So they explained this last season, but it's explained better in the manga. Genya has the ability to temporarily turn into a demon and gain passive regen by consuming demons. His strength and regen get better the stronger the demon he eats. He has special digestive organs and jaw strength that allow for the transformation. In the demon slayer world, this is a rare ability you have to be born with to allow for this. While never outright said, I've always interpreted this ability as a rare genetic mutation. Demons have been around for over 1000 years, so it makes sense that the human body would try to adapt to demons.

Honestly sanemi is such a tsundere man, he just wants genya to stay away from all this even if it means injuring him beyond recovery
Also this is just a personal opinion but maybe the reason why sanemi don't get along with tanjiro is because in his case he had to kill his mother after she got turned into a demon but tanjiro didn't, and is living with nezuko even after she became a demon, maybe that makes his feel more guilty of the decision he took that day

We went from Mitsuri's dance to Obanai's slaughter house . Obanai feels like a pissed off Grandpa in here but Man Sanemi is straight out of a Horror Movie !! Not even Gyutaro was able to scare me in his first appearance the way Sanemi did !! Just with his mere presence, that too without sword and breathing style !!

At least the other Hashiras, while difficult, has purpose in their training and it actually work. Sanemi is just a bad teacher and unprofessional 😂😂😂
Eh, to be fair I do see the intention of his training. It increases stamina and pain resistance, as well as forcing the opponent to act quick and on instinct instead of thinking too much about the next move.
Do you remember that the wound on Genya's face was the wound when he was attacked by his mother who became a demon?
The wound that came when I exchanged the eye-crushing attack by Sanemi was cut to trace the old wound and became a little sad.😢

This episode is my favourite of this season. Obanai is my favourite DS character. His jealousy towards Tanjiro emphasizes that he’s deeply in love with Mitsuri and you can’t blame him. Love or hate him, wait till we see his backstory.

Fun fact: Tanjiro protected two people he really cares that have demon traits (Nezuko and Genya) from Sanemi's beating mode. One thing I want to say is Sanemi is the opposite of Tanjiro as a brother (both of them have only 1 sibling that survived the slaughter of a demon but kept the genuine good humanity with their demon traits) the way I see , Tanjiro decided to keep Nezuko closer to him to protect her from potential danger no matter where he goes as for Sanemi he decided to stay away from Genya to protect him I believe he never wanted his brother to be demon slayer corp because that will put his life on the line that makes him more frustrated but he deeply cares about Genya he wants his bro to have a better life somewhere else but what Tanjiro factually said he has no right to force his brother what to choose on what he wants to be even if doesn't have the talent (he has talent just not breathing techniques like most Demon slayer characters)
and by "having no talent" it's very obvious that Sanemi meant breathing styles and not whatever gunning and demonic abilities Genya has or his physical prowess either. it's his way of saying "you're useless, quickly leave the corps". he's a tsundere typa brother, you can't expect every brothers to be like tanjiro or rengoku. Genya is the only one Sanemi has left and he doesn't want to lose him, that's fucking all. if he has to be harsh on his brother to make him understand that, then so be it -Sanemi's thinking.

Even if he's afraid to loose his brother (which is fully understandable after what he went through) of the hands of a demon he has to accept his choice.
Yeah he can keep his distance from Genya that's fine but has no right to brutalize him no surprise they are both prohibited to approach from each other after the obvious conflict that Sanemi started Tanjiro also prohibited to approach Sanemi despite he did the right thing to defend Genya

sanemi is one of my favorite characters in kny, because I love his development and his character is very interesting. I’ve been waiting for this scene with the shinazugawa brothers to get animated, and to hear what other people think about it. I think sanemi is a complicated character. I really felt bad for genya in this episode, and when I read this a while back in the manga. I think that sanemi struggles to express his emotions, and he obviously deals with a lot of self hatred. I can’t wait to see your reactions to certain scenes in the next season, it’s gonna be interesting! anyway, obanai being jealous of tanjiro was funny and cute 😂 he really was like "don’t talk to my girl".

I actually quite enjoy how the anime decided to portray the current half of the "training" of the Hashira Training arc; when it came to Uzui's, Tokito's, & Mitsuri's training, the manga only showed Tanjiro quite literally breezing quite through them quickly for all 3. So I am glad that the anime decided to portray them a bit more
(SPOILER WARNING) As a manga reader, I can say Sanemi loves Genya unconditionally. He's just harsh on him because he knows the big fight is coming up and doesn't want Genya to risk his life. That's why he went as far as harming him because he wanted him out of there ASAP. He's mainly in the demon slayer corps to protect Genya, but how can he do that whenever Genya is also in the corps? That's why he suggested that he quit. I just wanted to clear stuff up because I've been seeing a lot of Sanemi hate lol.

When san san sanemi hit zenitsu in the neck he used Che blocking. Che blocking is when you use your hands or any other weapon to paralyze or put to sleep your opponent by hitting their muscles in this case, that’s what sanemi did to zenitsu by hitting his neck muscle
