(Kim) After about 10 hours on the road, the first thing we did when we arrived on location was to check on photopills to plan our shoot. We figured that the moon would be too big & too high in the sky right after blue hour. That means it would cast too much ambient light for us to be able to create with the holosquare right after ou usual prime time. With an average exposure time of 6 seconds when using this tool, we need to create in a very dark environment. That meant we would have to wait a few hours for the moon to set to be able to shoot in the dark. While we were there, we decided to do it all. Sunset dance, blue hour, short nap, moonset & Holosquare. This would set the tone for the rest of our creative trip.
(Eric) That was a brutal first experience using the holosquares outdoors in the water. The waves were strong, the bottom of the lake was unstable, and I couldn’t move very fast behind Kim as I was too deep in the water. Out of 60 images, only one turned out to be decent. Not very sharp, but close enough.
And in a totally unexpected twist, we found that perfect place just a few weeks later. Right when we were not looking for it, this calm and warm place appeared in front of us. We spent a few nights there practicing this art form. This is what we ended up creating, which is way more inline with what I had in mind.

I'm in shock
10 hours by car...
a whole night of posing and shooting
How not to be in awe
otherwise for the Lady, a sports mat foam, cut to the size of the box, to avoid pain
Otherwise a simple cotton towel will also fold that must do it, right?
Thank you very much for your sharing
