This video is so jam packed!!
I honestly don’t know how you get so much done with two little ones! You are doing an awesome job! 🥰
Just as an aside , live with the brick! You can always paint but you may regret it I know my neighbor did!
Amazon sells clips for hanging on brick , I’ve used them and passed them around to my neighbors! 🥰

I didn't know you could sell a house if you still had knob and tube wiring because of the fire hazard. Maybe its different code requirements for different states/countries. Please make sure you get home insurance, the hazard is real.

    • @MeganBell
      @MeganBell  2 года назад +1

I'm glad someone knows what it is! I've mentioned it to a few people and not many have heard of it. But yes, the home inspector says it's all up to code and it's all good, just gave us some guidance on what to be aware of with it. It must vary state to state and yes, home insurance I'm pretty sure is required.

Olive oil and lemon juice cocktail. It’ll help you take the bladder out. Also I had my gallbladder removed. I was scared but it feels so good after !

Have y'all thought about lime wash on brick? It's supposed to age really nicely, and if you think it eventually wears too much, you just lime wash it again! Vs. paint which can chip

I'm so glad you mentioned this. I was reading that it is a much better option as opposed to painting it.

I am not a big red brick fan, but I absolutely LOVE when it has the German Schmear look. So beautiful and classic. That is what I would suggest. :-) Congratulations! Also, we plan to start trying to our second baby in November and I have a 23 month old right now so good to hear about the challenges that possibly are ahead.

Years ago, my daughter’s Kindergarten teacher sent me a note to let me know my daughter never napped . I shared she never napped for me. Why on earth would she think she would nap for her! 🤣🤣🤣😂🤣

I am so excited for you getting an historic house and can't wait to see it! Congratulations! I definitely would not paint it. If you research it, painting brick can cause it to deteriorate. Brick has to be able to breathe. The German Schmear technique is a much better option. However, I think that you should not do anything to the brick for a minimum of a year after you move into the house. Live with it as it is. And another important reason not to touch the brick is if the house is in a documented historic area. Significantly altering the exterior of the house would preclude it from being deemed an historic property. There is probably an historic preservation society in the area. I would definitely talk with them before doing anything to the exterior of the house, including, of course, additions. I never really cared too much for red brick houses when I was younger, but my husband, grandson, and I live in one in an historic neighborhood and we love it! We would never consider painting it. Miles was so adorable at the beginning of the video! He's been traumatized by the addition of a new baby. I mean, think about how you would feel if your husband brought home a new wife! Give Miles time. He will probably end up acting like she belongs to him! Blessings! ❤

Carol, through my research I've learned all about the brick needing to breathe, like you said. It's something I never considered! And I agree, I think I should wait and live in the home before I make such a drastic change. Great advice.

Never paint a real brick home. They’re so fabulous just the way they are. I owned a 1924 colonial revival. Make it pop with beautiful window moldings. Brick needs to breathe. Congratulations on your home. I have been binge watching your videos after finding you a few weeks back. ❤

Kinda late on this…I want getting my notifications…unclicked and clicked the bell:). You’re right, kids thrive on routine. My girls out grew their naps early but they still had a quiet time in their rooms…we all needed a bit of alone time:). Congrats on the new house…going to watch the empty house tour now🥰

Can’t wait to see your new home journey! And I’m happy things are going so wonderfully with your family!
Just wanted to chime in about the napping ect…my son stopped napping at 8months and he’s 7 now. I read some children just grow out of it sooner. Also we lived in a 200 year old red brick mill home and loved it but after we had a child it was just sadly too small. I still miss that home and all the charm it had but my son is happier now with his own playroom and 2 acres to run around in now :)
I had a laparoscopic surgery for my appendix a few years back and it was a breeze so good luck with your gallbladder if you decide to go that route! It should be easy going and a really fast recovery (barely no down time if any).

Thank you for writing, Pamela! Miles napped two days in a row this week so I feel like I'm winning! And I had the gallbladder out three days ago - so far pretty breezy xo

Hi! Just wanted to let you know that I had my gallbladder removed laprascopically Hope I spelled that correctly! Lol! It was one of the easiest surgeries I have ever had! I went home the next day and the recovery time was nothing! I have had friends who had the other gallbladder surgery and there is no comparison! They were laid up for weeks! You are making the right decision! Good Luck! And Congrats on the new house!! 👍💜💜

Congratulations on your new home and your next journey. Regarding your home I grew up in a painted brick home which my parents painted every 25/30 years (this home was in my Family for more than 75 years), there are excellent "outdoor" paints these days that are made for "Sun and Surf etc." just do your research. I am Australian and my Parents home was exposed to a very, very hot climate and heavy rainstorms. Have you looked at rendering over the brick and therefore you would have a smoother exterior to paint, just a suggestion and of course this will depend on your funds. Definitely get rid of your gall bladder you will feel so much better (had my out when I was 21) and how exciting for your new garden. Also when I purchase Coriander (Cilantro) I wrap mine in slightly damp paper towel and it will last up to a week. So lovely to see Miles again. Best wishes Meghan you are going to be a busy lady over the next coming months.

None of my children had a nap in the day,my children just didn't need it.Ee can read or research what to do but,at the end of the day, their our children and so we agreed to do what's best for them. What I would say is to make sure you HH AVE a rest.If the children are asleep make this a time for you to put your feet up and relax.
