I am utterly new to Cad, and I opted to go with FreeCAD because I am unable to afford the costs of other Cad products. In the last week I have learned so much from your channel. Even your German language tutorials. I find that even though I don't speak German, your tutorials are easy to follow. Many thanks for the time that you give in helping people like me. I look forwards to more tutorials (in English if possible? ) from you.
This seems to be a nice video A few people will have a problem. Some people have poor eye sight and can not follow the small fast moving pointer. Is it possible to make the pointer bigger. This will help us a lot. Thank You
I will take care of this problem in my upcoming videos, especially those who are targeted at beginners. Thank you ver much for your comment and participating in my Community
Finally I understood the difference between the two ways to create an arc. I only abused the center point arc when I should have used an endpoint arc. Thank you
I tended to agree with the person who claimed that it was easier to draw 2d in autocad than to sketch ONLY because it's different and we may be new to it. Personally I came to freecad from the same direction having had years experience with autocad and becoming comfortable with it. I started using freecad about a week ago and with practice I've found that my comfort level with using freecad grows with each passing day. Yes, it's different, but it's a perfectly fine way of doing the work.
Hi, My native language is not English, and normally I have immense difficulty "listening" to youtube videos, almost 100% of the time I need to turn on the subtitles to follow. Your videos, in addition to being absolutely excellent on the FreeCad subject, have a clarity of explanation, a remarkable objectivity in separating what is relevant from the rest, and, like a kind of "cherry on the cake", are perfectly understandable without need to activate subtitles. I have no words to thank you and no compliment can be exaggerated. A great work, to be shared, reviewed. I wish the channel a long life, and that the reward for a job so well done is fair. Thank you very much
Good stuff - picked up a few more sketcher tips with this video. Thanks for your videos.....wish there were more of them.....or wish I spoke German and then I could watch your other channel !!!🤣
Long term goal is to have both channels with equal number of videos. I’ll try my best, my international community is Very important for me ! 💪🏼 it’s just easier for me to record the German videos :) thanks for your positive feedback
@@FreeCADAcademy Do you refrain from using the sketcher keyboard shortcuts on purpose (to show the viewer where the buttons are), or don't you use them in your workflow? The only shortcut key you used here was E for the equality constraint.
I try not to use too many shortcuts on Video to make it clearer how the commands work and where to find them in the toolbar. I use them more when I’m not recording.
Brilliant! Thank you. I'm new to FreeCad. Jumped ship from Fusion 360 after the changes to licence. Learnt more in 5 mins here than any other tutorial so far. Wish all tutorials were speed ones like this. You can always pause and rewind if you miss something. Some tutorials are so slow and bloated you lose the will to live before they get to the good stuff. More please..... Also just discovered that captions can be auto translated so I can watch your German videos too. Not sure how good the translations will be but I'm going to give it a go. Two subscriptions from me!!
THANK YOU FOR THESE VIDEOS. I am happily getting familiar with FreeCAD. Please excuse my pedantic correction in this otherwise excellent video. At 2:58 you defined the larger radius as 40mm, but according to the drawing in should be 35 + 7 = 42mm. I am only putting this here in case anyone else is confused by this. Not a big deal, and doesn't change the point of the video: sketching in FreeCAD can be fast and easy! 😀
This is one of the best shorts I have seen. So much information in a short video. Interestingly, I have not been using the same button to define lengths so I need to address that! Thank you!
Hello Flowwie, i am since a longer tiime on yout german channel (I am from Germany). Now i made a Abo to your englisch channel. The videos are pretty good too an very interesting like in your german channel!
Hi! Thank you very much for also following my activities on the English Channel. It’s not easy for me to create English content as well but I am trying as much as I can! Thank you for the subscription!!
New to FreeCAD this week. Came from Rhino 3D. Excellent video. Thank you so much for your time and effort to create English tutorials. Mein Deutsch ist nicht sehr gut! ;-) Fröhliche Weihnachten!
Another great demo to practice . Thanks. I love your channel. I have a question: How many hours of practice would you guess it would take for a beginner like me to attain such proficiency ?
Thank you. That was quick and easy. I had an issue with a slot on one of my experiments a couple of days ago. I solved it by using circles and joining them with lines then using "Trim" to remove the unwanted lines. Now that I have seen how you make the slot that is on an angle it makes shows an easier approach. I have used Freecad for about 5 months now and I am still learning things.

English channel is about to receive a large amount of videos in the near future. Thanks for your support and best regards!
the second arc you drew at 40mm, shouldn't that have been 42mm? since it is 7mm addition to the 35mm inner arc?

Most useful freecad i've watched in a long time. Thank you very much.
I'm very happy to hear that. Thank you!

You make it look too easy. How long have you been using FreeCAD?
4 years FreeCAD, 12 Years CAD (Siemens NX, Catia, Solid Edge, Onshape etc.) in general.

Very nice! Clean and easy.
Nicely done!
Thank you, Joel!
I did not know the trim in sketcher. Thanks for sharing.
thanks for the advice! I will introduce this and many other sketcher tools in my upcoming basics series!!
I think if you gave it a proper try ,you could have made it take 15 minutes
You are good and definitely make it look easy!
Well done. Perfect.
Thanks a lot, Stefan!
Nice!
