Greg, you hit 'em all! It's one of my all time favorites, and am going to pick it up. It'll take awhile, but so worth it, because it'll draw people to it like your playing did me. Thanks for sharing this; this song deserves to be played the right way for everyone to enjoy..
@@bobemrc Thanks for listening, Bob. Indeed, a great song like this needs to be shared, especially when stripped back to expose the beauty of the melody and chording ☺️
Greg, the piano makes this come to life again. A serenade almost. And you win the grammy! Much support to a sixties bard not unlike me, i thought you hit a home run
Thanks for the feedback Barney. Glad you enjoyed it. I strive with most of my arrangements to keep them clean and respectful of the original without overplaying ☺️

So well done. Enjoy this very much, like the others. Very nicely put across. The syncopation gets me, as well as the way the ascention of the scale execution, it unfolds emotionally just right.
I've heard a few unaccompanied snippets of this played by Jimmy Webb in a few video interviews on the internet but this is the first time I've heard the entire song in a 'stripped down' version and I have to say that the purity of your performance is magical. Although Glen Campbell did this song great justice in his interpretation, this takes the composition to another level entirely.
I am a lineman for the county And I drive the main road Searchin' in the sun for another overload I hear you singin' in the wire I can hear you through the whine And the Wichita lineman is still on the line I know I need a small vacation But it don't look like rain And if it snows, that stretch down south won't ever stand the strain And I need you more than want you And I want you for all time And the Wichita lineman is still on the line And I need you more than want you And I want you for all time And the Wichita lineman is still on the line
Absolutely perfect. I want to buy the sheet music but I'm afraid it's too advanced for me. I wonder how it still work with a left active left hand? Just playing a chord/root notes for each bar or similar?
Thanks for watching James! Sorry it's a little complicated. I'm just playing by ear, and rarely the same way twice. But when I'm transcribing, I try to be faithful to the video I provide so people know they're getting it note for note the same. But for sure this song will sound great with the left hand just playing octaves - not always on the root note; sometimes it's the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th - whatever the bass line is in the original song. Then when you get comfortable with that, you could add some other notes in the left hand to form fuller chords and accentuate those notes of the chord that give each chord that unique sound. If you're a chord guy like me, I can help you out with the names of the chords I'm using. Good luck! 🙂
Thanks Sally ☺️ I don’t have the sheet music yet, sorry. I transcribe my arrangements manually and it’s really time consuming one note at a time, so I typically wait until there is a lot of interest. Perhaps this one will come to the front of the queue soon 😉
@@gregtricker-reissig7301 No worries, that's totally understandable. Well there is definitely plenty of interest from me! If you do get chance please do let me know :)

First time I heard the song played on the piano. Great job Greg. In my opinion one of the greatest songs ever written Wichita Lineman. 👍👍
Thanks for listening. It is indeed a great song - like most of Jimmy Webb's.
