Is there a tuner for a Lincoln town car. I put an alloy drive shaft and knuckles on and a 4:10 and posi diff. I also put a bigger intake manifold and bigger throttle body and cai and it made the 0-60 a whole lot faster. Climbs up to 105 really fast and then that limiter hits. Ik this thing can go 140 easy cuz it’s only in 3rd at about 3.5k and when I let it shift to 4th you can feel it wants to pull a hell of a lot more.

That's very strange. I am not seeing any that say they fit. I'm sure they will, but you'll need to contact SCT themselves to find out why. It could be they did not put the v6 into the fitment criteria

Find the tuner you want and call the company to verify. Some come with pre-loaded tunes, some have you input the data and specs you want. Always be advised of the limits of tires and road speed limits 😉
I just got a 2016 chevy express van. It's in great shape except it won't go past 75. I think it has some kind of governor in it. I'm not trying to beat the land speed record but it's a 8 cylinder and passing sucks.
Jason Albertson yes. You'll need a programmer and where you buy it should have tune options. The best idea would be to buy the tuner and take the car in to have it dyno tuned. The email tunes will be "safe" tunes running rich and will "work" but you won't get the best performance

The main danger is a tire blowout on tires that are not rated for high speeds. Then of course all other exponential factors with speed. This is for closed course only

I'm having issues with the limiter on a 2004 Dodge Dakota 4x4. The rev limiter kicks in around 2500 rpms when getting on it, but if I ease off the throttle, and slowly throttle up, it will stop, I have tried many things to stop this. I'm not trying to race or go over speed limit or anything, but would this work if I used a tuner to remove speed limiter?
That’s very strange. It should do that without a tuner so maybe it’s a mechanical issue or does the truck have eco mode? Try it with the tow/haul button depressed
remember to check your throttle body. some bodies have a deficiency inside that at full pedal travel it is actually closed at 10% or more causing the decrease. Have throttle body in view and depress pedal to max and check. I had that similar problem and just unclipped and moved the throttle cable to one of the other two slots on the body and that way at full pedal down it was full open not closed slightly. Need a buddy for this one unless you have long legs and neck :)
I think dodge had it set also for rev in park. While in park rev to see if it stops throttle as well. If so most likely that is the culprit. Move clip on throttle and then retry. 3 restarts on engine should set the thing as normal. Then try coder again. My friends dodge had same issue. Big ? on a sport why the detune or "protect" against over rev when you can just ease up to it anyways but it ended up being linked to full pedal being a cocked throttle flap detune easy fix. Hope this helps. Worth a shot anyways. You didn't list engine. My friend has a v10 in one of his so engines differ. v4 -10 Dakota engines are a thing now adays.

theory Eventually your car’s rate of acceleration will slow as you meet more resistance and don’t have the horsepower to overcome the drag and resistance created. You’ll top out at say 135mph, rpm nor speed will not rise as you maintain the max speed the car will do. The tires will continue to heat up and that’s where you risk a blowout, especially for tires not rated for high speeds or temperatures. You’ll also likely run out of a straight stretch of road and little bumps become big speed bumps

It will allow you to alter some settings, and also add new tunes that can be sent from shops who do email tunes. The best scenario is then taking your car to a dyno and having it tuned and uploaded to the tuner and your cars computer
Your stock tires probably aren’t rated past that. If you do get a tuner that allows it, make sure you upgrade your tires to Z rated. And race track/ autobahn only 😉

It would be able to but the risk is the tires are not rated to go that fast. The rest of the truck would not have a problem.

The main danger is a tire blowout on tires that are not rated for high speeds. Then of course all other exponential factors with speed. This is for closed course only

I'm having issues with the limiter on a 2004 Dodge Dakota 4x4. The rev limiter kicks in around 2500 rpms when getting on it, but if I ease off the throttle, and slowly throttle up, it will stop, I have tried many things to stop this. I'm not trying to race or go over speed limit or anything, but would this work if I used a tuner to remove speed limiter?
That’s very strange. It should do that without a tuner so maybe it’s a mechanical issue or does the truck have eco mode? Try it with the tow/haul button depressed
remember to check your throttle body. some bodies have a deficiency inside that at full pedal travel it is actually closed at 10% or more causing the decrease. Have throttle body in view and depress pedal to max and check. I had that similar problem and just unclipped and moved the throttle cable to one of the other two slots on the body and that way at full pedal down it was full open not closed slightly. Need a buddy for this one unless you have long legs and neck :)
I think dodge had it set also for rev in park. While in park rev to see if it stops throttle as well. If so most likely that is the culprit. Move clip on throttle and then retry. 3 restarts on engine should set the thing as normal. Then try coder again. My friends dodge had same issue. Big ? on a sport why the detune or "protect" against over rev when you can just ease up to it anyways but it ended up being linked to full pedal being a cocked throttle flap detune easy fix. Hope this helps. Worth a shot anyways. You didn't list engine. My friend has a v10 in one of his so engines differ. v4 -10 Dakota engines are a thing now adays.

If the tuner allows you to make modifications to the stock tune you can. Otherwise you get a new tune with options you can modify. Find the brand your car will take and ask that manufacturer

Ik this is old but what if you remove top speed and floor it , does it stop at a certain point or what happens
theory Eventually your car’s rate of acceleration will slow as you meet more resistance and don’t have the horsepower to overcome the drag and resistance created. You’ll top out at say 135mph, rpm nor speed will not rise as you maintain the max speed the car will do. The tires will continue to heat up and that’s where you risk a blowout, especially for tires not rated for high speeds or temperatures. You’ll also likely run out of a straight stretch of road and little bumps become big speed bumps

Franky Flores it's unlikely the tune would randomly change. However, like a computer it's sometimes nice to reset/reboot things. Have you seen my adjusting idle speed video? My other thought is it could be a vacuum leak

It will allow you to alter some settings, and also add new tunes that can be sent from shops who do email tunes. The best scenario is then taking your car to a dyno and having it tuned and uploaded to the tuner and your cars computer

Your stock tires probably aren’t rated past that. If you do get a tuner that allows it, make sure you upgrade your tires to Z rated. And race track/ autobahn only 😉
