The other thing is that the value on jump combos is graded so stupidly. Any combination is basically additive. That's saying the value of a triple loop on the end of a triple lutz has the same value as a triple toe on the end of a triple lutz. A triple loop is WAY WAY harder but it's not being given any reward. Similarly the first jump difficulty isn't being factored in. A triple toe triple toe the back half has the same additive value as the triple toe on the end of a quad toe

it’s really subjective though, because for some skaters one jump could be easier than another, so like toe combos could be harder for them

ISU wants to lower the standard for other skaters to reach.

What if the way to keep skating interesting is developing artistry instead of jumping from side to side of the rink? There's a reason why Yuzuru is so loved by everyone and it has little to do with his jumps

there should be progress and growth in sport, but we’ve seen the damage the “quad revolution” has done. almost nobody can hold a proper edge anymore. it’s just bad crossovers and jumps. progress at the expense of quality isn’t real progress. it needs to be nurtured. little pre-pubescent girls forcing out prerotated and underrotated “quads” has destroyed the sport almost as much as the constant rigged judging scandals.

Lmao, no you’re mixing up everything. So you know why « prepubescent girls » NEED ultra Cs in order to stay competitive ? Because if you can do a quad and you don’t do it, another girl will take that opportunity and risk and will steal your spot let’s say on the national team, and Europeans, and Worlds, and Olympics.
Do you know why Mao does a triple axel and a quad toe ?? Because she’s smart enough to know that’s it’s way more than sufficient to win in the absence of Russians, but once they will come back, she will face a harsh competition, and that a perfect program with light content, like Jia, will never allow her to rival them.
« Prepubescent girls » as you call them, are way less likely to develop injuries than if they had to learn ultra Cs later, when their body and technique is fully grown and that their consistency will decrease (and the injury risk, increase). But at the moment, if competition is so harsh in Russia that you can’t hope for a spot at intl comp without ultra Cs, it’s because ISU, with sexist and country based quotas are reducing the chances of each girl to make it in intl comps. It’s easy to say what you state if you compete in Belgium. 3 : it’s the number of skaters at the Belgium nationals, because no other skater reaches the required tech minimum. Loena didn’t even bothered to compete since the three of them had already an assigned spot at Europeans. Do you think Russians have this luxury ? For 3 Belgian skaters, you have dozens and dozens of Russians skaters. And the bottleneck that are the quotas, in an ideal situation for Russia, are the exact same for the two countries. Russian skaters have to sacrifice way more than anyone else to get the same opportunity to compete internationally. And by « sacrifice », yeah it can mean more stacked program with higher value jumps in exchange of less transitions and choreography, because these jumps are harder to execute. But such a program will still earn them more than a program with easier jumps and better transitions, but that will give them no chance. Sport is about risk taking. Why would men be allowed to take as much risk as they want (sacrificing artistry in the process, because excuse me but a backflip is everything but artistic), while girls should content themselves of smiling and being pretty, without innovating ? That’s what the current rules are imposing, and that’s what Mao is complaining about.
So if ISU, and fans, cared that much about these « prepubescent girls » health, they would start by readmitting russian skaters, allowing more quotas so the domestic competition is way less tense and dense, and then maybe you will start to see Russians with other jumps than quads, and more different styles and skating skills. And their international career would be longer. In any case, ISU (and fans who support their weakly thought rules) are the ones who made the situation as it is now. So you can only blame yourself.
If you don’t know how competitive skating works in Russia I suggest you to not comment on this topic, please.

But ladies had tech issues before the quad revolution starts , Tara lipinski, Sarah Hughes, Michelle, Sasha, Irina , Shizuka, Mao , Evgenia, Keatlyn, Adelina, Ashley, Julia, Satoko , Mai , Kaori ,even Aliona non of them had quads

@@Niloufar1992 Honestly Aliona's technique is close to perfect.. besides, she had triple axels, so that's the same as quads in term of difficulty. And just so you know, there are WAY more ladies with incorrect technique than ladies with correct technique. Skaters with the Empress, Yuzuru or Yuna's technique are unicorns in the figure skating world

@@mashaaa000 I know that was my point too , it was always difficult to find a textbook skater among ladies, about Aliona ,she was such a queen , she didn't need quads, she had grace and amazing ss and artistry, I didn't mean to put her down at all , she is doing great in pairs too

@@Niloufar1992 Yeah, but don't forget that Aliona was technically part of those ultra C jumpers since she did 3 triple axels per competition 😉

This is false logic. People of course can only do forbidden stuff in gala shows or after the competition programme. It has nothing to do with revolts, otherwise they would have done it in competition. It's just like you won't check your phones for videos or read other novels in proper classroom until the class is over and you have your break time, and grownups in a serious work environments don't do personal social media stuff on their work electronic devices, sometimes the devices are simply locked for that sort of nonsense. Grow up!

It has totally something to do with not accepting unfair restricting and poorly thought rules as they are 🤡
