If you look up "Ending song Parasite 564", there are articles that show that the director wanted to name it '564 Years' because that's how long it would take the son to get the amount of money to purchase that house on an minimum wage salary. So the movie could have an optimistic ending, but it's more realistically depressing.

Idk if Sumito missed this, but Parasite doesn't really "end" in the last shot of him writing to his father. The credits song (which is in korean, called "Soju One Glass" or "A Glass of Soju") is basically the son singing about how he keeps on working day and night to buy the house he still couldn't afford. Bong Joon-Ho actually calculated the time it would realistically take for him to buy the house - it would take him 564 years. No matter how much he'll work his ass off, his dad's gonna die alone in that basement.
After watching the episodes of in the field with Summito, I thought those recordings were just chill guided conversation, it’s brings me so much joy to see that even outside of recording the talks are just as chill, interesting, and fun . Keep on keeping on guys.

Absolutely did not expect this to be so casual, got a little concerned when I saw the length of the video, and then I clicked play. This was so cozy, I almost felt as if I have friends and a social life. Ceo's get out on a severance package with more money than most peoples entire family will ever see in their entire lifetime, the only people anyone should feel bad for in that situation are the devs who collectively make less in a year than the CEO does, they have to churn out garbage because a bunch of suits decided that they didn't like fun game design over appealing to the lowest common denominator.
Like if you told me "hey, you could either sit in a hot swety room all day, have no severance package waiting for you if our game flops and we will refuse to cut the pays of higher ups even though they do nothing." or "hey you can sit in a top floor office all day and SOMETIMES you'll have to attend meetings, your assisstant will do the rest and if you lose your job then you'll be set for life with a single paycheck" I think that second one might be more fun.

I literally went to a charter school and i related to that story so much.
Teachers were assholes. We had a music teacher that spent a day teaching us how to know when you're breathing. It was an hour class and this man got paid for teaching kids how to breathe.
Needless to say he wasn't there the next year.
