The newer PS5 consoles are different inside to the one shown here and a lot more fiddly to install the ssd. I have done one the same as this and this version is a lot easier as the spacer fits in the hole but on the newer models they don’t they just sit on the hole so it’s harder fitting the small screw without it moving.

Thanks for sharing this. Didn't know the inside is different from the 1st model.

Hello. This one should work for PS5 in terms of speed and heatsink that Sony requires. There are several similar SSD model from Samsung. Maybe the one you bought is one of them. This is the one that I bought.

@@hello_dot I also bought a samsung 980 pro I mounted it a few days ago, the production date shows March 27, 2023, is it already equipped with the new firmware? the new firmware came out in February. I'm asking because I'm afraid of losing games as well as the ssd

@@giuseppe3372 No worries at all. So the firmware that you are referring to is PS5 firmware right? No matter when you bought this, it should be fine. You can see how I was moving to all the games to new Samsung SSD in the video. But once you install the SSD, PS5 will detect and it will prompt you to format. And then you can move all the games to the new SSD that you’ve installed. You can check my video or also you can check Sony guide as well.

@@hello_dot No I was referring to the firmware of the ssd because there was a firmware that made the ssd die
