Great explanation of balanced v unbalanced connections, very possibly the best I’ve ever heard. Most of us don’t have the balanced option, so i’d simply add it’s important to get RCA cables with decent shielding for longer runs
Hi thanks for this video i have a question how can i send the direct line out from a jbl eon one compact (o have read it is balanced sígnal) to a subwoofer with rca inputs ?
Would using a 2 male (+ and -) into a male XLR plug give you a balanced signal? And would running my signal out of the XLR input plug on subwoofer to my input connections on my other amp, 2 male RCA, be a balanced connection? I can use one XLR (input) for the incoming signal to sub and the other XLR plug (input) as the outgoing signal to other amp, right? Thanks.
Hello, I have a problem that I simply cannot figure out. I have an Apollo arrow audio interface that I use for my mixes. I have two krk 8 gen 3 and a krk 10s subwoofer. I tried using 1/4 ts cables to connect to my subs 1/4 balanced input and it blew the sub. I got my subwoofer fixed but really do not want to blow it again. Should I buy 1/4 trs to xlr cables and plug them into my 10s then connect xlrs from my 10s to my monitors or is there something else I am missing. All I have to go off of is to think it was using ts cables that blew my sub the first time and have since been looking for a way to connect everything safely. Thank you for your content and I would greatly appreciate the help on this situation.
My subwoofer XLR input has a switch which toggles between 2 attenuation : 24 dB and 14 dB. I'm running a signal from my pre-amp into this active subwoofer. What settings should I use for the input attenuation?
hello, I was wondering if you could help me with a problem. i have two equal subwoofers, both of which are active. I have them connected to a receiver with RCA and I Y splitter because I only have 1 sub out on the receiver. my problem is that the subwoofers play differently. they have a different frequency response which makes them play unequal. today I tried Balanced XLR because I thought that Balanced meant passing one signal from one subwoofer to the other, instead of having both subwoofers responding to the same signal differently, which is what is happening in my setup. I just want them to play equal. hope you can help me understand it better. 👍

Agreed and thank you for the support!

Where do I get a blueteeth cable that's what mine says to use.

I know, it was too late to change it. I had already posted it. Damn typos!
