I think why Digimon anime is so less known and less popular compared to Pokemon is because Pokemon is consistent in using the main characters that ppl have come to know and love, Digimon is not, so the fans are so spread out and distracted, I personally like to focus on the adventure story more than the other stories like Fusion and Ghost game, I guess Digimon anime production has changed hands so much that it's hard to follow every disparate story and actually form an equal attachment to them all

Nice movie, but the ending kinda had many downsides. They were unable to save Meicoomon (not that that surprises me), the evil Gennai got away and is still free to cause damage some time later, we don't know what happened to that Himekawa after she went nuts, and they didn't exactly change the people's negative view on Digimon. It was still pretty exciting to watch though. Oh, yeah, and we still didn't see Joe's girlfriend.
tohitsumohinafan my take on this is that they made it like that cause of two reasons. One to have people be free to make any ending they want(which is basically nah for me), two is possible plot for upcoming projects.

A bit disappointed we didn't see Matt or Sora hang out more, though tai/meiko were pushed together. Or TK and Kairi...will forever be my childhood ship.
I didn't like the last movie: I hoped to see at least in this how Daisuke, Miyako and all the others had grown up, instead they are only mentioned them. I waited 3 years to see them, to know what had happened to them. I'm glad that there was Mimi too in these movies, but I was the same disappointed with other things.
Digimon is amazing, I'll also never forgot the 01 adventure, even 02 was not bad. Tri captures the magical feel, and nostalgia we all grew up with, only thing that annoyed me always with Digimon is the theme song that always plays during battle when the good overcome the bad. Hated that, and the whole digivolve screen too. Other than that, Digimon is a classic.
god i love these movies, and i really shouldnt. theres a lot of plotholes and problems but when i watch it, im not angry or upset, sometimes i got disappointed but for almost all 6 movies, i had a huge bloody smile on my face. yes its no where in comparison of the first adventure, but to be honest, no digimon season or movie has even come close to recapturing the magic of that first season, but 02 and tri have come the closest. i never got attached to any of the other kids like i did with the original 8, and i think thats why tri still holds a special place in my heart. its the characters that i love doing what they do best, even if i wanted more, im just so overjoyed that it at least happened. i cant wait until the next digimon project which looks pretty interesting, but tri i feel like did its job to its bare minimum, and im happy for that. this ending is perfect for me, and then you get what is probably my favourite song in all of existence, a cast rendition of butterfly.
Disappearing the 02 guys, as stupid as it is, was really Tri's first smart move for those of us who love the original group. I likewise love Tri, although I am aware that it was very bad, but you explained it quite well.
After watching all 6 parts of Digimon Tri, here is my conclusion of the overall movie series. Is it the worst installment in the Digimon franchise ? Ans: Well, no. Not really. Is it a good installment in the Digimon franchise ? Ans: HECK NO !!!!!!!!!!

They should make Tamer sequel than Adventure if in the end the sequel will contradict many thing from previous installment. At least Tamer not have definite ending like 02 who is already decide Yamato with Sora, Taichi with unknown(Probably Meiko), Ken with Yolei, and the others

TheMegaUzumaki I said pair up, not getting married. The tri lacks development to most people favorite character pairing. I like Taichi and Mimi pair, but in this anime they rarely interact to each other.

Alright since the Digimon Adventure Tri Movie #6 already released! Here's my opinion about it. First of all, it was a good movie.What i do like about it is that Digimon 02 Digidestined finally answered.Somehow they notice Yggdrasil plans from the start.Thats how they got defeated by Alphamon. They went to Digi-Coma? Daigo had no choice but to keep it as a secret due to under order by Maki since he finally tell the reason why maki working together with Yggdrasil to reboot the whole digital world. Also Taichi and the rest finally mention 'Daisuke and the rest'. Secondly, Holydramon was kinda good as in for fan service,but also kinda make sense why Tailmon evolve into 'Holydramon' ORIGINALLY Tailmon was suppose to evolve into Ophanimon but due to corruption data within Hikari and Meicoomon itself. Instead it corrupted tailmon and give us Fall Down Mode.Besides Holydramon is you could say a very unique Ultimate Digimon.For Holydramon conclusion,im glad they make it up for a reason why tailmon evolve into Holydramon instead Ophanimon. Next would be Omegamon Merciful Mode,So it was somehow a fusion from the rest of the digimon by using Mei Digivice but the quesiton is 'Will Omegamon MM coming back for future movies and won't get nerf?' If they do they should spend time more with merciful mode rather than normal Omegamon.Apart from the battle it was extraordinary,no comment on the last battle In Addition, Jesmon/Hackmon decided to help the Digi-Destined Children after he saw there was a chance to help Meicoomon without even rebooting the whole world.This is because after a short conversation with Mei,Hackmon did mention that he 'HONESTLY' didn't agree with the Reboot in the first place but after that it is reveal that the reason why meicoomon went berserk is because she CARRIED a lot of memories digimon data that explains WHY is she still exists after the first reboot.Also it MAKE SENSE WHY ALPHAMON AT FIRST decided to exterminate MEICOOMON because she carries the memories of the digimon as in carry in data and Alphamon was ordered to bring back(Possible) or WORSE COMES TO WORSE KILL MEICOOMON.Yggdrasil plans ORIGINALLY want to reboot the whole digital world including the data that Meicoomon had it.I could think that WHY ALPHAMON decided to protect Meicoomon in the fifth movie because it was somehow a last minute plan by Yggdrasil(since its already reboot and the data memories is still within Meicoomon,Yggdrasil decided to make things worse as making fusion with Tailmon and become Ordinemon.By doing that so, it is too eliminate the real world or another plan would be Yggdrasil 'PARADISE'. It's a matter of opinions. Hikari believed her beloved brother was gone. She went berserk, she fainted and become sick and desired to die because of it, she even lost Tailmon for the 2nd time and yet she managed to get a hold of herself in a few hours. It's right for Meiko to cry, but point is that in more than 20 episodes (a whole season!) she has no development and she's totally uncharacterized. Don't tell me that her development is resolving that Meicoomon has to be killed, because even in that moment she's just living things as they're thrown at her.

I like story of Taichi's team more. Team of Daisuke(adventure 2) had started quiet childish in the beginning. Thank God they fixed in the middle of the season. But adventure 1 was much more serious. So even this team have 1000 episodes more. I would be happy to watch.
I watched this on crunchyroll and I really loved the entire tri series except one aspect. Daisuke and the others. I know theres only so much room in the series for all the digimon evolutions and such but I mean, did they really have to keep them out of the story. Why no love for the 02 squad? And what a lazy way to keep them out of the story. Like somehow I don't believe that Hikari or Takeru wouldn't notice them missing in any way shape or form, I mean unless they don't go to the same school anymore, which would be way too convenient for the plot, they would notice Daisuke not being around. Oh well, that's my only rant, everything else resolved so much better than I thought it was going to.
I agree with you on that, though I would have liked to see a different ending for Meicoomon instead of the one she got. I'm not saying it was a bad ending from a storytelling perspective, but it just broke my heart.
I don’t mean to tick anyone off, but I’m a little bit glad that adventure tri is over. Not that I disliked any of the characters or anything, I only dislike that this is the second time the original series got rebooted, and that this time, there wasn’t too much new stuff added in.
Okay so I was hype when I first heard of the concept of Tri. But after seeing it to the end it really just feels like a copy and paste long version of the original digimon movie with Willis. With replacing Willis with Meichi who was not as enjoyable of an addtion.
I once had long silences when talking to a significant other so I found this scene a little hard to watch. It's an incredibly awkward position and I know exactly how it feels. At least Taichi had Agumon backing him up there.
I laughed out loud when Yamato declared he'd be "aiming for space" once he found out Taichi was going to prep school. Digimon Adventure Tri was an awesome ride, and the perfect replacement for Digimon Season 3. On one hand, I wish we had gotten this instead of Tamers back in 2000/2001, but on the other hand this shows that they haven't forgotten about the True Digimon and that they care deeply about the franchise. And now its back, no more spin-offs (except in video game and manga form, lol). For the first time, I feel like I can introduce my children to Digimon. Long live The King!

@@qowkhauspqokwhxzsoafjhwmew2924 The digimon would return sometime since the creators said that the ending of 02 is still canon and the last line in the movie is about meeting again. But I agree that Last Evolution's ending and new lore is kind of betraying the old series messages in order to be "fulfilling". The digimon being analogues of childhood hobbies makes sense but the thing is those things don't disappear when you grow up you just have to separate with them for a while. The digimon don't deserve to have this happen to them. The original adventure had a bitter sweet ending but ensured the viewer that this was not the last adventure. Tri made it seem like it would be a new lifestyle for them, that they were no longer ordinary and they would always be digidestined. The kids never catch a break but neither do the digimon. They both deserve at least somewhat happy 'endings'. I feel like instead of dissappearing, Agumon and Gabumon should have permanently evolved into Greymon and Garuromon and return to the digital world and then the digivices turn to stone. In the original the Digimon were independent creatures we just didn't get their perspectives much, after the first Tri they're just treated as extensions of the partners. Last Evolution's message is basically being an adult sucks and instead of doing anything about it you just get old enough to stop caring. Hopefully if the reboot gets to that stage they also show Taichi and Yamato getting over the loss and reuniting with their digimon once again.

Gennai specifically said he didn't want humans and digimon co-existing. But I guess it has to happen. Also, in the original plot for season 3 before tamers the plot was going to be or start with digimon from outer space.
I wonder if Tk and Kari end up being a cannon? The final part of the movie wasn't really clear about their cannon but there was a big hint. He mention about kari alittle bit and shows that he really care for her. will the author create another movie or series of the original 8 kids? what about the 02 kids? I know that they were sent to the hospital
The producer teased a new Adventure project on twitter. Wouldn't be surprised if it is a direct sequel. Also, next year is the 20th anniversary of Adventure, so it does make sense.
Im curious why on tri no mention other choosen children from world wide, in japan so many (see adventure 02). In this just like them only with Meiko... And people around this series don't even know about digimon? So weird....because different story writter
I don't really get the Meiko hate. Yeah, she didn't add much to the gang, often appear crying, and she always felt guilty that all this incident happened because of she felt she isn't a good partner to Mei-chan. I want to say "blame the writer", but since that sounds cheap, I'll take a little defense for her. Look at this perspective: she is a transferred girl from "the least populous perfecture in Japan" (it's true, look up in wiki about Tottori), so she isn't used to live in big city with density like Tokyo. She isn't an outgoing girl like Mimi, caring mom like Sora, or a calm little sister like Hikari. Plus she's a new character, so we don't have connection with her, so its easy to just point the hate to her. During movie 2, she looks happy with her new friends in big city and they welcomed her and her digimon. Heck, when things went from bad to worse and to worst, the gang never blamed Meiko for what happened. And Meiko is blessed sorrounded by this warm and welcoming people. I could say, maybe without her appearance, the gang won't be this mature. She also had this situation rough. Her digimon was inserted a shard of apokarimon data when in egg, and resulted in easily berserk digimon. Apokarimon, ladies and gentlemen! Someone sabotage Meicoomon egg data and insert piece of apocalypse triggering digimon into it. Give her a break. No matter how kind you as their partner or their memories with you, someday it will snap. Plus, people are using Meicoomon as subject of experiment. Her father, Himekawa Maki (glad she died in dark ocean), dark Gennai, Yggdrasil... everyone sees her as subject of experiment or tool. Only Meiko sees her as a living being before she moved to Tokyo. So I say, yeah, Meiko isn't a bad character. It's jsut her burden is too huge to carry for a teenage girl.
Another one that I don't know why is hated is Maki. Sure, she is in part guilty for what happened but... she also lost her digimon partner, and after seeing how the others managed to overcome the thread, she never understood why they needed her and Tapirmon, plus... I get the feeling that Meiko may turn into the next "Maki" if nobody does something. I feel really bad for the fate of both girls, though.
That is true. I feel sorry for both girls. Plus, we do not know if Maki is dead, although she might very well be. At least her partner, probably remembers her now. In fact, that could have happened to TK, if he did not get Patamon back, after the fight with Devimon. We all know how that scarred him, and his partner was able to hatch again. In season 2, he had this whole thing about being angry at those who play with the power of darkness, and even Black Wargreymon, which was created from 100 Control Spires. He is still having nightmares about losing Patamon. In Tri: Confession, his partner was the first one infected, and he chose to hide this information from the other kids, and that includes Izzy, who might have been able to figure out what they can do to disinfect him.
why are people getting angry about the relationship building, sure it's not the one you wanted but it's not your choice. If you want a relationship to be your choice, write your own stories.
The sheer fact that these are all fictional characters means their relationships are forced. The writers wanted certain people to be with certain people and thats whats gonna happen. (Srry couldnt resist the technicality)

Rodrick Young the writers could do it. The other characters have the benefit of being with us for multiple decades so the fanbase cares for them. A new character even with proper development would probably be written off anyway if there was a ship. Plus theres the fact that to this day the taiXsora ship is still being discussed as if the s2 ending isnt canon XD but ppl have their own taste.
Because it's forced & doesn't even make sense. Not that I personally would've wanted this to happen(would rather want him to get with Kari), but characters like TK would've made more sense getting with Meiko considering how she interacted with him more than TAI of all people....
@TheUzumakiSpiral As a general rule of thumb that's true, but also when Meicoomon died the boundary between the real world and the digital world was very thin and easily passed through, so maybe she did manage to get reincarnated in the end. I'm doubtful, but there's always that possibility.
There are some things that I still want to know... What about Himekawa and Gennai... And I really want Takari to be cannon.. Also, that thng about dagomon in 02 hasn't really ended yet (they say they'll be waiting until Hikari is ready).. So I really hope the next new project will still about the original digimon characters (Tai and the others)

Meiko never joined any fight in the past. She suddenly appears out of no where. Her holy device is never used once and her Digimon did the bad stuff from the beginning until the end and was killed. It is awkward and forced when everyone pampered her that she and Meikumon were a part of the team.
KoeSeer when she called him Taichi-san, it was both polite (the san suffix) and somewhat familiar (in Japan, first name basis is reserved for good friends). when it was Yagami, it indicated that she hadn't talked to him in a while, so the good friend part faded, but the -kun suffix is a sign of affection (typically when a girl calls a boy that at their age, there is a small hint of a crush, even if they don't realize it)
You're quite welcome. I've read a bunch of different manga series, but not many of them explained the suffixes before i read Maho Sensei Negima (which explained most of them to me)

Rodrick Young true, but technically tamers and savers and the like are not set in the "same universe" as 01, and also the notion is briefly talked about during the movie with diaboromon, which is set in the world of 01. since this is a continuation of the story from 01, then shouldn't that notion stand?
This doesn't fell over to me. For they still need to reunite Meiko with Meicoomon since Digimon never die. And they need to get Gennai to come to his senses.
I think they are doing too much with the whole romance thing. It's not clear whether yamato x sora have something going on, taiichi x sora or taiichi x mei or yamato x mei. its ridiculous. They are even giving us yamato x gabumon and most of all yamato x taiichi. They need to chill, they are too desperate for viewers. Either give us one thing u can hold on to or no Romance at all.
We know that their 8 partners are wearing disguises in the final scene. I just wonder where Gabumon, Biyomon, and Patamon are at, in the scene that Matt, Sora, & TK are walking. I do not see them anywhere in that scene, yet when the others are shown, they are nowhere around. However, you do see them at the scene when Tai is calling Meiko. I guess those three may have been in the cyberspace thing that Izzy built for them.

Spoilers for anyone who hasn’t finished Tri! Though this isn’t completely spot on for the 02 group, when Taichi is caught under the rocks and in that lab of sorts, he finds multiple glass tubes. Inside those tubes, if I remember correctly, though they’re not stated directly, are the 02 cast.
Worst Conclusion EVER! I wanted Meiko to stay with Tai and the gang and for Meicoomon to come back free from the shard! This ending was sad miserable and depressing. Meiko was lying, she's not ok. I wanted a happier ending. This is flat out TERRIBLE!

I think why Digimon anime is so less known and less popular compared to Pokemon is because Pokemon is consistent in using the main characters that ppl have come to know and love, Digimon is not, so the fans are so spread out and distracted, I personally like to focus on the adventure story more than the other stories like Fusion and Ghost game, I guess Digimon anime production has changed hands so much that it's hard to follow every disparate story and actually form an equal attachment to them all

Nice movie, but the ending kinda had many downsides.
They were unable to save Meicoomon (not that that surprises me),
the evil Gennai got away and is still free to cause damage some time later,
we don't know what happened to that Himekawa after she went nuts,
and they didn't exactly change the people's negative view on Digimon.
It was still pretty exciting to watch though. Oh, yeah, and we still didn't see Joe's girlfriend.

Digimon is amazing, I'll also never forgot the 01 adventure, even 02 was not bad. Tri captures the magical feel, and nostalgia we all grew up with, only thing that annoyed me always with Digimon is the theme song that always plays during battle when the good overcome the bad. Hated that, and the whole digivolve screen too. Other than that, Digimon is a classic.
I love Jyoumi more than Koumi. Because Jyou is really caring and protecting Mimi since Digimon adventure 01

god i love these movies, and i really shouldnt. theres a lot of plotholes and problems but when i watch it, im not angry or upset, sometimes i got disappointed but for almost all 6 movies, i had a huge bloody smile on my face. yes its no where in comparison of the first adventure, but to be honest, no digimon season or movie has even come close to recapturing the magic of that first season, but 02 and tri have come the closest. i never got attached to any of the other kids like i did with the original 8, and i think thats why tri still holds a special place in my heart. its the characters that i love doing what they do best, even if i wanted more, im just so overjoyed that it at least happened. i cant wait until the next digimon project which looks pretty interesting, but tri i feel like did its job to its bare minimum, and im happy for that. this ending is perfect for me, and then you get what is probably my favourite song in all of existence, a cast rendition of butterfly.

You couldn't do that with the 02 ending either. It was pretty clear that most of the cast had unknown spouses.

Alright since the Digimon Adventure Tri Movie #6 already released! Here's my opinion about it.
First of all, it was a good movie.What i do like about it is that Digimon 02 Digidestined finally answered.Somehow they notice Yggdrasil plans from the start.Thats how they got defeated by Alphamon. They went to Digi-Coma? Daigo had no choice but to keep it as a secret due to under order by Maki since he finally tell the reason why maki working together with Yggdrasil to reboot the whole digital world. Also Taichi and the rest finally mention 'Daisuke and the rest'.
Secondly, Holydramon was kinda good as in for fan service,but also kinda make sense why Tailmon evolve into 'Holydramon' ORIGINALLY Tailmon was suppose to evolve into Ophanimon but due to corruption data within Hikari and Meicoomon itself. Instead it corrupted tailmon and give us Fall Down Mode.Besides Holydramon is you could say a very unique Ultimate Digimon.For Holydramon conclusion,im glad they make it up for a reason why tailmon evolve into Holydramon instead Ophanimon.
Next would be Omegamon Merciful Mode,So it was somehow a fusion from the rest of the digimon by using Mei Digivice but the quesiton is 'Will Omegamon MM coming back for future movies and won't get nerf?' If they do they should spend time more with merciful mode rather than normal Omegamon.Apart from the battle it was extraordinary,no comment on the last battle
In Addition, Jesmon/Hackmon decided to help the Digi-Destined Children after he saw there was a chance to help Meicoomon without even rebooting the whole world.This is because after a short conversation with Mei,Hackmon did mention that he 'HONESTLY' didn't agree with the Reboot in the first place but after that it is reveal that the reason why meicoomon went berserk is because she CARRIED a lot of memories digimon data that explains WHY is she still exists after the first reboot.Also it MAKE SENSE WHY ALPHAMON AT FIRST decided to exterminate MEICOOMON because she carries the memories of the digimon as in carry in data and Alphamon was ordered to bring back(Possible) or WORSE COMES TO WORSE KILL MEICOOMON.Yggdrasil plans ORIGINALLY want to reboot the whole digital world including the data that Meicoomon had it.I could think that WHY ALPHAMON decided to protect Meicoomon in the fifth movie because it was somehow a last minute plan by Yggdrasil(since its already reboot and the data memories is still within Meicoomon,Yggdrasil decided to make things worse as making fusion with Tailmon and become Ordinemon.By doing that so, it is too eliminate the real world or another plan would be Yggdrasil 'PARADISE'.
Other than that, Genai did mention at the end Daemon or Diablomon, IT IS CONFIRM THAT SEQUEL IS COMING but Will the 02 Digi-Destined be the next victim.if Toei Animation plan to bring back Daemon and Diablomon,i would choose 'BOTH of them' because both did appear in 02.By making a sequel starting with the 02,These two digimon better be the final boss for the next sequel.In Adventure 02 itself it has a lot of plot holes so if they gonna make a sequel,they have a chance to REDEEM 02 Digi-Destined adventure.
Finally! Overall the movie finally answered 5/10 of the whole DIGIMON ADVENTURE TRI.I will rate 7.5/10 for the whole 6 movies,Not one but whole 6 movies as in ONE SERIES.Eventhough some movies have plot holes but at least some of them are able to answered in the 6th MOVIE.I can't wait for the next sequel or a PROJECT but for most of the part a sequel eventually will be the next project.Thank you ADVENTURE TRI,THIS IS THE BEST DIGIMON MOVIE UP TO DATE!

It's a matter of opinions. Hikari believed her beloved brother was gone. She went berserk, she fainted and become sick and desired to die because of it, she even lost Tailmon for the 2nd time and yet she managed to get a hold of herself in a few hours. It's right for Meiko to cry, but point is that in more than 20 episodes (a whole season!) she has no development and she's totally uncharacterized. Don't tell me that her development is resolving that Meicoomon has to be killed, because even in that moment she's just living things as they're thrown at her.

I like story of Taichi's team more. Team of Daisuke(adventure 2) had started quiet childish in the beginning. Thank God they fixed in the middle of the season. But adventure 1 was much more serious. So even this team have 1000 episodes more. I would be happy to watch.
I watched this on crunchyroll and I really loved the entire tri series except one aspect. Daisuke and the others. I know theres only so much room in the series for all the digimon evolutions and such but I mean, did they really have to keep them out of the story. Why no love for the 02 squad? And what a lazy way to keep them out of the story. Like somehow I don't believe that Hikari or Takeru wouldn't notice them missing in any way shape or form, I mean unless they don't go to the same school anymore, which would be way too convenient for the plot, they would notice Daisuke not being around. Oh well, that's my only rant, everything else resolved so much better than I thought it was going to.

Okay so I was hype when I first heard of the concept of Tri. But after seeing it to the end it really just feels like a copy and paste long version of the original digimon movie with Willis. With replacing Willis with Meichi who was not as enjoyable of an addtion.

I laughed out loud when Yamato declared he'd be "aiming for space" once he found out Taichi was going to prep school. Digimon Adventure Tri was an awesome ride, and the perfect replacement for Digimon Season 3. On one hand, I wish we had gotten this instead of Tamers back in 2000/2001, but on the other hand this shows that they haven't forgotten about the True Digimon and that they care deeply about the franchise. And now its back, no more spin-offs (except in video game and manga form, lol). For the first time, I feel like I can introduce my children to Digimon. Long live The King!

But I agree that Last Evolution's ending and new lore is kind of betraying the old series messages in order to be "fulfilling". The digimon being analogues of childhood hobbies makes sense but the thing is those things don't disappear when you grow up you just have to separate with them for a while. The digimon don't deserve to have this happen to them. The original adventure had a bitter sweet ending but ensured the viewer that this was not the last adventure. Tri made it seem like it would be a new lifestyle for them, that they were no longer ordinary and they would always be digidestined. The kids never catch a break but neither do the digimon. They both deserve at least somewhat happy 'endings'.
I feel like instead of dissappearing, Agumon and Gabumon should have permanently evolved into Greymon and Garuromon and return to the digital world and then the digivices turn to stone. In the original the Digimon were independent creatures we just didn't get their perspectives much, after the first Tri they're just treated as extensions of the partners. Last Evolution's message is basically being an adult sucks and instead of doing anything about it you just get old enough to stop caring.
Hopefully if the reboot gets to that stage they also show Taichi and Yamato getting over the loss and reuniting with their digimon once again.

I don't really get the Meiko hate. Yeah, she didn't add much to the gang, often appear crying, and she always felt guilty that all this incident happened because of she felt she isn't a good partner to Mei-chan.
I want to say "blame the writer", but since that sounds cheap, I'll take a little defense for her.
Look at this perspective: she is a transferred girl from "the least populous perfecture in Japan" (it's true, look up in wiki about Tottori), so she isn't used to live in big city with density like Tokyo. She isn't an outgoing girl like Mimi, caring mom like Sora, or a calm little sister like Hikari. Plus she's a new character, so we don't have connection with her, so its easy to just point the hate to her. During movie 2, she looks happy with her new friends in big city and they welcomed her and her digimon. Heck, when things went from bad to worse and to worst, the gang never blamed Meiko for what happened. And Meiko is blessed sorrounded by this warm and welcoming people.
I could say, maybe without her appearance, the gang won't be this mature.
She also had this situation rough. Her digimon was inserted a shard of apokarimon data when in egg, and resulted in easily berserk digimon. Apokarimon, ladies and gentlemen! Someone sabotage Meicoomon egg data and insert piece of apocalypse triggering digimon into it. Give her a break. No matter how kind you as their partner or their memories with you, someday it will snap.
Plus, people are using Meicoomon as subject of experiment. Her father, Himekawa Maki (glad she died in dark ocean), dark Gennai, Yggdrasil... everyone sees her as subject of experiment or tool. Only Meiko sees her as a living being before she moved to Tokyo. So I say, yeah, Meiko isn't a bad character. It's jsut her burden is too huge to carry for a teenage girl.
Another one that I don't know why is hated is Maki. Sure, she is in part guilty for what happened but... she also lost her digimon partner, and after seeing how the others managed to overcome the thread, she never understood why they needed her and Tapirmon, plus... I get the feeling that Meiko may turn into the next "Maki" if nobody does something.
I feel really bad for the fate of both girls, though.

A new character even with proper development would probably be written off anyway if there was a ship. Plus theres the fact that to this day the taiXsora ship is still being discussed as if the s2 ending isnt canon XD but ppl have their own taste.
Because it's forced & doesn't even make sense. Not that I personally would've wanted this to happen(would rather want him to get with Kari), but characters like TK would've made more sense getting with Meiko considering how she interacted with him more than TAI of all people....

@TheUzumakiSpiral As a general rule of thumb that's true, but also when Meicoomon died the boundary between the real world and the digital world was very thin and easily passed through, so maybe she did manage to get reincarnated in the end. I'm doubtful, but there's always that possibility.
There are some things that I still want to know... What about Himekawa and Gennai... And I really want Takari to be cannon.. Also, that thng about dagomon in 02 hasn't really ended yet (they say they'll be waiting until Hikari is ready).. So I really hope the next new project will still about the original digimon characters (Tai and the others)

Meiko never joined any fight in the past. She suddenly appears out of no where. Her holy device is never used once and her Digimon did the bad stuff from the beginning until the end and was killed. It is awkward and forced when everyone pampered her that she and Meikumon were a part of the team.

KoeSeer when she called him Taichi-san, it was both polite (the san suffix) and somewhat familiar (in Japan, first name basis is reserved for good friends).
when it was Yagami, it indicated that she hadn't talked to him in a while, so the good friend part faded, but the -kun suffix is a sign of affection (typically when a girl calls a boy that at their age, there is a small hint of a crush, even if they don't realize it)

I think they are doing too much with the whole romance thing. It's not clear whether yamato x sora have something going on, taiichi x sora or taiichi x mei or yamato x mei. its ridiculous. They are even giving us yamato x gabumon and most of all
yamato x taiichi. They need to chill, they are too desperate for viewers. Either give us one thing u can hold on to or no Romance at all.

Though this isn’t completely spot on for the 02 group, when Taichi is caught under the rocks and in that lab of sorts, he finds multiple glass tubes. Inside those tubes, if I remember correctly, though they’re not stated directly, are the 02 cast.
Worst Conclusion EVER! I wanted Meiko to stay with Tai and the gang and for Meicoomon to come back free from the shard! This ending was sad miserable and depressing. Meiko was lying, she's not ok. I wanted a happier ending. This is flat out TERRIBLE!
