    Dude, your content is amazing !
    I discovered Airtable few days ago. It clearly fits muuuuuch better for my uses than Notion.
    Thanks a lot for your amazing work !

    Really cool use cases and explanation. Thank you a lot!
    The only difficulty is figuring out which pricing plan is suitable for sending automated emails to customer addresses (outside my organization)

      Great feedback - we'll have to do an update for this in a new video where we analyze pricing plans as well!

    First thank you. Your videos are better than the others out there. I watched them all it seems, and you are the best I ve found..
    Question: If I wanted to have a reminder email about a monthly payment automated, for a specific number of months, is that possible? I want to make sure before I venture down that road. As always thank you!

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  3 года назад

      Definitely! You can schedule your automation to trigger on a specific day of the month, and then modify the number of total emails that will be sent! 🙌

    Hi, thanks for that content I was wondering if you can use a specific template that already existe in gmail. Thanks

      Hi Dom, I don't think you can use a pre-existing template, but you can copy/paste the email into the automation!

    Thanks for your great videos. Why dont you use MS Outlook for automations, I need to automate sendign emails with excel attachments from selected records that are created using data stored in airtable database.

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching! We don't use MS Outlook here at GAP Consulting, but we use Gmail instead. For this reason, I can't demonstrate how MS Outlook works, but rest assured it follows the same steps as the Gmail automation! Hope this helps 🙏

    Gareth - Thanks again for the video. I watched it again today, and have this question: If I can do email marketing by the methods that you provide in this video, are there any reasons that I can still opt for Mailchimp???

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  2 года назад

      The biggest reason is that Airtable discourages email marketing through their platform and there could be consequences to using Airtable in that way. Specifically, the automated emails aren't GDPR compliant due to the fact that there are not unsubscribe links in the email body

    Great tutorial, Gareth! Quick question. What's the best way set the automation to only trigger the email during business hours?

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  2 года назад

      I'd suggest altering the trigger to only activate during times you allow. For example, if you use a formula as a watched trigger field, you can build the formula to only green-light an email during business hours.

    Man, I don't know why I think think too much about the email automation, but these videos just saved me about 8 hours over the next two months 🤯
    Any downside that I'm not thinking of to deliver lead magnets in this way?

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  3 года назад +2

      Hey Kyle! Thanks for watching! You can deliver lead magnets in this way, although my biggest struggle in working with multiple email service providers is in making sure that the information is consistent across the platforms. For example, if you send lead magnets through Airtable automation, but you also add people to your broadcast/newsletter list in ConvertKit, how will you make sure that someone unsubscribing from one list removes them from ALL your lists? Your personal email (which is how you often send via Airtable automation) doesn't know that person unsubbed 🤷‍♂️

    Hi there ! Can you send the email at a specific hour.... ?
    Also, Can you track open raté ?
    Thanks a lot for your great vidéos

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  2 года назад +1

      Hi!
      1. Yes, you can send email at a specific hour by building that condition into your automation trigger. Either use a formula field that specifies the time, or use a scheduler trigger with time.
      2. No, we can't track open rate from Airtable - I believe you'll need some third-party tools for that.

      Yes and no. Sending email from Gmail and Outlook is currently available for "pro" or better tiers. All tiers can send email through Airtable's email though!

    My scenario: Needing to send an automated email if a form is submitted past the deadline. For context, form submission deadline is at noon. If a form is submitted at 12:15pm or later, an automated email will send out to the individual who submitted the form that their submission is late.

    Brilliant support in getting started with Airtable Gareth! Quick question, I included the prefilled form link into an automated email and the prefilled fields are not showing up when clicking the link. Any idea why?

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  2 года назад

      I'd suggest first testing the link to confirm that the prefill is operating properly. My guess is that there's an issue with your prefill formula that's not allowing the link to prefill. The most common error would be illegal characters in your URL (like a SPACE, for example).

    Hi, I'm using the free air version, I do the 1st method as you show, I can only list specific emails instead of automatically selecting the whole Email field. Please tell me, does the free version use automatic mailing?

    Hi Gareth! I’m a big fan of all your videos! I was wondering. Is it posible to built a form that create two records in two tables? Ex. I own a shop, I have (among others) one table of clients and one table of orders. Today I use a third party form generator + zapier (two steps zap) + airtable. Can I skip step 1 and 2 and do it all in Airtable?

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  3 года назад

      An Airtable form will only have one possible action when submitted. Namely, it creates on record in one table. You CAN build an automation that then takes this record and creates two new records in two different tables. But most of the time, when working with clients, we build the process that you described (less messy)

  • @IsobelHoward-r9u

    Hi Gareth, do you have any advice for the scenario in which I want to send update emails to people when the status of their record/project/submission changes, as you did in the video above, but the number of people exceeds 100 in a day? Airtable has a limit where you can only send 100 unique emails a day. I have looked into SendGrid as an extension, and also mailchimp via zapier. However, we don't have the capital to start using zapier just yet.

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  Год назад

      Airtable has a limit if you're sending emails from Airtable, but if you use your Gmail or Outlook account the limit is waived 💪

    Hi Gareth, is it possible to include company logo, inform of image, in the above mentioned email automation?

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  3 года назад

      Hi David, great question! You can include some rich text formatting using Markdown, but if you want to use HTML to inlcude images such as logo, you're better served by building this automation inside of an automation tool like Zapier or Integromat. The rules and setup are the same, but unfortunately Airtable doesn't allow for HTML in the email quite yet.

    Thanks Gareth, we use Outlook and I am struggling to make any emails sent look pretty. Creating a signature seems really clunky which offsets the benefits of automation. Any suggestions? John

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  2 года назад

      Hey John, have you explored creating your emails in HTML? Using an HTML email formatter and then sending those emails with automation is possible within no-code automation. I think this may get you the results you seek.

    is it possible to keep the same thread for a single customer if I have multiple automations that are sent

    • @GarethPronovost

      For this I'd suggest checking out the email function inside of SmartSuite (we did a vid on this recently) - Airtable doesn't really have this option just yet.

    Are you aware of a way to automate sending a list of records to the assigned collaborator? e.g. Every Monday morning, send new applicants to assigned collaborators.

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  2 года назад +1

      Absolutely. Explore the "schedule" trigger in Airtable automations!

      @@GarethPronovost just realized you had responded to this...my notifications for responses has been off. I barely remember what I was doing wrong that long ago, but I think the problem I had run into was that there was no way to have a single Airtable automation that would send a list of records only to the assigned collaborator. i.e. I have 20 new applicants. 13 are assigned to John and 7 are assigned to Jane. Send an email to John with his 13 and to Jane with her 7.
