Those older Briggs Quantum engines are quite nice. But when it comes to taking apart the air filter housing, the priming system is a pain to get back together again if you cleaned the carburetor. Something dealing with the seal around the gasket. If not done correctly once re-assembling it, the priming system won't work that well. My uncle always told me that when he worked on small engines way back then.
It’s really sad how some people just don’t take care of their equipment & how they don’t store it away after using it. I guess that’s why there are so many old mowers in the scrap yards.
@@geraldschilli8870 True. I enjoy getting them to run again. I have my own so i take these and get them running, clean them up and give them away with a list of parts they need.
Me personally I would use the lawnmower the way it looks I put duct tape on the rust holes and clean the rest of the deck and use it till it’s not safe to use it anymore I love free lawnmowers I found one yesterday I fix already
@@scottdunn4506 I agree, I love picking free mowers up and getting them running. I usually give them away to someone who really needs it. Hate seeing them sit and rot.

@@JosephLarosa-u8u Just goes to show that looks can be deceiving. I enjoyed working on it.

Very true. I rain into that issue on 2 abandoned mowers I picked up.
