If that chorus and crying guitar doesn't make your body tingle then you're not alive.

One of my favourite Savatage songs - always makes me cry. Was in their Markthalle Concert in January 1996 and Wacken 1998.

So this is from the famous pro shot show, I've heard numerous times that Paul didn't like the lightening which was the reason the show didn't get a release, I've never heard that some cameras/angles were lost.. Nevertheless, the band here is in top form and having a great time. Thank you for sharing.

Charming guitar player 😂 Al gets a wrap for being hard on musicians especially other guitarist of savatage and TSO but he is actually a really nice guy the few times I’ve met him but for him when it’s time to work and perform that’s what you need to do and do it to perfection or he will let you know if you’re not performing a song correctly.. It’s kind of his job as the musical director to be a perfectionist 🤷‍♂️

Where did you hear he was hard on other musicians?

I have loved Al since I first time I heard him. I met him in the mid 2000’s in FL and told him he was one of my favorite guitar players since he is. He was so humble and happy to hear that, that he got up out of his chair, came around the table he was sitting at and hugged me and gave me a huge kiss on the cheek! I was so happy to be able to make him that flattered by a few simple but honest words and I figured a guy with his talent would have already known he was that good and a favorite of many. Al is ok in my book, and for the last 20 something years I’ve been following him and his music :-)

@@christophercatuogno6615 yes he’s very humble and probably the best guitarist I’ve ever seen live but he wont say that he is because he always want to get better. He said in some interview once when asked what his goals are regarding playing guitar . He said I just want to get better, I want to be better today than yesterday and hopefully not as good as I will be tomorrow

I never realized Al Pitrelli was in Savatage, which is weird, because they are one of my favorite bands. I always assumed this was Caffery playing the solos on this album.
