Bionicle made my childhood and will always be in my heart
A+ man. No joke, Lego commercials really did stand out, but it's completely true that bionicle just took that concept and ran with it. Every commercial was dark, steeped in mystery, and told you something about the world, as opposed to what the toys could do. And yes, they ALWAYS had some air of terror about them:
"When legends were young, one word was never spoken, for fear it that the legend was true. That word... was Bohrok." and then the close. "Beware. If you wake one, you wake them all..." [pans back to see 300+ canisters of bohrok]
And let's not forget the Vahki's tagline that sounded more like a threat if you didn't buy them all that instant: "Surrender or run."
Having just watched all of inhumanoids, seeing that pop up briefly made me laugh hysterically

Being just a handful of years older than Diamondbolt, I always find some refreshing humor in his takes on things that were just a couple years too late for me. and yet, it seems like nothing has really changed lmao. in this video's case, seems like children's toy ads have been the same since the 80s
I know that these aren't toy commercials, but the trailers for the Cybertron games still get me incredibly hyped. Both those and the original Bionicle commercials give me so much nostalgia that I still get chills whenever I go back to watch them. Also the Piraka rap will forever be legendary to me.
Now I'm thinking back to the Fall of Cybertron announcement trailer, I still play the song from the trailer whenever I get the chance lmao
I love how little toy commercials have changed over the years. They still got that 90s spirit.
this reminded me of this one star wars commerical where kylo ren says in a super processed voice ''you know what ive come for.'' still makes me laugh.

I remember when I was really young, I actually thought that the people in the Lego commercials were actually building the sets extremely fast. Idk how or when I found out that it was just sped up footage, but I'm pretty sure learning how it worked is what got young me into making videos and stuff lol

Turns out they actually took it apart, section by section, then played it back it reverse sped up.
The footage used in the commercials were actually slowed down because the everyone on camera built too fast
I remember thinking that those stop-motion Lego skits with the pizza delivery etc were made by loosening the figures' joints and tilting the set. Once I learned the truth I began to make my own , of course.

That Piraka rap sounded familiar to me, and then I realized that was the song that Diamondbolt’s Minecraft parody song was based of of! I didn’t know it was based off of Bionicle, but I guess it makes sense with Diamondbolt. I think he’s pretty cool.

7:06: Where I live, People used to do that on literally the streets with one another but with custom made ones instead. Sometimes with actual Beyblades as well.
Me and my buddies in Elementary school held whole tournaments during recess (I had L-Drago so I won every time cause it's hard to lose with a left spinning Beyblade) We even had a ranking system with points it was pretty impressive for a bunch of 5th graders.

To me, the most prominent ones I got to experience were obviously the Lego City commercials, but they never got old for me.
I always expected to see and hear the iconic "Hey!" every time one of these commercials occurred.

There was always that one kid that would say a swear word into the display voice lightsabers, and you could never change it if you bought it.
i literally just got done watching like 16 of your videos
06:49 honestly the Beyblade commercial thing kinda happened at my schools (grade two to four, nine year olds are batshit, thought not to the extent of tournaments, but multiple groups would gather, there were gangs and leagues and allies, the marble bunch had an alliance with the beybladers and the pebble target guys but they are in grave conflict with the climbers and the stuffed toy people!), it was just not only Beyblades, but different games of marble and some weird small rubber figurines you threw at people (???) Small target practice where you have a bunch of small figurines in a line and threw pebbles at them, whoever downed the most won. Those are just a few of the games, and nobody was truly exclusive, it was just in what you owned, what a friend or ally would be willing to borrow or trade or what the school provided.
There's also the fact that a lot of other stuff like (school provided) boardgames, sports, wordplays, bets, ballgames, the common games needing only some gravel and two legs (stuff you'd play by drawing in the gravel to make fields of different kinds) were played as much, with broad overlap, it was a question of maining rather than exclusivity
There were also those that brought plushies in, thought those mostly hung out with eachother.
Same with the bookmark/card game/collectors guys, those mostly sat in a corner and traded and bragged
God this unleashed a lot of nostalgia

Kind of reminds me of when I made paper versions of Optimus prime where I would make one and then when I made another one,I would make the new one "ice"(kill) the previous one every time
