepiness
For the first story, I was really wondering "hadn't doge covered this story before?" lol
Wonder if it's the same player.
I also wouldn't blame op for leaving in the coke story... Like why didn't they even offer him any, clearly bad friends
Just a little note about the name of the first Redditor: the pronunciation is Rah-kkon-tee, that means Tales in Italian
Holy shit is that a talking dog
Juju deserve better.
Juju would be a welcome addition to my table.
Agreed. She sounded like an awesome character.
Cheap coombait character.
@@robertwildschwein7207 Maybe, but consider the almond of details give to certain behavior - I will say it's an more roleplay heavy character.
Yay new horror stories!
OK, how did the bard know Hellish rebuke? it's not a bard spell, at least not as per PHB.
Tieflings get it for free
To be clear in the Ilmater story the OP was 100% in the right. The rogue player not only insulted gis characters god but also used offensive, bigoted language to do so. OP was justified both in and out of character.
Yeah , nah that cleric in the Red rope is petty dick. Op and the rogue honestly sound like “that guys” , it was very dickish of OP to tie the red rope on him when he was dead.
OP also just throwing “shade” to justify his actions too , I bet OP is leaving stuff out too
C'mon, Doge!
No kiddeh.😢
I would love to play with juju's player
Changing things up, and not letting everyone know the significance at the time you do it especially, isn't great. I don't think it necessarily makes you an a-hole, but it's not exactly a great thing to do. I'd say at least let the players know OOC what you're doing for the sake of roleplay when you decide to do it. That's not to say the other dude _wasn't_ an a-hole, but it's understandable that they would become frustrated.
About the menstruation story:
I thought i was about the hear the same story for the 2nd time
"This is a short and sweet story.", "sorry for the long post."
They posts are the same length.
What does it all mean.
What the Hell is that title?!
Knowing a bit of the History greeks had with turks calling them middel eastern is realy trying to f arround 😅
"I want my female character to have periods because it is realistic female biology!" How about the magic and dragons? Is that realistic for you as well?
Juju? Have we seen this story on here before?
I prefer Necrophagia
my god, I feel that the horny bard trope is one of the worst tropes in the game. lets stop assuming that bards are sex fiends, it leads to games getting ruined as a result, also I will say as a GM, it's insanely stupid to do drugs and drink before sessions / during sessions. that kills games too!. there is nothing worse then dealing with drunk / stoned out players who suddenly become a liability to the game it's self. have some self control.
I feel for the player, but I can't help but think that I would personally hate the Jojo character.
😻
😊
Am I late?
13:58, cocain D&D... Sounds like a good time to me... 🤷🏿♂️ 😂 🤣 😂 🤣
Given that literally every half race in DnD is half human, maybe we should dub humans as the slutfolk
