    Episodes 63 - 67 Notes: Part 2
    - Uthman RA Missing
The Prophet SAW, then decided to send a Qurayshi to the Quraysh and he chose Umar RA. However, Umar RA stated that Uthman RA would be better suited due to his family connection to Abu Sufyan. Thus the Prophet SAW agreed to send Uthman RA instead. When Uthman RA approached Makkah, he initially was prevented from entering. But, one of his cousins saw him and offered to give him protection so that, Uthman RA can then meet all the Qurayshi leaders. Yet, when Uthman RA met them, they all stated that, the Muslims will not be allowed to enter Makkah this year, out of pride.
However, Uthman RA was taking far too long in Makkah and with no way of verifying his status. Rumours began to spread amongst the Muslims that, the Quraysh have killed him. These rumours eventually became popularised to the extent that, the Prophet SAW himself stated that, the Muslims will not leave Hudaybiyyah without getting vengeance. The Prophet SAW then sent out a crier to all the Muslims informing them that, they must all take the Bayat Ar Ridwan also known as the Pledge of the Tree. The Pledge basically entailed that, the Muslims will all fight the Quraysh and not flee the battle even if death comes. This led to every single Muslim physically coming before the Prophet SAW and taking a pledge in front of a tree.
The Quraysh heard of the Bayat Ar Ridwan and trembled. They sent Uthman RA back to the Muslims at Hudaybiyyah to show that, he had not been harmed at all. It was the Bayat Ar Ridwan that, made the Quraysh decided to enact a treaty with the Muslims. The Quraysh then sent Mikraz to negotiate but, both Mikraz and the Prophet SAW could not come to a compromise. Until, the Quraysh then sent Suhayl Ibn Amr, one of the highest ranking Qurayshi chiefs, to come and negotiate on their behalf.
    - The Conditions of Hudaybiyyah
It was when Suhayl Ibn Amar came that, the Prophet SAW then agreed to sign a treaty with the Quraysh. Ali RA was the scribe of the treaty. The Prophet SAW wanted to include “Bismillah Hir Rahman Nir Raheem” and “Rasulullah” at the beginning of the treaty. But, due to Suhayl’s arrogance, the Prophet SAW omitted this from the treaty, in order to avoid conflict. The Prophet SAW then demanded that, the Muslims be allowed to perform Umrah.
Suhayl allowed this with a condition. The Muslims can do Umrah. Just not this year but, rather the following year. However, they would need to inform the Quraysh first, so that they can leave Makkah for 3 days and then return once the Muslims had left.
In return for this, Suhayl set several conditions. All in favour of the Quraysh:
    1. Any defectors from Quraysh who come to the Muslims, must be sent back, even if they have converted.
It was at this very moment that, Abu Jandal RA, the youngest son of Suhayl came running in chains. Abu Jandal RA had accepted Islam in secret but, was being locked up and tortured by Suhayl in a dungeon. Yet, when he found out that, the Muslims were camped outside Makkah, he found a way to break out of his dungeon and came running to the Muslims. When Suhayl saw this, he stated that, Abu Jandal is the first one that his condition would be applied to.
When Abu Jandal RA heard this, he pleaded with the Muslims not to send him back. However, Suhayl told the Prophet SAW, that there would be no treaty if they don’t agree on this condition. The Prophet SAW pleaded several times with Suhayl, to give Abu Jandal RA over to him. But numerous times Suhayl refused. Mikraz who could see the stalemate, then told the Prophet SAW that, Abu Jandal will not be tortured by the Quraysh. The Muslims were frustrated by this condition, especially Umar RA. But, due to Suhayl’s insistence and Mikraz’s assurance, the Prophet SAW agreed on this condition. Abu Jandal was thus sent back to Makkah in chains.
    2. The Quraysh and Muslims must have a 10 year peace treaty. This meant no fighting whatsoever during this period.
    3. During the 10 years. The Quraysh and Muslims can engage in treaties with any other tribes. But, the treaty of Hudaybiyyah would apply to any tribe that, the two parties have treaties with.
    4. The final condition was that, if any Muslim apostates and leaves Medina and goes to Makkah, then they will remain with the Quraysh and not be sent back.
The Prophet SAW agreed to all of these terms and the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah was then set. Abu Bakr RA, Umar RA and Uthman RA were witnesses to this treaty from the Muslim side.
    - Umar RA’s Anger
Umar RA then approached the Prophet SAW and questioned him on why they are not doing Umrah this year, despite the dream the Prophet SAW had. The Prophet SAW assured him that, Umrah will be done. But next year and not this year. Umar RA then went to Abu Bakr RA and questioned him on the what had just occurred. Abu Bakr RA answered the same as how the Prophet SAW answered. But Abu Bakr RA then got angry at Umar RA for not having faith and then advised him to put his trust in the Prophet SAW. Umar RA wasn’t the only Sahabi RA to have anger at what seemed to be disadvantageous conditions in the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah. But, Umar RA was the only one who voiced his concerns loudly. Eventually, Umar RA regained control of this emotions and regretted what he had said.
The Prophet SAW then commanded the Sahabah RA to get up and shave their heads and then head back to Medina. But, the Sahabah RA kept quiet and did not obey. So the Prophet SAW tried a second and third time. But, the Sahabah RA still kept quiet and didn’t move. The Prophet SAW, then went back to his tent where Umm Salamah RA was and she advised him to follow by example and they will obey. The Prophet SAW took his wife’s suggestion and when the Sahabah RA saw him shave his head. They all did the same. The Muslims then slaughtered the consecrated animals and sent them to the Quraysh.

Disclaimer for my Notes of Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam Series:
Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, these are my notes on Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah series.
Please note: I HIGHLY recommend that you all watch YQ’s Seerah series, as I DON’T cover every single detail the Sheikh mentions. I made these notes primarily for myself but, decided my fellow brothers and sisters may benefit from them too. I no doubt will have made mistakes in my notes. All the good in these notes is from Allah SWT and all the mistakes are from myself. But, I was very meticulous and tried my best to make sure everything is accurate as the Sheikh mentions it.
You also will see I have added “Fun Trivia facts” under each of my notes. These FTFs are information YQ said that was off topic or not necessary to include in my notes for the episode. But, they were still worth mentioning hence the inclusion as FTFs. FTFs aren’t always HAPPY pieces of information. Sometimes they are very sad trivia. I just want to say that FTF is the phrase I used for them all collectively when making the notes.
One thing I wanted to do but am too lazy to do is, maybe someone could take the FTFs from under each “Episode” and make an Islamic reminder/information IG/TikTok account and post them daily or something. Could be a great form of Sadaqah Jaariyah.
Please keep me in your Duas and ask Allah SWT to forgive all our sins during this blessed month and beyond! Ameen

That tribe however declared war against the Taqif, so the Taqif, had to pay alot of blood money to calm down the situation. At this Mughira and all his companians had to rush away from Taqif; and Mughira eventually heard of Islam, converted and came to Madinah. So he's turned over a completely new life. So the prophet PBUH told him many years ago "as for your Islam we will accept it so you can join us; but as for your money that you stole we will not accept it".
can anyone provide a reference for this please

Was Abu Bakr's curse against Allat after the command to not blaspheme in Surah 6?
Abu Bakr silencing Prophet Muhammad with his obscenity does not mean his action was acceptable and the other companions who acted similarly were in the wrong. They knew.
Mughira's case of his money being rejected for coming from highway robbery before he was Muslim is like a truth analogous to the lie about Judas.
I didn't doubt that there were fanatics in the early Islamic community. narrations about the people doing it and some where Prophet Muhammad was annoyed don't seem to indicate that this stuff was approved of. That says nothing about what happened after his death and almost every other path has its fanatics as among the first to apostatize.
Urwah was never a Pagan. In that context, that is an insult that has no real religious identity. It does make sense that he was of the first of the leaders of Taqif to accept Islam.
Even among Sunni narrators, those who exaggerate the status of such as Ali ibn Talib are rejectors and his enemies were disbelievers.
Quraysh definitely did have to give something as a consolation prize, but it would have compromised their position in greater society. Being acknowledged by them as a political entity worthy of rights still seems worth it.
