    I don't care what these other salts say; going out to sea is great. Even the boring time at sea, I still wouldn't give that up for the world; sunsets, full moons shining over the sea, islands in the distance.
    Sure, it is tough, but it is rewarding.

    Dear IMOHQ,
    In view of different log books, safety checklists, daily reports, pre-arrival forms etc. may say that boring paperworks on board much more than on shore. So your goodwill cartoon does not reflects the realities.

    Missing: dull ocean-passage watch if you're deck; alarms going off in the dead of night if you're engine.

    My dream was to become a captain, so I wanted to study the career of maritime enginyeri at the university of Barcelona, but I was not good enough at maths, so I didn't have enough grades to enter to this studies. I am still young, don't wich ways I could take, I am already regreeting

      because this video is unrealistic. like any other job, this one has great days but also bad ones. only difference between being a seaman and working ''boring'' land job is that after a bad day on land you can hug your family and on sea you can hug your pillow.
      for me being a seaman is amazing, but it requires a lot of sacrifice to spend half of your life away from your loved ones.

    • @wesley8096
      @wesley8096 9 лет назад

      sekycar Yeah but if you're trying to get people to go and be a sailor, you're obviously not going to point the reasons why you shouldn't. If I'm trying to sell you a car, then I'm not going into details about that options that it doesn't have. However I do agree with you that this video looks more like a children's cartoon than an inspiring video..

    How silly do you present it.. what about autonomous ship while peaple will lose their jobs and peaple who are now working at sea .so dont try to attract more peaple to the trap.. The see is already full of COC holders and owners are happy for that couse they can get cheep officers could be for 500 dollars a months and at sea only without leave pay. Away of every thing, onboard a ship for more than 6 months, most of the time there is no shore leave as you show on your video to attract more peaple to sea so owners can find more cheep seamans . Why IMO is Interesting more to support owners more than seafareres. Is it becouse owners support IMO in some how, I Don't know! .. it a very bad job my friends
